  • a few weeks ago i finished school and i was depressed and wasnt sleeping and eating properly so i was weighing myself knowing something was wrong and i was losing weight everyday and i knew it was unhealthy so i decided to go back to school to help out and it actually helped alot and now i've put the weight back on with muscle and i'm doing more exercise and i'm just more happy now :) yay

  • thank you. this video couldn't have come at a better time. I've been doing Body for Life for Women and I lost 4 pounds the first week but then I started gaining. I do see weird pockets where the fat is going away and muscle is forming. I don't feel so bad that the scale has suddenly shot up a couple of pounds and I am doing everything the same

    No one has the secret to fat loss. Dr. Jeffrey Friedman and other scientists have been woirking overtime for many years. Obesity is FAR from solved. There are far less knowns than unknowns.

    GENUINE science always admits uncertainty and vast unknowns.

    Science does not currently understand the chemical behavior of fat cell receptors.

  • alot of the reason why people focus on losing weight is because you can see what's happening aka the scale is less than before means I'm doing a good job. it's harder to measure the loss of body fat so if we made it easier to measure body fat maybe it will be easier for the common person to say I want to lose body fat rather than I want to lose weight.

  • i've stopped weighing myself - i started running/powerwalking about 3 months ago, and i was REALLy obsessed with getting the numbers on the scale to go down.. But then people started telling me that i had become more fit , wich i didn't understand since my weight has gone UP. but than i realized that i gained muscles and that i acutally had become more fit.. And since i was normal weight from the beginning, i didnt have that much fat to loose. So people, DON'T GET OBSESSED WITH THE NUMBERS!

  • @msvioletsun24 puh, that's a tough question. Generally I think you cannot say: I'm working on burning fat now. It's basically that you just burn calories. And in the end of the day when you have burnt more calories than you took in your body has to get the rest of these needed calories from it's storage facility i.e. your fat.

  • Every time you eat you take in calories or sugar molecules for that matter. Those can either be transformed to energy right away or if you don't need as much energy it gets stored in your fat cells for bad times. That's also the reason why you need to take in a minimum amount of food per day because otherwise your body remembers and will store more fat the next time you eat more. Does that make sense?

  • Is it healthy to exercise before bed? I find that it helps me to sleep when I do.

  • what's a good way to know I am eating enough so as to lose fat... is it aerobic exercise that help lose fat or does it help not to eat fat to lose fat?

  • @msvioletsun24 Hey, it's basically about how many calories you take in and how many you burn. As fat has more calories in a g than carbohydrates and protein does it helps to cut down on eating fat but you also need fat (especially essential fats from nuts or plant based oils) to stay healthy. Doing aerobic or sport helps you to up the amount of calories you burn in a day. Hope I could help you! Stef

  • @Stef6788 oh i see! so... when you burn more calories through exercise does that mean you are burning fat? how do you know when you start losing fat through running/swimming?

  • you can't lose fat cells, you can only deplete the stores in the fat cells.
