  • lol....he is practicing kicks, his highest kick would kick me in the balls. No disrespect to danzig, but that guy is one short dude lol

  • K when Glenn got punched the dude was fucking a foot taller then him and had about 200 more pounds on him, obviously Glenn would have gotten knocked the fuck out either wat, but if you say he can't fight then you are a moron, cause that man survived all of his misfits shows. And all of those shows were rowdy as fuck, Glenn can handle himself. And he could probably take on a lot of people. So don't talk.

  • I a big fan of Glenn's music, but if you push someone, you better be ready for a fight.

  • backfist in a real fight=death this aint enter the dragon its the real world...

  • @sirmiklo Backfist, while not the best move has been done by really talented folk in real fights.

  • @poopscoop616 Like most negative comments on here, you're mis-informed. Did he learn something? He started taking JKD BECAUSE he got knocked out! Atleast he was smart enough to recognize!

  • @joedrock1 This video was filmed wayyyy before he got knocked down.

  • Angry midget, mad at the world

  • Danzig got a haymaker to the face, it wasnt a "fight" sure mistake to push someone and not expect too get hit, but in a real "fight" id be willing to put my money on danzig. So i mean he never even assumed a fighting stance, you cant judge how danzig fights based of the video, it couldve happened too anyone. And theres no cardio you can do for the chin, if your hit hard enough, your done, idc if your brock lesnar or not.

  • @blackrad101 well, you said it. it was a mistake to not expect that, especially after pushing the guy for christ's sake.

  • I certainly agree with what you're saying.

I'm into Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do,and the first thing I said was,

he should't have pushed him to begin with,

that always leaves an opening, however small.

But you have to remember this video is quite old,

and NOONE really always wins a fight,if you call it that.

I'm not saying that Glen is not still practicing Jeet Kune Do,

he's a goddamn genious after all.

I just think this whole retarted "knock out" video is fucking ridiculous. Hmph

    L9

  • @blackrad101 I figured he took it up after the incident, that's supposed to be where JKD shines. Maybe it was ego?

  • @Donatellangelo yah danzig has an ego for sure, just because you learn jkd doesnt mean you are going to be good at it, i think he has a huge ego problem. but i like his music

  • @blackrad101 you are right that he didnt have time to get into a fighting stance, but he drew first blood.... he pushed the guy, so he had to expect a reaction.......

  • @blackrad101 you are right that he didnt have time to get into a fighting stance, but he drew first blood.... he pushed the guy, so he had to expect a reaction.......

  • @blackrad101

"he never even assumed a fighting stance"

Bullshit if he didn't. He squared up and was ready to defend the response to his aggression.

He even began to make a lame attempt at a block.

I don't think he actually thought dude would fight back. I think he thought he would just get to push somebody, act like a bigshot, and walk away a hero.

I guess he learned life does not always work that way.

  • @outlaw6066 THEY DIDNT SHOW THE REST OF THE VIDEO WHERE GLENN GRABS THAT FAT FUCKER AND MAKES A PORKCHOP SANDWICH OUT OF HIS FAT ASS.

  • GLEN DANZIG AS WOLVERINE!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheWeaponx9 He definitely "had" the looks for it. His shorter proportions are much more accurate to the comic Wolverine than Hugh Jackman, Hugh is too tall, but glenn's a bit too old now, and prolly can't act worth shit, prolly...

  • danzig punched chuck norris in the face, than his hand broke

  • I thought he was doin muay thai.........I thought it was cool cuz I do it too.

  • @Born2Rock1987 Glenn has studied JKD for years. I am a bb in TKD but I wished I trained in JKD.

  • @Born2Rock1987 he does muay thai as well

  • whats up with all the kiddie fags always talking about how he got knocked down?...so what?...99% of all of you including me would NOT have been standing after that huge black dude hit us....i swear kids today are nothin but talk and about MMA BS......its pathetic, you guys are the SOLE reason music today sucks suitcases full of cocks...miley,bibar,that fag scream emo metal crap...all your guys doing...danzigs awesome and a real musician..hands down

  • @BlakeTahoe The irony behind him getting knocked down was he started the fight. He tried to bully the guy and got decked. Danzig's ok, but anytime someone trying to be a hard ass gets put in his place its all good to me ! Stop sounding off at "kids today" In your day was it ok to try and bully someone like Danzig did to the black dude? Why don't you defend his music and not his actions?

  • @bennygroth No, Danzig WASN'T the bully. That guy (who isn't black, BTW) was trying to get in Glenn's face and harass him in front of his fans over some bullshit that wasn't his fault, and that he could do nothing about, while one of his own guys was secretly filming it. The film only shows what those guys harassing Danzig WANT people to see, & the guy wouldn't leave him alone. THEY were the bullies, who tried to get 1their 5 min. of fame at Danzig's expense.

  • @LordSeverian I don't know what video you were looking at Mr. Lord, but the guy was asking him why he didn't go on later so the other bands could to perform. Danzig did try and bully the guy by shoving him. Don't you think thats a bully tactic by shoving a somebody? He just wasn't ready for the comeback. The guy looked like a fat out of shape punk. Thats why Danzig felt comfortable enough to shove him and thats the ironic part of the confrontation. Danzig made a mistake. We all do.

  • @bennygroth Danzig was under contract to play at a certain time that night, & it wasn't his fault some bands didn't get to play earlier. The guy thought he was going to play after Danzig's set, but people started to take down the stage afterwards, which Danzig had nothing to do with. The guy was harassing Danzig AFTER the show & causing trouble, for something he didn't know & could do nothing about, instead of going to management like he should have.

  • @bennygroth Also, that guy (who was 6+ in. taller & 50+ pounds heavier, as well as 20 years younger) admitted in later interviews that he was looking to "confront that motherfucker" -- Danzig -- after the show. Also, he deliberately had his own guy secretly filming the confrontation -- which casts doubt on the purity of the guy's motives.

Yes, Danzig probably made a mistake in this case, but the other guy was NOT an "innocent victim" or "hero", either.

  • @LordSeverian

I don't know where your sources are coming from..but the incident looked pretty spontaneous to me. And a punch would have not been thrown if Danzig didn't shove the guy. You respond like you were there on the night in question. If you weren't anything that you read about the incident could just be damage control thrown out there by Danzig's people.

  • @bennygroth I've read interviews the NSK guy himself did w/ various online punk fanzines after the incident, where he said he wanted his guy to get footage of him confronting Danzig. He himself stated the facts of what happened that night, & acted like Danzig personally "owed" him something -- it wasn't "spin" put out by Danzig's people.

  • @bennygroth Also, the vid starts on the middle of the conversation, AFTER the guy had already been there awhile -- you can hear someone say "Please -- go away!" at the start. If he kept harassing Glenn after he said "Sorry, can't help you" -- which is the impression I got from the fat guy's interviews -- then he was bullying. (you can also hear Danzig ask "Why aren't you out there playing now?", which shows he didn't know what the guy was talking about.)

  • @LordSeverian OK..there are always two sides to a story, especially when a physical confrontation takes place. What your saying makes perfect sense. Only the fat dude and his crew know if they were looking to set up Danzig. But if you say they were quoted in an interview then yes they are not as innocence as the video showed. But two things took place that Danzig should have control of..1) He should have sent the guy to the promoter..2) He should have had security/manager to shield him.

  • @Lord Severian Also..Danzig was verbally aggressive with the guy...but I guess he was just sick of the dude dogging him. The Most important error was committed to the shove and should have been prepared for retaliation. He stood there with his hands literally at his sides thinking the guy was nothing..big mistake. Thanks for a further insight to the infamous Danzig video. I never heard the story behind the video...

  • @LordSeverian

Also...the guy was taller and heavier...but if you looked at the two before a potential fight..most would have picked Danzig by build alone. The fat guy looked out of shape and untrained while Danzig looked like a monster.

  • :D he was really cute when he was younger

  • JKD has a basis of wing chun/Ving Tsun, pntak silat and arnis. He knew other chinese chuan fa styles and properly also used chin na techniques. basically he would ignore MMA since it's false posturing, after all he was used to fighting for his life on the streets of hong kong which are still dangerous. No need for stupid reality tv.

  • If bruce lee was still alive i think he would divide his time between an mma gym and a shooting range

  • Glenn is a artist not a Martial artist . and he's like 5'7". He def should not try to hit security .. He should def keep his day job. I'm just sayin.. And I like Danzig.

  • Royce Gracie for life!! Original no holds barred bare knuckle champion

BJJ all the way i say.

  • es un boludo a cuerda, pero que bien canta

  • He's so sexy. ^_^

  • Danzig with the martial arts knowledge of Bruce Lee!?!?!?

Who will survive, and what will be left of them?

  • @mnyfrsh

    Oh my God. LOL.

    I thought the same. xD

  • @mnyfrsh

    nice white zombie reference there.

  • Bruce's greatest assets in fighting were not his technical abilities, but his focus, his ambition, his capacity for adaptation, and his tireless dedication to training. If Bruce honestly couldn't beat a UFC fighter, he'd take a step back and learn what he needed to do to change that; then he'd simply go about his training until he was ready, and finally, he'd go and take his win.

  • Maybe he shoulda used some a dat when he got knocced the fucc out...

  • Bruce Lee did know jiu jitsu, judo, muay thai, and did work around those styles. See, it is better too be proficient at one style than halfass at 6 different ones. essentially, training to fight a wrestler, BJJ guy, muay thai guy, AS a JKD guy, can be more efficient than training BJJ Muay Thai etc. JKD is Western boxing, Wing Chun, and Fencing, all modified, and thats IT. No Silat or muay thai or jiu jitsu, that is a misconception, however JKD deals with fitting into all forms and all styles.

  • Glenn you've done it AGAIN ! i am motivated to live a fuller life

  • he cannot teach you but show you

  • I take it that all u slagging glenn off are super sportsmen or professors??? if not fuck up!!!!

  • How come all these metal dudes are black belts in this or that and then you hear about them getting their asses kicked by some fat roadie? There's even a video of this guy getting flattened by some guy's wild punch, while standing in his JKD stance. So much for Bruce Lee handing down the legacy. Real karate men don't brag about it.

  • @tempofreak69 Just because you have a Black Belt in anything dont mean you can fight....

  • That pertains to tae kwondo or traditional martial arts. A black belt in BJJ or muay thai, will fuck ur average joe up. ENd of story. Even a good wrestler can fuck shit up. Look at the situation in where danzig got knocked out, a bunch of people were aroudn him, he pushed the guy and had his hands down, he obv expected the fat dude to back down.

  • @Stifledsubmission Exactly you can definitely read between the lines....

  • @LRGHMN

........That's the most retarded thing that anybody has ever said.

  • Bruce Lee was a movie actor

  • he can't lowkick for shit!

  • didn't help him when he got KO'd HA ! HA !

  • @mingofilaz because being in your 50s has nothing to do with anything.

  • @KenSushi Ya ! That's a great observation ! One would think that at 50 you wouldn't be pushing around people and picking fights anymore , I guess today's 50 is yesterday's 13 ? (in maturity years ) cheerio ! love to here from ya !

  • @mingofilaz I'm not talking about who started it, I could care less. It doesn't matter who was at fault. I'm just simply saying it's easy to knock out senior citizens.

  • You push me and I'm knocking you out !

  • @KenSushi Ya ! you sound like Danzig . . . a selfish prick who doesn't give a shit who's fault it was . Danzig's a poser , a pretender , all bark , no bite . He got KO'd cause he stood there posing like that was gonna scare anyone down !

  • @mingofilaz Goddamn I can't tell if you're really that dense or if you're trolling. In any case you're an idiot, and goodbye.

  • @KenSushi What's there to figure out ? I think Danzig got what he was looking for , a fight . He was the JKD expert , the tough guy ,the big talker . He got shut up ! May he be a lesson to 50 year old posers . 50 year olds get knocked out too . Are you too stupid to figure that out ? or do you have a man-crush on Danzig ?

  • @mingofilaz Glenn Danzig is a big jerk that's for sure But he is also the inventor of the horror punk genre and he is (was) an awesome singer. You gotta give him some musical respect dude.

  • @Vittumikajatka Musical respect ? Never listened to him . All I know is that he was a singer with an attitude that got punched out . I first heard bout him from an MTV show called " Biggest Rock Falls From Grace , or Biggest Rock Scandals " anyway this was about 3 weeks ago . i liked Bad Company

  • @mingofilaz Are you saying that you've never heard of a band called The Misfits?

  • @Vittumikajatka Are you stupid ? Did you understand what i wrote ? or are you being an ass hole ? Are you telling me that the Misfits were so ground breaking that you don't believe it's possible that someone may not have heard bout them ! ha ! ha ! ha !

  • @Vittumikajatka i actually like his stuff and what he stood for , too bad he had to get ko'd on video ! hey even Tyson did . At least he didn't shoot someone or did something cowardly . We win some and loose some .

  • @mingofilaz Truth is HE NEVER GOT KNOCKED OUT. He took a punch, went down and could be seen on one knee through the crowd. Then the guy who hit him ran off as Glenn got shuffled into his dressing room. But people love to say he got KO'd when it never happened. That's people for you- they love to talk shit about people.

  • @Dangerous2099 OK he got bitch slapped and he deserved it...

  • @LRGHMN Hardly, he's the coolest mf ever.

  • that's great that he got into jkd... but when the next video on the play next screen is him getting flattened by someone who wasn't even looking for trouble, makes you think he missed some of the basic principals Bruce Lee's system was created for in the first place. sorry to all the fans out there, but this video is and was a pose...

  • Awesome, I thought he was into boxing all of these years but this is badass.

  • i hate when people say he is a pussy for getting one punched anyone can get one punched this guy is fuckin huge wrestled alligators and runs with wolves doesnt sound like a pussy to me

  • BRUCE LEE'S MARCIAL ART!!!!!!!!!!

  • Danzig reeks of Elvis--Elvis was into martial arts. I love Danzig, but I think he's more of an expert in "skeet poon do" than jeet kun do lol.

  • LOL!

  • @bdmru1980 yup - Dr J was into martial arts too...... so Danzig is just like Dr. J...... interesting logic.....

  • so damn beautiful.

  • @Jessslove93 mmmm i'm drooling :p

  • Damn, he gotta be really young here?

  • Audacity Danzig Mother....I hope u like it!

  • Yeah, Bruce Lee rules:)

  • i saw glen tear someones jaw bone off

  • I seened it!

  • Looks like Bret Hart

  • lmao haha he totally does!

omg...so does that mean bruce lee holds the true secret to the sharpshooter?

  • mma right now have rules ... limitation but at the same time its better... less dangerous

  • TELL EM GLENN!!!!!!!

  • Bruce lee when he said he did'nt believe in styles. ALmost like MMA today. There no one style... Awsome..

  • Glenn has a good head on his shoulders

  • On the street, JKD may be useful, but it has no value in the UFC. It would be like pitting an early 1900s martial artist against someone who has had one hundred years to learn and grow in boxing, wrestling, and jiu-jitsu.

What I mean is Saunders and Boetsch may be from a JKD background, but they discarded it when they realized it's not too effective, just as Chuck Lidell is from a Kenpo karate background, but I don't see him using too many "throat chops," and "heel-palm smashes" to the temple.

  • What is even more pertinent is that many JKD schools are looking more like MMA combined with weapons training (Silat/Arnis).

JKD is not a style per se---it's a codified philosophy, a cluster of concepts.

Without Lee's contributions I would have never met Hartsell (rip) or Inosanto, but it seems so many still believe Lee was the perfect fighter. I think he would have done well in Vale Tudo at his weight class, but the real question is if he could really fight on the street. There are . .

  • . . . too many nutriders out there who buy into the myths and stories about him. There are people who attest he was fast and fluid but Lee never stepped onto the mat or into the ring professionally. We'll never know how he would have fared.

  • I agree with your assessment.

I'm not doubting Lee's contribution to martial arts. In fact, his impact probably can't be OVERestimated. When I interviewed one of the greatest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors in the world, Pedro Sauer, he told me that the reason he began training in martial arts was because he saw Bruce Lee in the movies. Today, of course, the Brazilians laugh about how they wish they could have gotten hold of Bruce to see how his JKD would have served him. Probably not too well.

  • "today" bruce would probably be an even more evolved and advanced martial artist than he was then. He'd probably know BJJ inside out. You can't set the people of the past up against the people of today.

  • I agree with you completely. Bruce sought out good systems and their principles. He would have been training with the Gracies 20 years ago. Before he died he and Dan Inosanto were looking into Penchak Silat.

  • @Oreomeister

Mr. Lee would have been 70 this coming November. I very seriously doubt he would be doing anything except Tai Chi.

  • This is a good point; in most of the Bruce/UFC "who would win" arguments, so many people think Bruce would be out of his league. Such arguments implicitly assume that Bruce would be using only JKD against the MMA guy. I understand that a lot of people really just want to see modern fighting styles against Bruce and his JKD. However, I think a more interesting match-up would be between a modern MMA fighter and a Bruce Lee who was first given time to adapt to the new climate of MMA

  • @brandonman2109 JKD by the nature of what it is would be incorporating what MMA has taught us about fighting. that is what JKD is. To me MMA is the sport, and JKD is the philosophy of the sport. If you train jkd, then you train in using what is useful and discarding what is not. That is exactly what MMA is. His style did not look like what MMA does now because modern fighting had not evolved to such a point yet. To me, people who consider JKD a "style" of fighting don't understand JKD.

  • @Oreomeister You can say you train JKD, but you could be saying you train mixed martial arts and say basically the same thing. A JKD practitioner will simply understand the philosophy of MMA more and attempt to progress the sport my being creative. People like Jon Jones who use creative techniques are practitioners of JKD imo.

  • @Oreomeister Yeah, I agree. I'm not sure if you were trying to correct something I said, or simply commenting further; so I'll just make a few points. In my post, I didn't say JKD and MMA are mutually exclusive, and I didn't call JKD a style. You'll note that when describing the hypothetical scenario, I referred to "Bruce and his JKD," (to avoid calling it "his style") and the hypothetical opponent as a "modern MMA fighter," noting that the main difference is just that he's a modern fighter.

  • @brandonman2109 Yes I see that. I may have misinterperted it a bit but it does seem 99% of the world misconstrues JKD so uh...consider it a more general statement,.

  • @Oreomeister Haha, cool. You are right, in general, by the way, as far as I'm concerned.

  • "just as Chuck Lidell is from a Kenpo karate background, but I don't see him using too many "throat chops," and "heel-palm smashes" to the temple."

He also should have brushed up on orthodox boxing and the clinch from Muay Thai. At his peak his footwork was great but Chuck kept his head open WAY too much. The fights with Rampage and Sugar are a testament to that.

  • JKD has nothing to do with what Lee did in the movies. JKD is essentially what MMA is today. I don't know why you compare the JKD of the past with the MMA of today. Obviously JKD would have evolved with the sport, it WAS evolving. Heck, if Lee was still alive we might just call them JKD competitions instead of MMA competitions. JKD embodies the philosophy that MMA is. The sport is a take on the philosophy, and it is ever evolving. People like machida show that.

  • As the sport evolves, it will embody the JKD philosophy more and more. It will incorporate from a wider range of martial arts, and eventually the lines of the martial arts will blur. The results will simply be: the most effective fighting techniques in any given situation. I think MMA and JKD should be taught hand in hand. Here's the sport, and here is the philosophy that it has been build upon, and will continue to evolve into. JKD is the ultimate perfection of MMA in the future.

  • Bruce was in great shape and had great ideas, but he never REALLY fought anyone (except in 2nd and 3rd-hand accounts which should be taken with a grain of salt). Sure, you can cite Wikipedia, though.

He had a profound influence on martial arts, but what he did -say it with me- was CHOREOGRAPHED. The guy would have been destroyed by a top boxer or legit wrestler of his day. But he did have a mean 1 inch punch that could knock a guy through a brick wall and into a car which would then explode.

  • ...I was talking about JKD, not how bruce fought.

  • Oh, okay.

  • I think Lee constantly pushed to honestly express himself as he put it. I don't think he himself bought into the hype that was forming around him but I think he could hold his own. His biggest impact in the MA world is not to have limitations because of traditional style and he was a living example of how well that worked for him.

  • he wasn't allowed to compete in tournaments because opponents refused to fight him.

  • @SYNDICADO who danzig hahah just kidding

  • @SYNDICADO Why did they refuse to fight him?

  • well how do you feel about Krav-Maga it is a combination of pretty much every thing that works in a combat situation. I dont think it has to much in the way of ground stuff I really dont remember.

  • Krav Maga is nothing but very basic essentials of self defense. It isn't developed, original, or in-depth enough to be considered a martial art or unique fighting style in any manner. It's more or less the joke of the martial arts realm.

  • I think that Bruce lee was ahead of his times. street fighting is rough and you must train for everything.

  • Bruce Lee has been considered by UFC president Dana White as the "father of mixed martial arts"

For examble; Ben Berserk Saunders and Tim Boetsch are from JKD background.

  • @DoyleTalbot and bruce didnt have tattoos imagine. i wonder who the mother of mixed martial arts is? i guess the mother of mixed martial arts is randy couture

  • Whoever said JKD is not "For the ring" is clueless. JKD isn't highly represented in the UFC because there aren't many schools or camps that have access to successful JKD teachers. This only means that JKD has not been heavily incorperated into MMA because MMA is has not evolved to its potential yet.

JKD is easily one of the best striking styles due to it's versitility.

JKD is at least as good as Muay Thai.

JKD is a better style than traditional Boxing. Fact.

  • Not to sound like a jerk or a hater but....this is a very old video...

Danzig is 53 years old now....he'll be 54 in june.

This video is likely from late 80's or very early 90's.

  • I'm The Real deal MMA guy, and JKD is 100% MMA.

I have been a part of the Lions den 8 Years and A Traditional Martial Artist 30 years,,,and Danzig is cool but Rollins would still School him Street style

  • Okay, you know what. i'm sick of all these MMa guys putting dow traditional stuuf.. If it was for trafitional there wouldn't be MMA. And guess what you cant use MMa on the street. What works in the ring wont work on the street with multiple attackers and weapons

  • if you go all out - you may not turn into Bruce - but you will get results - good advice - good vid.

  • I like glenn cos he is so cool cos hes in the third greatsest punk band ever behind Sex pistols and the Ramones.

  • check out the minutemen

  • oh my god!he is so fucking sexy...and his voice........

  • This is why I respect Glenn a lot more than other rock artists from his era. He was one of the few that didn't glorify self destruction through alcohol and drugs, but actually wanted progression. And his father was a WWII era Marine. He's good to go in my book.

  • a lot of ppl will take muay thai shorts, over conventional trunks, bc of the freedom offered. Anderson Silva is a big muay thai equip wearer... that guy is blinding fast too!

  • yea, glenn used to train in muay thai before jkd. i read it in an interview someplace.

  • It looks like muay thai at 5 seconds...hes also in the muay thai shorts.

  • What year was this from? Glenn looks pretty young.

  • bruce lee only certified 3 people in his life on jkd..he had many students only 3 certified not five

  • Um Yeah He looks real good at it. them kicks looked top notch

  • Bruce Lee handed Jeet Kune Do down to ALOT more than 5 people. He was a teacher and had many students.

  • I think Glenn knows what he's talking about.

  • i agree with Danzig; my Husband informed me of an eastern saying something like "in every endeavor, strive for perfection", anyway, that's how we see it..

  • martial arts and metal go hand in hand in my life.

    =)

  • I love him...

  • He could kick sum 1z butt

  • Glenn Danzig is fucking huge now and he's in his 50's. Same with Doyle Von Frankenstien. He's a beast and he's in his 50's. So START WORKING OUT!!!

  • How about a bout, Doyle Vs Danzig ... wait, they are friends, how about Jerry Only Vs Danzig! Its probably what Danzig's training for, waiting till he's got half a chance against Only lol. Damn that'd be fun to see.
