....was no more that coincidence but then the person i was with asked for a different sign on this i and i alone heard a bell within the confinds of the abbey but faded like it was at a distance, when i found out it was only me that heard it i became pritty dam spoked and said that i had to leave, when leaving the person i was with said jokingly "imagine if thay where watching us leave" as we turned to look at the abbey we both saw the figure that has been captured here only not in that ...

around five years ago i lived in tintern and was pursued to go over to the abbey on a ghost hunt, as a non beleaver i went but was very skeptical to say the least. on arriving the person i was with started to do the usual "most haunted" wowo shit,. asking for a sign ect i remember it as tho it was yesterday as this was the point i went from sinical sceptic to believer, the first 4 call-outs the wind came thru the abbey or stop respectively, at this point i was still telling my self that it ...

Looks pretty genuine to me - there wouldn't be "black boards" across windows at tintern abbey - its not that sort of place! Doesn't look like the sun was out either so we can rule out shadows.

I thought it was a monk on the left and I felt it was a woman on the right. When I next go home to England I think I will be taking more photos. I went to Canterbury Cathedral and took lots of pics inside. Trouble is some of the photos do have someone in, but I cant be sure they arent tourists. Usually I wait until people pass out of the picture . I suppose thats one thing to make double sure the area is clear before taking a photo.

The one on the left is definitely just the opening in the window. But the one on the left...Im not so sure. Might be something in front of the window, might not be.

@kyprosal1 Yes, but you can get ghosts in all colours, have you ever heard of white ladies, blue ladies etc. Perhaps when an image is replayed over many hundreds of years as with a ghost the colours change like viewing a hologram.

i would like to add that tintern was an order of cistercian monks, they wore white robes and were also the warrior monks of the templars , i hardly see this as a ghost but who knows ... I live very close to this abbey and its a beautiful place , but was ransacked when Henry V111 chose to rewrite the biblical guidlines concerning marriage, many beautiful monuments were vandalised at that point in history.

This is an illusion. At the angle this the camera was shooting it picked up what looked like a monk. It is like looking in the clouds and seeing figures but we all know that it's not there. The area of this old building is like the rest of the bulding with holes and and sections in decay and ruin. Go back and look at it you will find that the hole is still there but if you look at it from a different angle it will not look like a monk. People want to believe.

we visted tintern abbey last week on a ghost hunt, we were chased out of the abbey by stones being thrown and also the sound of growling, the growling followed us everywhere we went, the stone throwing seemed more like poltigiest than pissed off monks.. i will visit again next week,

I took the liberty of freezing the frame to study the picture.I don't want to seem unencouraging but the shape you see there is actually the shadow of the window's reflecting off the wall.Though there is no glass in the windows,the shape is that of the window.The way the light enter's the window created the shadow.I hope this help's.Though it's an interesting picture,it's not the ghost of a monk.

Lovely location. Looks to me like a window that was partially boarded/covered, and there are large tears/breaks in the covering, which resemble monklike figures. I think it's quite clearly NOT ghosts. But, pretty footage -- thanks for sharing.

I used to live in taylor arizona and went for walks amongst the anasazi ruins. I was told that digging was not allowed but found many pieces of pottery on the ground along with a few mattats(sp?). Unfortunately you could tell that many people who had no respect for the land or the culture had been there because some areas are riddled with cigarrette butts and beer cans. Also tire tracks in places that clearly should be off limits to vehicles.

It looks more like the dark part of the room where the light can't reach the angle of the shot between the window and the column do make a shape and I don't think is really a ghost but the interpretation of one own mind.

inside is just a normal room, and there are no rocks, the walls are pretty flat from what i remember aswell

We can put the many old, jagged pillars and wals into context as to create shadows and contrast brightness upon other surfaces to create this illusion.

I think that the grey figure on the right looks like a monk, But the figure on the left appears to be wearing clothing that is a little more fancy? Were they meeting each other? I have a feeling that there is story behind this picture. It has the feel of an emotional residual haunting. Whatever these two were up to, It was emotionally charged and keeps replaying. The figure in black is facing the monk and the monk is turned sideways to it facing toward us.

Very convincing, but I wouldnt like to put it up on YT (Boys identity). I go jogging at 6am most mornings past 3oo year old buildings( old castle and a prison) and see diddly squat !
