But no Polynesian Island kept slaves; at least not in the way we define slaves - people being made to work/opressed against their will. It is said Samoa was the true motherland to which all the other islands were discovered. But no Polynesian Island kept slaves; at least not in the way we define slaves - people being made to work/opressed against their will. Instead the losing side submits themselves willingly; almost like a service debt to be paid off, not being enslaved. It's different for each island but it ain't lifetime slavery; tradition says you die, give resources or serve for a time or etc. Not hatin just educating.
