Owned Fords since I was 16: Tempo, Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Taurus, Sable, Thunderbird, LTD. NEVER had ANY problems with any of them, put over 100,000 miles on every vehicle I've owned.

my mom and dad had fords and my mom had a 1990 crown victoria and 98 taurus BAD cars first off my mom spent about 20000 dollars in REPAIRS in both car and they rusted holes every where (thats bad quility) and she only drove 5 miles a day going to work and back my dad had a 91 ford e350 with a big v8 he replace all the mechanical parts on it and they never lasted he had about 270000 miles on it and last year it died the engine blew up and caught fire.....

i have had nothing but bad experiences with ford but then again i have not found a car that i can not find something wrong with or a evident problem. The ford focus and contour both SVT models lemon law one after each other then a Honda accord problems , windows radio AC , Toyota Camry v6 transmission , Hyundai sonata left and right problems , VW gti electrical , Nissan sentra radio, shocks interior all fell apart. and all these cars are former cars of the year so !!!!! Not a good thing

Man maybe, just maybe, it's not the car manufacturers, but the actual owner? I've had 3 hondas, 1 jeep, 1 audi, 1 pontiac. Honestly, never had any of the problems you did... and I drive my cars hard. Maybe, and i dont mean to offend you, you're one of those drivers that unknowingly abuse their cars(i.e. speeding over bumps, go over curbs, no proper maitenance.. it goes on) Honestly nowadays, as long as you keep a car in check it should last.(that means doing all the recommended maintenances)

Alan Mulally came from Boeing with 37 years experience, and he's obviously applying his Aerospace Knowledge to Ford, and it's working.

The Fusion is a Great choice, Ford's Quality and Creativity have gone way up in recent years.

They have a signed Partnership with, Microsoft, Sony, and Best Buy, there Hybrid, is the World's Finest. There Cabin Tech, even after being out a year, is way ahead of the competition. Engines, Gearboxes, and Everything, like Motor Trend says, is well thought out.

Great job, Ford! I agree with the Fusion winning because it has had the most improvements among the vehicles that competed for the award. The Camaro is a great car, but it hasn't garnished praise from everybody. That goes for the Mustang, too (plus, the Mustang's V-6 is taken from the Ford Ranger; yeah, it's a piece of shit).

Didn't realize the deal was finalized. You're right, Ford took alot of safety features and chassis technology from Volvo's lineup and implemented them in their newest cars (Fusion, Taurus, Edge). But the powertrain and original chassis already existed in Ford's co-development with Mazda.

The Mazda 6 & Ford Fusion share more in common than any car in the Volvo line.

By the way, when Volve fails to sell more than 1,000 cars in a month then it becomes obvious things are going down hill.
