  • Thanks for your reply Paul. I do love that shade of red myself. Thanks for the info.

  • Great painting. Why do you often start with a red background? Beginner asking..................

  • @Adrianacreates well...because red is the magic color ;) i like the way it (the underpainting or primer coat) shines through, it provides a warm mood to the piece and it is a way of harmonizing the painting..i like a certain kind of red for figure/landscape painting, but use blue and green for other things like nocturne painting or if i want a cooler mood.. i talk about it in another video & there is even more to it than that; i should make another vid about it since everyone is always asking.

  • Another great figure study Paul.

I love your style of painting =)

    5 stars!

  • amazing Paul. Art is always an interpretation of the real; it is the interpretation that makes it real. I can see that u really love the female form. Your admiration and love of the female form comes through beautifully in your work. Bloody amazing, mate; one of these days I am going to own a Paul Cumes painting and it will have pride of place in my house. I think your paintings are bloody beautiful, especially your nudes. all the best mate, john
