It IS replacing the m16 for the army. The America's military budget makes up nearly half of the world's military spending. Of course they can replace it. The army has the largest budget. Few soldiers in the army are using the M16 in the field currently and for the last several years. Every picture you look up on the war on terrorism-the soldier will predominantly have The usmc keeps hand-me-downs and keep the m16.

Nonetheless-it's still an AR like the m16- only a carbine.

i'm only a future soldier, and every one of my infantry bros used an M4 when deployed and only used the M16 in training exercises, and qualifications.

Are you with the army or USMC? Seriously though, look up nearly any video or picture of soldiers during the war on terror within the last 5 years-and if they are a combatant, they are a lot more often than not are using an M4 over an M16
