I worked a union job at a grocery store for 2 summers. I didn't enjoy the job, and I didn't feel more respected because I had a union job. The general manager was an asshole, but so was the union rep. One of my fellow coworkers left the union job to work at Walmart, because he was treated better and paid better for working harder. Are there bad Walmarts? Yes there are, but to lump them all together is most moronic thing to do.

Buy at Wal-Mart and you don't always get a lower price as they claim. They put all the mom and pop stores out of business, where you actually got good service where they knew you by name and cared about your needs. Besides that they buy so much junk that is low quality that you buy it over and over instead of it lasting. Sure some things are the same but not most of it.

I told her of course they were friendly and helpful... they are our neighbors... $10.00 and hour in Connecticut is way below the poverty line. In order to live here comfortably you have to make at least $16.00 an hour.

I made on an average $520.00 every 2 weeks, my rent is $750.00 dollars alone, never mind utilities, car insurance, etc. And that is if they gave me a full 40hr work week and don't cut me to 32hrs.

People who make $10.00 an hour here working at Wal-mart usually end up going on state assistance.

I used to work for Wal Mart and I also used to work for Lowes too, those are two places that I would love to see the union in, in all reality any big box retailer and home improvement store needs to be unionized.
