  • i got ur tips on the video but im doing it this to a 1985 chevy pick up its a plastic around it but i cant get to the bottom how do i get to that >?

  • @lilmontanagreaser We do have this 86 Blazer turn signal switch video that might help you out. It may be the same on your vehicle youtube.com/user/1aauto?feature=mhee#p/search/31/RhtHX9lOgy8

  • how do I get to the wiper control in a 91 s10? I had intermittent wipers and the column got switched to one without, and I want to get it back.

  • @Vacmasterthegreat We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. If you have a service or a Haynes manual one of them may show you how to repair this on your vehicle. Hope this helps you out.

  • P.S. My truck is a 98 GMC Sonoma, w/o Cruise control. This device in the video is more common than the one w/o cruise control apparently. Does anyone know if you can use the one with Cruise on a truck w/o cruise?

  • @ke4cpc If your truck came W/O cruise on the multi-function switch, then that's the one that we would recommend using.

  • I tried doing this from out of the Haynes manual, but they make no mention of the harness plug assy., or the red 7mm bolt that holds them together. "Just unplug it," they say. The bolt was obscured by a piece of elec. tape in my truck, so it wasn't obvious until I watched this video. Many thanks for the video! I agree that the steering wheel disassembly could be elaborated on.

  • just paid over 400.00 to have wiper switch repaired on 95 tahoe left wiper fell off(stripped?) before the wiper fell off they both would stop in the middle of windshield run weird stop then start 20 seconds later they repaired the wiper switch and put the right wiper back on still doing the same thing i feel like I just paid 441.00 for them to put the left wiper back on as everything is the same And thier telling me that the motor needs to be replaced for another 400-- HELP

  • wow, nice. Thank you. worked great 4 me saved me 200 bucks!

  • for anyone with the same issue (getting into the signal switch housing) it is pressed onto the lock cylinder housing. Insert a screwdriver between the two and carefully pry, working around the outside from different sides. Mine was a little rusted (as is much of the car, but it gets me to work and home) It was stuck on there good. I feel kinda silly, I was asking all over the place. Very glad I found the 1aauto site, wish I'd found it earlier, I paid about $100 more at "the zone."

  • Geez, I am so lost! Door panel sticker says '87 (beretta). wheel is off and torx screws holding the switch in place are removed. switch will not fit through the hole in the signal switch housing (which is a solid metal canister type. How can I get to the switch to change it out? I cannot find more screws or bolts on or around the signal switch housing.

  • Great video, thanks! Couple of tips: Getting the airbag off requires a little more description. The slots in the back have a deep side and a shallow one. Stick the screwdriver in the deep one, all the way in. There is a wire clip in there that you need to push up or down. Getting the cruise control control unplugged was hard. Find the button on the side of the plug, and you have to push it in farther than you can with your finger. Took me forever, I finally just pried it out, breaking it.

  • HELLO nice video, i have a cuestion, how I know Why not work the cruise control in the same model please answer me.

  • i have a 1999 chevy blazer 2 door 4wd are these the same basic steps for it i have the same problem as DrD127 the blinker noise stays on when blinkers are NOT on

  • @anderberger believe it is the same procedure although i have an 00 blazer that I will try to do this video on soon.

  • @1aauto thanks ya know its weird i put the fuse back in yesterday (i had been driving without the blinker fuse) just to see what happened and i have not had the problem the blinkers work fine except when i hit the brakes now their is a noise that comes out the same thing the blinker noise comes out of but it does not always do it anyways hopefully it keeps working and i wont need a new switch

  • @anderberger Good luck!

  • @1aauto Does the signal switch(combination switch) have anything to do with the brake lights?

  • @Terceira73 in most GM cases yes. the Hazzard switch used the same wires.

  • Awesome video.

  • My trusted mechanic wanted $750 to fix the turn signal that would not click off after a turn. I said no and then a month later the wipers quit. My son suggested the internet and after a little looking I bought the part, watched the video and installed. Took about 2 hours, 1 1/2 to disassemble and a half to install. Soooo happy!!! THANKS

  • Great video - helps so much to see the repair going on instead of just reading the repair manual.

I KIND OF GUESSED ON WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND I ORDERED THIS PART

FROM 1AAUTO.COM AND MY HEADLIGHTS STARTED WORKING AGAIN!!!!!!!
