NOTE: the series 1, 2.0 litre petrol has the conventional canister type. trust the car shop to give me the wrong type. Also every one the the 6 splash guard bolts sheared off due to rust on a four year old car. Had to dril and retap them. Plus the splash guard soundproffing sepearated from the plastic as the rivets for this had also rusted through. Hope the rest of the car is better quality!!!! absolutely appalling.
Very informative and clear. Glad I watched before I started this job on my dads car. Couldn't even find the filter housing. Off to buy the proper tool before starting now. And I now have the torque wrench setting too. Many Thanks!!! Darren

Do you also have to put a light coat of engine oil on the O-ring that is on the plastic filter housing?
