Of course it was a penalty by geoghegan, i remember crying out in frustration when he flopped down on Andrew, but being plesently amazed when the ref gave ireland the decision!

But frankly Ireland needed all the help the could get at the time and it helped us win so ill live with the mistake!!

And geoghegan deserved every decision he got due to the magnificent effort he put into every performance...LEGEND

You don't have to allow the player get to his feet. Nothing in the rules about that.

Well clearly I do! There is nothing in the rules that says a player must not stop a player getting to his feet. Player goes to ground to contest the ball, Geoghegan gets back on his feet, plays the ball. Textbook stuff and would have survived todays even stricter interpretations.

All Geoghegan was doing is to try to get the ball off Andrew who was in possession of it, in which case you dont have to leave him up.

if the ball is loose...like then, when the were chasing it after it had been kicked, if a player drops on the ball like Andrew did you have to allow the player back to their feet before making any contact with them!
