  • Just one question, can I have it? :)

  • @ireaallylikethisname Certainly. I will absolutely sell it if you are interested. Shoot me an offer via PM. I am going to take it in for a spring tune up this week so it will be fresh for you to ride!

  • @Frdmstang I was only playing buddy! Just bought a allez 16 2011 model for £400 brand new! :D

    But your bike is sweeet

  • Nice build man. Perfect balance of parts(& color).

  • @UGAgeorgiaDAWG Thanks. It has been a really good bike with 2 trouble free RAGBRAI's under it's belt now.

  • this is the most cheapest i've seen in specialized yet awesome and sexy in only cost

$700-$800 !! im saving money for this

  • YOU KNOW, THAT BELL IS THE EXACT SAME COMPANY AS GIRO? IS LIKE TOYOTA AND LEXUS, SO BELL PRODUCTS ARE EXCELLENT AND CHEAPER, THATS WHY THEY DO IT

  • @Bryanmatos It does the job just fine. It just looks kinda goofy. My wife has a Cateye and its a sharp little computer and its easier to use.

  • Daymn nice groupset.

  • How do you keep your cassette and chain so shiny and clean? Is it just frequently cleaning or do you use a particular type of lube?

  • @blp0 The cassette and chain were brand new when this video was taken. I had just gotten home from the bike shop after having the Force group installed.

  • Damn Britain's roads. THEY ARE SO BAD. They let the bike down big time. These bikes fly on good decent tarmac.

  • @Kelly14UK I can't complain about the roads here. They aren't great but not bad enough that I won't ride them. I agree that good tarmac does make a big difference. I did RAGBRAI last year just a few days after this video was taken and I got to see great roads and some horrible. The final day was a breathtaking ride with some great views during some fast rolling sections if you had the nerve to ride at that pace. I was hanging with some fast riders and it was the most fun I've had on a bike.

  • Beasty beast beast

  • How much of an improvement is the seat post over stock as far as comfort is concerned?

  • @Elementecho I think it smoothed out the ride a little when the pavement has a texture. It doesn't make bumps any less harsh as far as I can tell.

  • It is really beautiful. I have one too and I can't get enough

  • nice bike man good gruppo i have sram rival wish i got sram force

  • @TheAlan94 ...and I wish I would have bought Red. Honestly the Force stuff is really nice. No matter what you have you always want better! The nice thing about SRAM is that all of the series are engineered for the same performance. You just get lighter materials in the more expensive groups.

  • @Frdmstang yeah i know I like Force because of the decals and graphics and most of the stuff are carbon and Sram red is just incredible but more expensive. Sram rivals works good i'll upgrade once i get my specialized Tarmac Sl3 Frame then i'll put the sram red shifters and brakes but keep the s-works crank on

  • By the way, the Sram set probably cost twice as much as the stock bike, did it?

  • @grenadeserenade Not twice as much. I paid quite a bit less than retail. I think it was money well spent. The Sram stuff is a huge improvement over the stock components that came on the bike. If I had to do it all over I would have bought the Allez instead of the Allez Sport since I removed everything that was an upgrade over the base model. I didn't know I was going to get the itch to upgrade so soon...

  • @Frdmstang I know exactly what you mean. I just got my Allez Sport 3 weeks ago (Paid $600 brand new), and I already want to upgrade a lot on it, like put on a Sram group, change the saddle and wheels, etc. The Sora componentry that comes with it gets the job done, but that's about it. Sram is just so dang nice.

  • I just got this same bike. I love everything about it but the Rival saddle. How do you like the Avatar?

  • Allez Allez Allez!

  • Dude, seriously. I rode a Cervelo S1 a few days ago with some SRAM force stuff upon it and immediately decided that I was gonna overhaul my '10 Specialized Allez with this very same setup. I plan on using Mavic Ksyrium Equipe with Continental GP Attack/Force Tyres, but otherwise this is what its gonna look like. Just terrific! How much did you pay for your gruppo?

  • how many weight pleace?

    Very nice bike!

  • @arguello1 As it is in the video it was 18.4 pounds.

  • @Frdmstang Do you know how much this frame weighs

  • @arguello1 Sorry, I don't. I will let you know when I move my components over to a Tarmac frame this winter.

  • @Frdmstang I have the triple 2010 (red) and I'll put the fulcrum racing zero weels with a ultegra 2010 group.

  • @arguello1 The Ksyrium Elite's are a great value. It doesn't really make sense to me to put $1500 wheels on a bike that originally only cost about $850. The Elites are only $650 and 100 grams more. Light tires and tubes can close the weight gap for much less money. It really only makes sense if you are upgrading all of the components to move them to a better frame at a later date. Either way I think you will enjoy the bike once upgraded. Have fun!

  • Nice ride. 2 months ago I had the Sram Force line put on my 08 Allez along with some Ksyrium Elites and Michelin Krylion Carbon tires. Great tire if you ever have doubts with your Turbo Pro. I also added the Specialized Toupe saddle.

I was really curious what my bike weighed with all the upgrades, thanks for including yours.

  • @atxpedi That's funny about the Toupe because I also switched to that saddle a couple weeks ago. I demoed it and a Fizik and couldn't get comfortable on the Fizik. The Toupe is shaped almost the same as the Avatar with less padding so it was an easy transition.

  • Hi! Nice! I am currently thinking about building one of these up. What BB did you have to get for your groupset? Was it easy to install?

  • @BenBartle My local shop ordered and installed everything for me. I believe the BB is English threaded though. It is the SRAM BB that comes with the Force crankset.

  • Nice bike. How do you like those Turbo Pro tires? I was thinking about getting those...

  • @pgong I really like them. They are over 100g lighter each compared to the stock Mondo's. That's 1/2 pound off the bike in just tires. They might wear a little faster though. If that is a concern look at the Turbo Comp, which is just a little heavier, cheaper, and with a slightly harder rubber compound that should last longer. I have about 700 miles on them since this video was shot last month.
