  • This was great video i am now a huge fan

  • i think if he's going to take the time to make a video to benefit you, you shouldn't have a reason to hate him with a passion or talk rude to him when his intention were good and to help you out.

  • Will done tutorial, I could follow it clearly and easily. Thanks for the info. You were right to the point and made it interesting to watch. Cheers!

  • IT WORKED! :)

I'm going to do a better version of this though so everyone can do it properly.

  • Thanx alot man! exactly what I was looking for

  • So your saying someone else's voice is horrible, but you need help auto-tuning? hmm ... Since when do MEN find time to whine about another man's voice. Hand in your cards "guys". Thanks for the video dude. helped alot ..

  • What's with all the haters?.. the guy's trying to help people..assholes!

    Thanks for the tut,bro.

  • For those of you that cant find the port number.... on mine I found it by clicking the gear at the top left of autotune, the settings page, the MIDI section, match midi in to your MIDI out port number.

  • I dont have this port thing where i can set the port with my mouce in Autotune and Harmonizer engine!

  • For some reason even though my Auto Tune is set to pick the right port of Midi out, it is simply not working. Auto mode is working tho

  • @corbinjurgens

For me it doesn't work either this MIDI thing

  • Thanks for tutorial, made it easy for me to set up.

  • Tahnks for tutorial, made it easy for me to set up.

  • There's no PORT shit in the autotune plugin

  • Thank you 4 nice video

  • u sound gay

  • DAAAAANNG! You got a juicy mouf. You can't be suckin' a milkdud and making a video.

  • For some reason when I record the notes that I want the vocal to play, it also retains the notes that it had previously within the VST, so it slides between the old notes and the new notes. Is there a way to get it so that if I have MIDI notes written in, it won't still play it's original notes?

  • thank you so much for this Tutorial,i was looking for that !!

  • Haha thanks bro! I was going to sing a song and post it unedited, apparently I was singing in a different key and never realized it... I was in tune, none of the notes I sang rubbed *surprisingly*, but when I recorded it, I was transposed about 2 steps down. XD

  • People leave this guy alone, this tutorial is more helpful then most. So seriously zip it people..

  • Do you have to have a MIDI keyboard or does FL's built in virtual keyboard work as well?

  • if anyone cant see the midi port on their vst window, all you have to do is click the little cog beside where you would get presets options. it should bring up the vst properties along with the midi ports.

thought i would share advice as i was a bit lost too

  • How do make the port number appear on the right top corner of the autotune window?

  • how exactly do you hook it up to your audio, are you usiing the edison recorder or what?

  • i dont see the port selector on my version of auto tune, pleez help!!!

  • yeauh all these dudes talkin bout i hate yer voice and shit ... yu kno what fuck those peoples if yu dont wanna learn from him teach yer godamn selves ya assholes at least show him yu appreciate that he took time to teach us damn

  • JEEEEEZ you talk GROSS dude..

  • @dannygelens Hope you get well soon.

  • is there a way to simulate the midi from another channel?

  • Woo you got some haters LOL. well i was wanting to know how to do this for the hell of it and you taught me how! Kids need to grow up and try saying shit in person. Thanks for the tut man! :)

  • Great tutorial man!

  • nvm. thanks man. very helpful video?

  • umm i dont even have the port option on autotune...?

    and ideas?

  • @kwone2007 in the upper left hand corner of your autotune you will see a down arrow and a half cog looking thing. click the cog ;)

  • Im new to DAW's. I have autotune 5, protools 8. How do you route the midi to autotune in protools 8?

  • @THEREALtrappajohn in auto tune in the topleft of it double click and it should give you port options

  • In FL-Studio 9.6, Harmony Engine have no panning faders, why? In Ableton Live 8.2.1 is no problem, can see the panning faders in the plug in, full stereo. In the manual (Antares) they say in Mono-Tracks cant see the panning faders, but i think in Fl the channels are allways stereo?! I tried with Sylenth1 a Stereo Synth and Insert1 Harmony Engine for try only, but no faders....

  • Why can't I put the harmony program on a channel as you do at "3:12"

For some reason i don't have that option....

Can you help me plz.. Thanks!

  • @OKLAHOMALOVE2 in the newer FL versions you can click left top in the Antares plugin window (Wrapping Settings) to change the channels. (right side from arow)

  • @OKLAHOMALOVE2 Click the gear on the top left of the harmony engine and youll see input and output channels

  • hey simplyhiphop, this is a perfect tutorial! I've been trying to figure this auto tune and harmony thing for a LONG time. Do you have any idea how to do the same in Adobe Audition?

  • can you not eat hot dogs when you do tutorials. Kind of really fucking disgusting dude. Just saying. Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • @DADEISM You made me giggle. Just saying. Thanks

  • @simplyhiphop He is right though... Get a grip and put the food down for 9 minutes :S wtf...

  • @simplyhiphop so does it automatically know to follow autotune, when you route the harmony to a diff port?

  • I love you XD Thanks so much!

  • this helped a lot! I always come back to this video thanks!!

  • god i swear to fukin god i hate the way this dude talks with a fukin passion!! always have... why the fuck does it sound like he has a fuckin starburst in his mouth!!! goddamn hes more annoying than those indians who work for the telemarketers

  • @ndalazdayz I'm so happy to bring out your passion, my man!! Of course, if the passion ever gets too much for you, feel free to NOT watch this video and make your own. I'll link it here for you.

  • @simplyhiphop

bro my ports aren't in my effects help please

  • @ndalazdayz I know it's disgusting lol.

  • how do i get the audio to come through the speakers it wont let me

  • LOOOOOOOOOOL @ the beat

  • I can't get the harmony efx plugin to work in fl studio. It works in mixcraft, but in fl studio it doesn't do anything no matter what I do. I don't have this issue with any other 3rd party plugins I use.

  • get that lolipop out of you mouth ... u sound like a fag

  • when i do it, it plays the sample at the key im doing it in, what i doing wrong

  • Thanks a lot. You just taught me how to link it to a Midi out, that is what I was looking for.

  • Do You know how to do this for cubase sx4. Thats what im using...

  • you need a better Audio Interface Dawg!!

    Audio is Lagging

  • I love you man, I've been desperately trying to get autotune to accept midi for months with no avail, i should have figured it was this simple!!

  • Thank you very much for this tutorial!

  • hey, thanks for the video. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to use a preexisting midi (one that I import) as the target midi. Here's what I do. I create a Midi Out channel. I go to piano roll. I import the midi. I set the ports up to match, but the auto tune just doesn't recognize it. What am I missing? It works fine when I play the keyboard, but it doesn't recognize the notes in the piano roll.

  • First check if you can record some notes into the Midi Out channel and if that works. If it does, it might be some channel info in the Midi you're importing. Otherwise I have no idea.

  • Thanks for the reply.

I just started with a fresh project and I got it working. In the process of trial and error I must have screwed something up in my old project. I possibly had multiple midi outs going to the same port.

    cheers

  • Yo , When I SIng on Auto Tune... I Here My Natural Voice mixed With My Voice With Effects . :S. How Do I Get Rid of Natural Voice? HELPPPPPPPPP

  • you should just get camtasia studio lol

  • Please can you do one for FL Studio 9 please?

  • the only thing thats different is that to get to the port selection for autotune you click on the cog picture in the top left of the autotune window, then theres a green box on the left where you choose the input port

everything else is the same as on here with the midi out and such

  • Niiiice thx a billion

    ljs

  • no prob'm, if you have any other fl studio questions you can PM me, i've been diving into it for a while now so if i didn't know the answer itd give me something new to learn hehe

  • thanks for this tutorial!! And freakstupid11 I was totally lost with FLStudio 9 on my laptop and this helped me a bunch so thanks!!

  • ya they must have moved the input port selector to take up less space or something

message me for more help with fl9 if you need :D

  • does anyone know how to do this in cool edit pro? it says "conrol midi" or some shit like that, then it can recognize my keyboard, but it doesnt seem to work

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  • is there a way to activate the panning in fl studio so you can chose the stereo layout of all the harmony parts?

  • You can choose the stereo panning of each harmony part in the plugin itself, but also for all in the mixer track. Make sure you route the output to a seperate mixer track and than pan that mixer track.

  • the panning seems to be disabled for each harmony part (even in this vid) is it a problem with fl studio maybe?

  • nice video, I got it almost all.

is the Harmony Engine another Antares VST? where do i get it?

  • You can buy it from Antares Tech, but it's pretty old so I don't know if they still sell it. If you're asking about a free version, then Google for Warez, Antares, Harmony.

  • will it work the same for audition?

  • @SuperWario094 ---OMG im having the same problem: i think u cant "really" run a vst "not instrument" plugins in aa3...i hope im wrong,if not i got to get a new sequencer to do this???aa3 sux 8(

  • aa3 is good but just not for that i guess

  • @SuperWario094 -Yup u right bro, is good but not 4 what we want to do,if we want control the vst via midi...we cnt 8( anyway i just get the fl studio8 now LOL

  • Nice Video

  • wats the software you use 2 record screen?

  • I did everything you said, but it still doesn't work! Help!

The only difference is that I am using a pre-recorded wav file, instead of a live mic input.

I am able to record notes to the MIDI out channel, but I can't get Auto-Tune to read the notes! Both are set to Port 11.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

  • Same problem here

  • did you click target notes via midi?

and made sure the wav file is going through the right mixer channel

  • Read the reaction of Freakystupid above

  • Thank you soooooo much!!!! I really needed help with this and now I know. Again...thanks!

  • Great video. Thanks for the tips!

  • THANKS!!!

  • when I'm using Harmony I am getting ALOT of latency in the sample.. i have to render what i've made before i can use it.. is anyone else having this problem?

  • excellent. was wondering how to do this for ages. thnx alot!

  • is autotune in a ch. or is it in the master?

  • Autotune is in a channel with just the recorded vocals. You only want it to affect the vocal. On the master it would try to tune everything.

  • and are you in song or patern?

  • In song mode

  • what ch. did you put the recorded vocals on?

how did you line them up so they play the right notes?

  • It doesn't really matter where you put the recorded vocals, as long as you put Autotune and Harmony Engine in the same mixer channel. For instance, I record to mixer channel 6 and put Autotune in the effects of channel 6. The rest is just lining up the Midi Out and Autotune with the same port, but that is all in the video. Good luck. :-)

  • very good tutorial thanks :)

  • Indeed, very interesting Tutorial. I work with Nuendo myself and was wondering if Autotune and Harmony Engine could work together. There is also Waves Morphoder that works a bit like this and has other vocoder type of effects. Anyway, 5 stars video. Great ! THANKS

  • Great tutorial

  • Comment removed

  • I made the tutorial. I don't know ableton. With midi Autotune is kind of like a vocoder, but with very clear vocals.
