If an American company needs people who can speak Spanish to talk to clients in the Spanish speaking countries, who do you think that company will hire? I listed those countries as examples. I didn't mean only those languages of course. And I also meant Americans collectively, not each individually. Americans knowing just one other language - whether Spanish, French, Germans, or another of the many world languages - would be a great thing.

Computer software can translate documents into other languages, but it can't build rapport with people. Companies may or may not do business based on relationships built. To do so, it helps to communicate.
