  • don't do that it will ruin the interior but just dust lightly with a can of air and then i use a vacuum cleaner with the computer shop vac attachments and dust it with it and suck up the dust from it all around the system, I do this same procedure for my PS3 and the back of my flat screen tv and dust my computer as well and i keep my gaming consoles in the open to be able to breathe and to keep cool as well.

  • U dont do that, it will freeze the interior

  • Is this the xbox 360 slim? If yes it says in the instructions to NOT use one.

  • @TheGr8Chris6 no, it's not the slim.

  • Hey this dust spray spray is fluid like, will that damage my xbox????

  • @pedothepandabear no duh thats the reason u got that liquid shit there

  • While you are blowing the air in use a vacuum cleaner on the bottom of the case, the side that is opposite of the disc drive.

  • Your blowing the dust off the heat sink etc. But the dust is still in the Xbox.

  • ok so i opended my disk tray and sprayed dust remover into it and i tilted the can a little by accident and that liquid shit came out and went into the disk drive, but it dried in less than a quater of a second, but anyway im just wondering if that was the cause of my disk drive not being able to read my game disks right now?

  • @PedoThePandaBear Never spray in the disk drive. That is why he doesn't do it in the video. Even if you spray and keep "that liquid shit" out, it will damage the lens. Fortunately, if your warranty is up it is cheap and easy to replace the drive on your own.

  • Can I use a straw? Haha... serious tho.

  • where does the dust come out of?

  • I have a can of air and it says "Industrial Strength" on it, I don't know if that's part of the name, or if that's what it is. Can I use that.

@TheLazyFatMan Mine costed me $8 at Wal-Mart, but I'm sure you can get it for like $4.

  • Were and how much was the can of air?

  • can i use a small vacumm ??

  • Hmm. Turns out my mother was right

  • JD, I tried your method and boy, was there a ton of dust in my Xbox 360. Thanks for the tip and I'll give you a like to boot.

  • @Rich96524 how does him owning a computer and xbox make him a pedophile, and if he is trying to help us without saying something like hello little girl or hello little boy or try to get us in a van with candy and then molest us i just cant see how he is a pedo...

  • ill just take a straw and blow air on it

  • @BLACKBOY1stst Haha that was my LOL of the day

  • are you retard ? never put compressed air in your xbox or computers

  • @Rich96524

Are you an immature little kid who thinks he's funny?

This guy is trying to help.

  • you are a pediphile with no life, you are a 40 year old stalking young children, are you related to Michael Jackson?????

  • you r a pediphile what is wrong with u, u r are a 40 year old with no life stalking young children , are u related to Michael Jackson????

  • hes laughing its fake

    0:56-57

  • hes laughing its fake

    0:56

  • hes laughing its fake

  • lol, microsoft said blowing can air duster is the worst thing you can do, your just blowing it in. They said you have to vacuum it off.

  • oh no i used spray paint fml

  • does this help with overheating too?

  • can i use like an empty axe can? I dont have a can of air

  • @ ToonzzOfficail

As long as the blow dryer us on a cold mode, because hit would make your case worse

  • u sound like a black man,. awesome

  • dude if you just use compressed air and put it through the fan vents its just gonna spread around in your xbox360 more

  • Dusting your xbox regularly is a great idea. PC users do it frequently, and 1/4inch of dust on any of your components is MORE than enough to cause some damage overtime. However I recommend vacuuming from the back vents first, and spray the air through the disktray (must be on, avoid lens), the vacuum will suck it through the back ports instead of blowing all the dust inside the xbox.

  • this is like a bad porno lol

  • This video makes me want to shoot myself. All he is doing is blowing the dust around the Xbox. If you REALLY want to clean your Xbox, use a low powered vacuum against the vents.

  • @Renato32997 I tried his method and the dust was blowing out of the vents, like it's suppose to. The reason why you didn't see any dust in the vid was because he was using a very clean Xbox 360 as an example.

  • where do you buys those

  • do you think it would work if i used a blow dryer?

  • @TOONZofficial

i was going to try a blow dryer also cause my xbox is dirty and it is not working cause of so much build up i will let you know when i do. our i will go get a can of ait like this guy did. I think this is a good ideal

  • Can the build up of dust inside you xbox effect the console, if it does then whats the best solution

  • @teenytinyjack

yes it can mine is not working write now i have two red rings and everywere i look they say it is from build up dust so keep it clean i just took mine apart and im going to do this

  • where can u find a can of air??

  • @blitzs23 get a can get some air and some carbonated soda heh heh

  • @blitzs23

    try the hardware store

  • will the blowing of the air in the 360 damage the disc lens?..

  • @DoomShroomer it wont get into the drive. it's completely sealed

  • @DoomShroomer just dont do it in the dic tray simple as tht there is a case around the disc stuff and shit

  • @vuhjaja pc shops

  • So I am having a problem with my 360 and audio dropouts & Video lag, VIA HDMI, to my Sanyo 32" TV, I had to turn the quality down a bit to keep this from happening D;

  • are you dante???

  • lol i woudnt stick that thing in their cuz it will cum loose and get stck

  • thnx man

  • i used a wind blower is that ok it worked ok the dus blowed out so is that ok

  • I know why people keep having the red ring of death, they always turn off the xbox while the game is still running, and they open the disc tray while the game is running, and their to lazy to take care of the xbox 360, The Ps3 is newer which is why it acquires less maintance, as for the xbox 360 it's older which was the first of a new generation. so xbox 360 haters are xbox idiots...

  • what ever you do do not spin the fans with the air you will overspin them

  • better way open the whole thing up undo the screws and clean with rag

  • How do I clean my new xbox 360 slim? Should I use a vacumm tube

  • i think a vacume cleaner will work better

  • @AbsolutProdigy I just like to use a hoover on it's lowest setting :)

  • @AbsolutProdigy i agree :-)

  • @AbsolutProdigy true and cheaper you dont gotta buy nothing just use the one in your house

  • would a pump with a needle on the end work and does this fix red rings???

  • will a air pump work for this

  • you just dusted all that dust into your keybord! lmoa!

  • good post thanks for sharing...some ppl say not to spray your console with air but idk why they do....keep it clean and dust free and it will run at peak performance

  • So, if you dust all of your PC's and stuff you sure must use up a lot of aircans?

I personaly prefer to dust PC's and 360 with a compressor... Unlimited air, more presure, and its free :)

  • Why does everyone say use an air compresor when you can use an air can duster?

  • @ThePs3sux cooler king kills your 360

  • what if the liquid nitrogen starts pouring out???

  • yh but the dust just gets spread around the whole xbox >.<

  • can you please tell me what kind of air can you used for this video and were you bought it (US)

  • bullshit xD

  • were can i buy a can like this...please respond

  • @MyDerSan u can buy it at a wal mart or any stores that sells electronics

  • i like take of both protective covers and then clean it, without doing that it just sprays the dust around in the 360

  • @TheHaloAwsome what accent?

  • I like this guys accent

  • Now I'm not a rocket scientist, but as far as I can see the front of the xbox has no major ventilation. So while your blowing all that dust with your can of air, it appears to me as tho your just blowing it deeper into the Xbox. I'd rather use a vacum personally, just makes more sense to me...

  • I always laugh when someone dusts an electronic indoors. GO OUTSIDE, derrrrrrrrr. Furthermore, when you blow out anything with a laser in it, you have to make sure not to blow towards the laser AT ALL, because it blows dust under the lens. This you cannot clean out without taking the laser apart.

  • @JPRJAMES lasers in a box genius. Ever seen the inside of an xbox?

  • @TheHaloAwsome I used to repair them, I hate them. They are a pain in the ass. All the halo nerds begging and pleading. "Derrrrrrrr, pleez fix my XBOX sir"

BTW "GENIUS" the LASER reads the disk dingleberry! -_O

  • @JPRJAMES Oh no way you fucking moron stop being such a smart ass and jump off a bridge.

  • @TheHaloAwsome what's the matter dumbass? Don't like it when someone is a "smartass"? Think of me when the red ring of death blinks your machine. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH

    MWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAA

  • @JPRJAMES Okay that makes sense you know i bet your some over weight 30 year-old that is still living with his parents and won't get laid until he's 50 and has nothing better to do than get on youtube and troll on people so got fuck yourself and jump off a bridge. PS- Was that last part the sound of you sucking your moms dick?

  • shouldn't you use short burst instead of long burst?

  • You shouldnt use this, your not cleaning the back of the fans very good, and jamming a red tube into your 360 isnt a very safe thing to do, it might get alot of dust out, but its not the safest way by far.

  • theres nothing it can hit minus the fins on the cpu cooler. and the plastic oem fan that sucks

  • Thanks for the info dude!

I bought a can and cleaned mine today, but I didn't see too much dusting coming out.

  • How do you know if its a can of air or compressed air? Also wouldn't this have a chance of moving some of the smaller parts out of place?

  • i used it to fix the open tray problem for my xbox and it worked pretty good but some brands might have compressed air.

  • @Cricket682

exactly, so if its covered with a metal casing, you have nothing to worry about with the wires and everything inside. and if you mean the dust would have nothing to do with the xbox freezing because its surrounded by a metal casing, wrong again. there would be no point of putting fans in the casing if the xbox360 didnt need air flow throughout the case.

  • OH Yea those crappy little plastic fans do so0o0o0o0o0o much, thats why overheating NEVER happens. thank God for thaose fans cause they do SOOOOOO much

  • the fans actually do a decent job, its just that theyre in a shitty place.

most of the overheating, such as the 3 RROD is from the other side of the GPU

  • shit ive been using a lawn blower to clean mines and it still works fine lol 3 yrs now =]

  • sweet, i have dust covering my heat sensor in my xbox, so it always thinks its over heating, so hopefully it will work now!

  • wont you hit wires inside

  • why dont you just open up ur xbox and clean it out.. its alot safer, all ur doing is spreading da dust everywhere.

  • because if you did youd probably lose your warranty good idea tho lol

  • Thanks for the help! :)

  • if i were u i dont think ANY1 should do this. 3 reasons.

    1. It says on the 360 warranty and guidelines, DO NOT USE COMPRESSED AIR! which the canned air is.

    2. Due to the force of the air the air could knock out some of the important "items" such as the GPU card and the lens, thus screwing it up anymore.

    3. Your house probably isnt THAT dirty to really make a difference. The dust would have to be an inch thick to make a diff. my 360 does freeze once in a while, but its due to the hosts connec.

  • The choice is yours. However, keep in mind that the compressed air they are referring to is from an air compressor that contains moisture. I would never use an air compressor. A can of air is certified for electronic use and does not produce much force but enough to loosen the dust. Many others have replied with great success using this simple procedure that has eliminated freezing during game play.

  • By the way, dust mainly comes from the outside via pollen, etc when the doors or windows are open. You would have to live in a plastic bubble to keep dust out.

  • @Korndude4561 Nope, my xbox doesnt have an inch of dust and it still overheats. And for that same reason.

  • @Korndude4561 You don't really know how the inside of a device like that looks and is right?

  • @Korndude4561 wjo give a fuck a xbox is what 300$ no big deal if it break just buy a new one

  • @Korndude4561 I work as a professional PC Tech and I can tell you everybody uses compressed air to clean the dust out of PCs, EVERYBODY. As long as you make sure it's not blowing any moisture, you're good to go. And anyone who lives in a house with any wood or metal working going on in the basement knows how dusty everything gets in a month, so cleaning cleaning electronics regularly is a must.

  • sweet i do the same thing every month to my 360

  • this wouldn't damage the inside?

  • is a vacum hose good???????

  • Comment removed

  • Will using a fan work too??????cause thats all i got and will removing the faceplate make any difference????

  • when should i do this ....i mean as in like should i do this once a month or once a week?

  • dude thank u, now my xbox is a lot less noisy and i´s cooler.

  • lolz no

  • No but there are alot of videos that work for that on youtube

  • go buy one at a meijer

  • yay, now theres dust EVERYWHERE in it covering everything in it but your heatcink in it now. how about you just open it all the way. you were just about all the way apart...

  • it wont have as much pressure, maybe if you have an air compressor you could try that.

  • I just found one of those cans in my closet, I want to try this but I can't tell if dust is causing my frequent 2 red rings. What shoud I do?

  • try it any way, you have nothing to loose except a can of air.

  • sometimes that happens to me but just make sure everything is in tight and plugged in. Thats what happens to me when something isnt plugged in. Hope it helped!

  • only problem is, i dont exactly know what is wrong with my xbox, and taking it apart would ruin my chance at a warranty

  • no dude that not help...YOU GOT TO OPEN THE XBOX PIECE BY PIECE because now ur just blowing dust IN your xbox 360 dude... or just a little trick, do that when the xbox 360 is OFF/(ON)

  • I had the two red rings and i did this and it fine, i havent had the two red rings since thanks

  • thats bad your really not cleaning it your just blowing more dust in and it builds up just use a vacuum safer and less time!

  • a vacuum seriusly no

  • doesnt that effect the xbox in enyway spraying compressed air into the xbox?

  • Lol start blowing

  • would this work for the e 73 error thingy

  • no it wouldnt e 73 is proggramming fault i think

  • wait can someone tell me what to exzactly use to get the dust out just like the dude is showing because my games keeps freezing when i go to the gameplay it sucks

  • Should I use this method for my Xbox360 power brick? There is a ton of dust in their causing static and heat build up and I don't want to damage it.

  • it says in the xbox 360 manual NOT to use compressed air to clean it.....

  • just penetrate every hole in their and spray your stuff in their

  • @GameKing14X thats what she said...

  • wouldnt it be better for it to open the 360 half ways

  • Im poor, I cant afford a can of air. How can i dust it now?

  • hahahahahahahahahahahhaha you just gave me a laugh for a lifetime.

  • your a life saver 5 stars

  • this shit works, i haven't had any crashes since i started doing this!!!!i i recommend this to everybody

  • who the fuck reads the manual..

  • Compressed air is fine, just don't turn it upside down, sideways, or anything like that, just right-side up.

  • nobody gives a shit

  • LOL WAT A FAG

  • DUDE my xbox is not loud anymore!

    thanks!!!

  • when i have games in, my xbox 360 scratches the disc up, and the reader is not as good as it could be. would this be because of dust??

  • Oh, also this could possibly cause dust in the disc drive causing unreadable discs.

  • Theres a few things you need to mention, dont put the can upside down, and make sure the console has been off for a long time, because the air is cold and the console is hot, this could cause cracking of parts inside. Do not vacuum the console or the power brick, it creates static electricity and it killed my brick.

  • where do u get that air thing?

  • NICE, this fixed my Xbox 2 Red Rings : ), KEEP ER CLEAN BOYZZ

  • how does it void the warrenty when he never broke the seal

  • I could do this, but i'm afraid the compressed air will shift parts in the Xbox which could fuck it up. Unless I don't shove it in all the way, then get a vacuum and suck out the vents. Does that sound like a good idea?

  • compressed air cannot move bolted components.. if that was the case, we'd have a 90% fail rate, due to stuff falling out..

also, NO dont vacuum that does harm

  • i dint do that cos my warranty was up i dint care so i just took the 360 apart and blew the whole motherboard and fans and it works fine now NOTE: i only did this cos the warranty was up and had rrod it works fine now

  • Thanks man. I just got two red light again. Which, as you know, means my 360 is over heating. So, I think this is probably the best way to clean it out so it doesn't happen again.. well at least until I have to clean it again. Anyway, thanks again 5 stars. Take care.

  • I usually keep the area around my 360 very clean at all times. Being that its an electronic, it attracts dust so I put something over it, such as plastic, to prevent dust from accumulating inside/on the vents. Though when you play your 360, dust gets in anyways, so I would suggest to just remove all the face plates and use the power of a vacum to clean out all the vents....Guess you can call me paronoid, but hell I dont wanna see that red light of shit on my 360.

  • wont this mess up the components inside the 360 pls reply

  • Comment removed

  • sexy...

  • Also when your not using your xbox360 i usally just put a towl over it so dust dosent get into it :)

  • That will just attract even more dust... >->

  • It stops Dust from going inside retard. Yous so dumb.

  • No it does not, next time you doit shake the towel off and see how much dust comes off. Theres a reason you shouldnt put a 360 on carpet/towels etc... Retard.

  • Your obviously not a good listener as the video states this is an alternative for those who do not wish to dissasseble their 360. By the way, provide only mature posts.

  • how much do the cans cost some1 msg me thnks

  • the cans cost like 4 bucks

  • kewl

  • how do u know if its safe for the 360
