I've been playing Sonic since game 1 and after Heroes is when they made their stories more for kids (except for 2006, but that was just.... bad). Pretty generic stories, too. I think it will do Sonic a lot of good if they make another Adventure game, not just because the gameplay was the best or whatever, but because they had the best stories.

Personally I dont think they are going to make anything happen with Shadouge or Knuxouge, but if anything happened with either I think it would be Shadouge. Knuckles has way too many girls that could be possible girlfriends.

There is Julie-sue, Tikal (not really love though), Sonia, and the most recent... Shade! Plus Shadow and Rouge are closer to each other then Knux and Rouge.

Fly into freedom is an awesome theme for Rouge. The tone of the song has a nice r&b feel, but jazzy as well. In my honest opinion I think she has feelings for both Shadow and Knuckles, but from what I know of Rouge, she and Knuckles may never be because Knuckles gets with an echidna by the name of Julie-su. Their daughter is named Lara-su and I think she becomes the new guardian of the Master emerald under the watchful eye of her father.

I am aware the comics did their own takes on some of the Sonic games but in a way those comics are just really published fanfiction. Their events never tie into later adaptions, especially not in the most important canon of all, SEGA-canon, where it all started; so I wouldn't be so quick to say that Knouge will never have a chance.
