This is hilarious. No, I mean REALLY LOL. And how many people do you suppose know Norman Cousins (and the SRL)? I'm betting very few. But no matter. Great quote from him.
Who was the first to think about this? Have seen a live demo by Paul Zenon a while ago. There`s also a video on YouTube of this performance. Anyways, this one is really fun, indeed. *g*
@TypeAJProductions It's def not original with Jimbo nor me. It's an OLD idea. I've just tweaked it a bit to suit my own style. That's one of the great things about such a simple bend = adaptability (to situations and styles.)
@TheUsedMagician Yes, that's always the danger with this bend. Generally you DON'T want to combine glass with bends. :D But your line of script def controls the moment very effectively. It's also best, when sharing a bend with SEVERAL people, if everybody experiences the bend at the same time = the reactions will BUILD more powerfully. It's also interesting to let people 'arrive' at awareness of the bend in their own time too. Thanks for the input!
@BendingTheReal oh my response was more as a joke. I was actually bringing attention to the fact that you already set the bend up perfectly with your approach so that the spectator wouldn't potentially drop the glass
I would totally shit my pants

Another option is to say "maybe it'll work if we turn the glass over." Then have them flip their hands, see the bug, freak out, and drop the glass!
