i own the game... and i know how the engine reacts on mass physical objects moving. the engine stops the objects while they are moving to prevent a slowdown of FPS. so you can move normal and only the objects are lagging. why should he play on a server without other players? ^^ this doesn't make sense :D maybe he is silly and does that but i don't think so.

50 nukes are easy to render as they are 50 separate objects. Just the same as 50 garbage containers falling on your head. Using explosive barrels to achieve the same amount of firepower will be quite harmful to your computer

The video is cut, in 0:45-0:47 you can see the camera jump from 1 place to another, where the poles are not freezed.

i have most of the things like this. i use this antidebug command toom abd u use the -width 1280 -height 1024 -dxlevel 70, cause i have bad experience with the 90 mode. i will try to cantact you for futher talk (if you will want) i didn't know, that somebody too runs Gmod under wine seriously :)

a) Number of props I spawned

b) Youtube fps

c) Running in wine

Are you really running this unrder linux with wine? I am running garrys under wine too, on relative fast computer (2 core 3,2GHz CPU, GeForce8600) and my game with that many props runs much, much slower! Can't you tell me your pc configuration/ wine configuration?

Sure. I'm using Slackware 12.0 32-bit on a single core Opteron 144 overclocked to 2.26GHz, 4GB PC3200 ram (but using less than 2GB due to 32 bit) and a geforce 6800GT

Direct3D:

a) Use an up to date nVidia card with the binary drivers for now

b) start steam using the command "WINEDEBUG=-all wine Steam.exe" from the steam folder - this hides the really slow error messages

c)in your game launch config, set the following launch options:

-width 1280 -height 1024 -novid -dxlevel 90

d) enjoy.

PC lag is called low frame rate, and yes, it's a low frame rate, not online related, not CPU, graphics card problem.

No, Its 2 completely different things. Go play a server with like 700ping and you'll get what i mean. And that is definatrly not low frame rate. Possibly really bad frame drop but highly unlikely.

Very easy to answer, when he starts there's no physics moving the objects, but when earthquake starts, the CPU have to calculate every single physic object of the building (all the building). On this map there's hundreds of physic objects, so CPU have to calculate the movement of the objects on every single frame. That's why he has low fps, because he has too much hys objects.

I'm a Source mapper and I study Informatics Science, so don't try to explain me this is internet lag.

It did lag a little but nowhere near as much as in that video... source recorder seems to have dropped some frames when I looked that the massive building because as you say the CPU was busy with the building - it's not cut in any way.

This is CPU calculation phisics of all the building, it calculates each piece of the building, that's why it's low frame rated.

The game uses an physics engine and when there are too many objects rendred in the world, the computer starts having a hard time calculating all the physically collisions and will slow it down to help ease the stress of the processing power needed.
