Make a video with an MINI e-revo using life-po!!! And see if it is possible to make backflips and make a speed run (measure the speed please) thank you very much
o.k I've resurched these packs for awile and was wondering if the 9.9 1050 Green series LiFe pack would do 60+ as the 3s li-pos do in a stock E-Revo xvl but with 16/50 grearing
The VXL motor is lower KV so this pack in there will be slower runtimes should be close. Remember lower voltage slower to gain speed back with lower voltage higher KV motor and gear up. A good motor choice would be the 6900, 7700, or the 9000 by Castle.
@darkwingppk : no no no sorry i run my slash 4wd with 2200kv hobbywing motor and 19T and 3 or 4 A123
if you run 3A123 (2100mHa) with vxl and 19T you overheat all batteries lipo-life..., in my opinion run whatever you want but get sure batteries dont get hot, batteries have long lasting limit (sorry my english) f .ex. 3s-2p A123 vxl motor and 15-16-17-18-19T are a blast, and dont get hot
2 in parallel , packs less temperature reach each one, etc etc etc
In the Slash with the 5700 system geared the way I have it I can run a solid 18 minutes non stop. Pull the pack off and throw it right on the charger at 10 amps and in 30 minutes it's ready to go again. If your just bashing around 25 minutes is very easy.
Please be patient. The video is still on my camera. I got back from my trip late Thursday night and was busy catching up with Work on Friday. Saturday and Sunday were spent cleaning my house out for a Moving sale so I can get ready to sell my house for my move to Spokane,WA.
You'll have to play with the gearing. Generally when you drop in voltage you need to step up a tooth or two with the pinion gear. Try that and watch motor temps and you adjust the gearing. I can't give you an exact gear because my original brushed motor die after it's 3rd Li-Po pack.
Well the video is of my Slash with the CC 5700 system on a 6.6 volt 4500 Life pack. You can see that it has plenty of power geared 18/86 I would say right now it's faster than a 6 cell NimH pack and a bit better than a 7 cell. We have several team drivers racing Slashes with the same pack and they are beating guys with 7 cell Nimh packs and 2S li-Po's on a regular basis. If you wanted to get close to a 3S li-Po you'd have to go with a 9.9 volt Life pack and do soem gearing adjustments.
well that will depend on the car/truck, the motor and gearing. Just remeber it's a bit less voltage at 6.6 volts so you will in most cases have to step up a pinion or two to maintain your current speed. And run time will also vary but in most cases you can expect 20 to 25 minutes in a bashing scenario This Slash with the 5700 Mamba system will do 15 minutes non-stop, pretty much like in a race.
Don't know exact speed I haven't clocked it. I would guess with the gearing that it's pretty close to a 2S 7.4 Li-Po right now. It's plenty fast for ripping around with considering it's a Slash.

In other words, what do you think run times would be in a Rustler VXL and would this be faster or slower than a 7.4V LiPo?

@darkwingppk :my option buy 3A123 2100 mHa and use 19T you can be sure is fast enought and safety with the vxl motor
certainly i run the rustler with 3s and 4s A123 you can see my vid if you search:
traxxas rustler 4s A123
the more matteries the more energy and the more runtimes (if demand equal speed)

Hey Jason, would you think this gets about the same run time and speed as a Rustler VXL??

how long does the battery last?

If you ran this in a stock slash what gear should I switch to? or should I just leave the stock one in?
