Haney was definitely better. His body flows beautifully. Ronnie is gigantic but not graceful. It's size with beauty overall- NOT just size overall. Win= Haney.
i think haney has a more desirable body than ronnie, but ronnie is/was probably the biggest bodybuilder so far. Despite Haney having a more slender/small waist old school bodybuilder physique id have to say ronnie is better..even though i hate his body.

arnold is the best there ever was, thats why there is a comp called the arnold classic, thats why he is in movies, thats why his name is still remembered and used to often 30 years after his time. no one will ever compare, u ask one person to name a bodybuilder, 9 times out of 10 it will be arnold schwarzenegger. think what u want but bottom line is arnold will be the greatest, he could have easily one mr olympia 10 years+ in a row, but bodybuilding is a tough sport and takes its toll over time

Two different eras. Ronnie is the product of better technology and more of and understanding of diet, supplements, and better steroid technology. Haney started competing in 79, Ronnie in 90. You have to put things in perspective. Ronnie had more mass but Lee had great symmetry.

Coleman doesn't even compare with Haney. Haney has proportions that Coleman only dreams of plus Coleman has a fat gut. Haney is the greatest bodybuilder in the history of the sport and that is why he has more Mr. Olympia wins than anyone. period.

Ronnie had a lot more mass, BUT I like Lee Haney's physique more. Ronnie had so much muscle that the aesthetic just did not look as good. Likewise I think Ronnie looked better in 1998 than any later Olympia's. Sure he got bigger, and yes most of the time bigger is better, but when you cross a certain point it no longer looks as good. Like the frame has too much muscle on it. The distended waist also looks fugly. So I like Lee Haney's physique a lot more than Coleman, Cutler, or even Yates.

How can Ronnie and Haney be compared? They are from a totally different era.. When Lee Haney was competing in the Olympia, Most of the compeitors weighed Between 200-225.. So of course haney was the king of mass at 240.. I think Ronnie was between 275-300 for most of his Mr Olympia victories.. Since both men are about the same height that would mean Ronnie had about 50 pounds of muscle over Haney, With even greater seperation and fuller rounder muscles

I hate that bodybuilding has become (at least from what I see) a sport in which people compete to have the largest muscles. Sure, size is important, but I liked the bodybuilding days of the 60's and 70's where leaner, more human-like, bodies were the case.
@unfortunatebeam: I think the reason why people say that is because before Yates there wasn't a lot of steroid use to promote size. It was used to get through peaks faster then it was set aside. After Yates, it was all steroid use to promote size. But I do agree with you that Lee is comparable. I think Lee would have done what was required for him to beat Ronnie, just like Arnold would have.

Likewise I think Ronnie looked better in 1998 than any later Olympia's. Sure he got bigger, and yes most of the time bigger is better, but when you cross a certain point it no longer looks as good. Like the frame has too much muscle on it. The distended waist also looks fugly. So I like Lee Haney's physique a lot more than Coleman, Cutler, or even Yates.

How can Ronnie and Haney be compared? They are from a totally different era.. When Lee Haney was competing in the Olympia, Most of the compeitors weighed Between 200-225.. So of course haney was the king of mass at 240.. I think Ronnie was between 275-300 for most of his Mr Olympia victories.. Since both men are about the same height that would mean Ronnie had about 50 pounds of muscle over Haney, With even greater seperation and fuller rounder muscles

I hate that bodybuilding has become (at least from what I see) a sport in which people compete to have the largest muscles. Sure, size is important, but I liked the bodybuilding days of the 60's and 70's where leaner, more human-like, bodies were the case.

After Yates, it was all steroid use to promote size. But I do agree with you that Lee is comparable. I think Lee would have done what was required for him to beat Ronnie, just like Arnold would have.

The two most overrated bodybuilders of all time! Haney had two good body parts: Lats & chest.
Ronnie looked great until about 2001 when his gut just kept getting more & more disgusting. His 2003 freak show physique is the wost to have ever been "awarded" the Sandow.
