  • Everything gets better with time. Hang in there! It helps to know there are lots of people who have grown up with the same problems. I'm 25 and graduated college last year at the top of his class. Who someone is is who they are. A tip - I also have poor spelling and I've found that 95% of the time Google will tell you the right way to spell a word if you misspell it in a search.

  • plz people i need ur help. seens i was born i was called lazy, slow, and bad at school. i hated going 2 school sooo bad that i protended i was always sick. my parents always use to talk about how good and smart my bro and sister wer. i feelt so dam and stupied. by the way im 23yrs and still find writting and spelling hard. i cant remmber numbers like math formulas and phone numbers. no matter how hard i try i could never remmber my phone number. my marks wer always bad.

  • @heyyo1987 sounds like you had it hard at school, a lot of people who are dyslexic and call lazy, so your defiantly not alone.

  • WOW, WHAT A REALLY SWEET UNDERSTANDING GAL. I WISH THERE WERE MORE PPL LIKE HER IN THE WORLD:)XO I TOO ,SUFFER FROM DYSLEXIA .SO I TRULY UNDERSTAND THE FRUSTRATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS CONDITION.

  • if you have the kate and paul voice they are much ezer to understand

  • Im 12 years old in 7th grade and i am now begging to notice some simptoms um i say things backwards my eyes cross when i look at my paper it very hard

  • people with dyslexia should for groups and find strength in numbers.........finally.....

dyslexics of the world could be untied!!

  • i have dyslexia and i am 13, i play hockey nd i feel it helps me get away from school and reading and seplling

  • god yeh I do hate having to scan books in! but no I don't really find the voice annoying over time I got use to it, have you played around with the speed it talks and tried all the voice?

  • @MISSMEGGYBOOBOO - yes have tried playing around with the voices, mabey if i just use it more it will help.

  • please tell me you have claimed off DSA about your dyslexia through your uni??? you can get all kinds of useful softwares to help with your uni work! I always use the software that reads to you! its fantastic! If you haven't please let me know and I'll help you get it!

  • @MISSMEGGYBOOBOO - i have got it, but the voice is not good, makes me tune out big time, also most of what i read is in books and i'm really lazy as i can't be bothered scanning lodes and lodes. if i think it's really importent i will give it a go, what i really need is a real person to read to me. does the electric voice not bother you?

  • something! Just trust me, it will get better and one day you will use dyslexia to your advantage and forget about other people’s nasty comments! Be proud to have dyslexia, you are amazing, remember that! :-)

(I am a young artist, pianist and current study psychology at university and I made sure NO one got in my way! )

Sorry for so many comments, youtube limits you with the number of characters you can type. Ireally had to say all this!!!!

  • @MISSMEGGYBOOBOO - very honist comments, thank you. It's really cool that you are similar to me. I do infact have a spelling book were I wright in words i find the correct spelling for and words I spell wrong all the time i have post it notes of all around my bed room so I get used to seeing the correct spelling. My reading I'de say is the biggist issue, I can't decode so i see something as stupid as this sounds I never lernt my phonics, so i see somthing and if I don't reconise the

  • @MISSMEGGYBOOBOO written word as making a full word I don't know how to work out what it says. as I'm shore you know being at uni, it's a massive hinderence when trying to read academic stuff, it really gets me down when every other word is one I can't read. I do kind of see dysleixa as a gift, i used my expirence of being dyslexic to create a art work last year and so it had it's uses. There are times i'd love to just be able to spell and not think I'm stupid. Computers are the best invention.

  • @01stanbk and the worse, i rely on spell checker a lot, but it has helped becouse it makes me aware i'm spelling somthign wrong when other wise i might not notice. It's really good thought to hear from a dyslexic and your possitive out look on your diagnoise is really lovely.

  • to do is finding words to describe these pictures we see but this is extremely possible!! There are many movie makers, inventors, architectures, artists (the list goes on) that have dyslexia and because of this advantage they have created AMAZING things!

STOP STOP STOP thinking dyslexia is something bad! Pleassse! Yes you may be bad at spelling, sentence structure etc but WHO CARES?!! Find your strong point and use it to your highest advantage! Never ever EVER let ANYONE say you can’t do

  • "yes I have dyslexia therefore there are people and software’s that can help me improve" ALSO you do realise the benefits of dyslexia??? Most people don’t! I’ll explain….. we see things as pictures whereas other people see things in words...

Can you see the HUGE advantage of this??? With seeing things in pictures our mind is open to unbelievable possibilities of imagination, creativity and problem solving. It’s like the saying a picture speaks a thousand words! the only thing we have to learn

  • typing and you come up to a word you know you can’t spell (so spell it phonetically) STOP, look it up and keep it in a separate folder (the correct spelling), and continue to do this with every word. Eventually your notice the same words you spell wrong come up and then notice how they are structured correctly. Rehearsal is key in learning and if you familiarizing yourself to your mistakes eventually automatically your be spelling less words incorrectly.

My advice for you is thinking

  • the bullies at school! Thing is my spelling was horrendous, my sentence structure always got muddled up and my verbal skills were rubbish. BUT I only improved by spotting the errors and correcting them AND through practice! I developed ways of improving my spellings that suited me, and practiced explaining to my close friends and parents anything I had just learnt or heard to develop my verbal skills. This helped so much and improved my confidence! You spell phonetically but when your

  • Ok first of all I have dyslexia and when I was younger teachers didn’t understand what was wrong with me. Eventually I got tested and they found out I had dyslexia, I was extremelllly bad. But the first think I thought was “oh brilliant there’s an explanation as you why I process things differently than other people” not “oh great I have dyslexia, I hate my life”. I got tutoring and I have improved DRAMATICALLY over the years mostly because of my determination and to be like "screw you" to all

  • You're all sorts of fucked up, aren't you?

  • @iSNIFFpantiehoes - :-( I'de have like to think not. It's funny how a simple comment can effect someones whole emotional state. Mabey think before you speek? just a sagestion?

  • @iSNIFFpantiehoes stfu yur tha one whu iz lookin up these vids jerk! y dont yu go pick on coppercab instead! he actually cares bout wut ppl say!

  • @iSNIFFpantiehoes The only person that is, is you to say such a thing like that.... >:(

  • keep your head up i am dyslexic I find what your saying to be true for me i don't have the letters move somtimes i do skip and miss read alot too but i am in uni and i am doing microbiology theres hope it gets better well i have come up with ways of coping arrr lol i can't bloody spell.

  • I know a guy in my school thats dyxlexic, and so is my sisters friend. I know it can be hard and I understand that, I just don't understand like how you look at a word and how you read it., this wasnt meant to be rude if it came out like that i was just puzzled about it

  • @TheDellanator don't worrie you worn't rode, everyone who has dysleixa is different so there for how there dyslixia effects them is different. some people who are dyslixic will haredly show it becouse they have learnt stratiges to hide it from people, other people will be amazing writers or really enjoy reading. it's all about the indervidual, it can be complocated i think for a none dyslixic to understand but it's really incoraging that people like you are trying to find out :-)

  • @01stanbk yeah true :D

  • as i am a dyslexic i can understand what u r spelling

  • @UniqueCola - Thank you so much for a lovely comment. Sorry you were upset, people can be really nieve and thoughtless sometimes. Just rember you have soemthing specail they don't, your dyslexic and although that is incredibally difficult it also makes you that little bit more unique. good luck with your studies.

  • What a surprise to find that you have done this on YouTube! Mind you, you are full of surprises. Whatever difficulties dyslexia/asperges has thrown at you, you have overcome them in your own way, in your own time.

Your secret is that you know yourself. And you are very courageous and determined with it. Very proud of you. Dad.

  • lol what a name, i bet ben came up with that! well to be honist i just fed up with people comiting on my spelling and i think youtube needs somthing thats someones personal view of dyslexia and i have a story to tell so why not tell it! that was my thory anyway

    you're amazing (:

  • aww thank you

  • Well done Katie, this must have been very difficult for you to do. I hope it helps other people with dyslexia and asperges, and helps your audience to understand the problems, and for us to know how confident you have become in tackling the immense problem. - Patricia Stanbridge
