@shofu maybe in YOUR experience ice beam mew is the most common, he may be new to battling or like i said he may be used to seeing thunder/(bolt) mews, he could be one of those lazy guys that just goes onto smogon for answers instead of testing for themselves (as smogon doesnt have mew using ice beam in any of their sets) but whatever, everyone has a different play style, so he might of questioned some of your moves.
