  • I SO AGREE WITH WHAT STEPASAUR SAID-IF ALADDIN WOULD HAVE DONE THIS SAME ROUTINE IN THE WORLD FINALS-OH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NO CONTEST!!!!!! THOUGH HIS WORLD FINALS ROUTINE WAS GOOD,THIS REALLY WAS THE STAND OUT ROUTINE!!

  • using the switch for trans forming cus the curve option for the fader was not popular yet. Q-Bert paid alot of attention watching Aladdin and Miz.

  • @daorigino yo son! the curve fader wasnt even created yet IN 89! two distinct styles kid! most west coast dj's used the NUMARK 1150 mixer! the cross fader on those faded away so transforming wouldnt sound good.using the lines switch(ticker) sounded better! east coast cast used the gemini MX1100 OR MX2200! you didnt see that (cheater)curve fader shit until 94/95 with the VESTAX 05 MODEL!

  • Aladdin the legend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • miz won the new music seminar battle and aladdin won the dmc the same year...i was there for both !!!

  • @BUTTABOOTY aladdin shouldve won the NMS! the cat actually slowed his record down and did the 1,2 beat juggle! miz always had his records skippin!

  • DJ Miz won this battle by a hair it was the greatest display of DJ talent I had ever seen!

  • @skillrob1000 Wrong... Aladdin won this battle. He was the '89 USA DMC champ and went on to place 2nd in the world finals.

  • @Techspert 89' I attended a DJ/MC Battle for World Supremacy in NYC hosted by MC Search. Craig G did a freestyle dissing Search said he looked like a baseball coach... I used to smoke a LOT!! but Im certain DJ Miz won that battle against Aladdin, and MC Freshco won the MC battle that same day, later they made a few records together perhaps an album, Miz and Freshco. so If this isn't that same battle... Aladdin ran this routine at least a couple times.

  • @skillrob1000 miz placed second in the DMC! Aladdin shouldve won both the DMC AND NMS! EAST COAST BIAS as usual!

  • hi peoples! please tell me what's the track played at 3:20. Thanks in advance

  • @sirg3orge Afrika Bambataa's "Planet Rock"

  • sic he doing what q bert is doing now fucken lame brains stright from compton fucken sicc

  • @doutubelikeme as always some cyber idiot has to say some QBERT SHIT! dude! iam sorry but WEST COAST DJ'S prior to qbert were all BLACK AND LATINO! JULIO G,GEMINI,ARTIE B,TRAYSKI,M WALK,BATTLECAT,TONY G,ALADDIN,JOE COOLY,DJ POOH,DRE. DRE! all that fast scratchin shit came from LA! the only NEW YORK i heard that could get like them was EASY G ROCKWELL! I think you watched that "pro qbert" documentary SCRATCH to fuckin much!

  • lol rockin' the switch for the transform, thanks for posting this! good memories.

  • aw if he'd only done this routine in the world final, maybe he would've actually won which i have to say (being from the UK) he did

  • cats still try to get that bad meaning bad but bad meaning good down to this day!

Best part was the needle dropping at 1:43

just pure turntablist, great selection and I defy any dj today to do what he did using that crap mixer. It took true skilz

  • why YOU talkin bad on THE NUMARK 1150A bro. all west coast cats rocked those joints back then! including QBERT AND MIXMASTER MIKE? it's funny cuz everybody tried to emulate ALADDIN! ROC RAIDA AND CRAZE comes to mind! all the diss looks while rockin the tables came from this cat!!

  • actually, that was the most expensive mixer out at that time ,just a preference of dj'/'s from cali back then, including Joe Cooley

  • Nah, playa... that was a real mixer.. not a cheater mixer like turntablists use today.

  • I was there at the riv.....what F'n memories

  • legendary

  • sick.

  • who did not bite his style?

  • Do you know how steady your hands have to be to do the needle dropping at 1:50???

  • that niggas transforming is fuckin flawless!

  • Aladdin was the shit!! A West Coast DJ goes to New York and serves them to go to the World Championship. True West Coast legend.

  • Dj Alladin=west coast legend

  • LFMAO!!!! I've mixing for 17yrs, your comment brought tears to my eyes. DJ-ing is alot easier now but the old school way taught you the fundamentals though. Great comment.

  • @koljeticut01 hard times? REAL DJ'S didnt need no handicapped curve fader crap back then! you didnt have sponsors givin you free shit like they do now! you used your own shit! and for your little wack ass cyber information! the mixer is a NUMARK 1150! everybody with REAL SKILL had those on the west coast! i doubt most of you phoney ass laptop serato jack offs could even scratch on those! sorry no handicap curve fader!

  • MY MAN!!!!

  • Amazing. Aladdin has some talent. massive fan.

  • qbert was not in this battle; I was there at the Riviera. One of the best shows we ever saw at the Riv. DJ Muggs was there as well.

  • FRESSSHHHH!!!!!!!

  • One more thing, Aladdin was the DJ for WC, they were a group called Low Profile. Back in the day before WC started using Dubb "C"

  • yeah! What was that song they had with the "more bounce" sample?

  • Pay ya dues

  • u owe me bitch...pay up

  • WTF!?

  • Qbert was in this battle. I have the video. It's Q, Bad Boy Bill> who takes his clothes off during his set and aladdin

  • ....that was dope!!

  • nice!

  • classic!!!

  • this shit is straight up gangsta... a LA westcoast legend for real....

  • This is a routine that got inspired me to transform...love it

  • Seen Aladin back in the day, he was unbelievable!

  • oh fuch that host look"d like a sex offender

  • Dopeness! This routine still gets me hyped on DJ'ng.

  • wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of his time ! im a massive fan of cash moneys ' 88 set BUT this is just lightyears ahead in terms of cleaness / ideas etc !

    aladdin = legend !

  • If Qbert didn't enter this battle aladdin would of taken 1st easyly

  • Qbert came in a couple years after Aladdin did.

  • Qbert came in a couple years after Aladdin did.

  • Qbert wasn't in this. And Aladdin did win first in the US. 2nd in the world.

  • q wasnt in this battle bro !

  • dj alladin the realdeal

  • waaaay ahead his time,he was like 1999 not 1989 :))

  • dj aladdin is befores his time

  • you also had to do bodytricks back then in order to win

  • remember seein dis 4 da 1st time,it was on another level from previous year with cashmoney..wat he did on dis routine was da wickedest thang i eva seen then...i loved his tracks also(peter piper, rock da bells,al-nassfiysh,planet rock, run DMC)...he also did tracks with king tee..4 sure,he was better than cutmaster swift in da finals,bt CMS did more, also home-turf...aladin is a DJ pioneer....woooorrd!!

  • what is the name of that record he uses at 2:00?

  • You must be a young buck - the track you want to know about is a classic 1983 hip-hop electro classic call Al-Nassfiysh (the soul)I still play my original version now - they sure not make tracks like this anymore - you need to check out your hip-hop history fella

  • you coulda just answered the question without being an asshole about it man...you should be an old enough head to know better than that...take that bullshit ass nazi elitest hiphop attitude and stick in in ya ass...

  • I appreciate everyone's opinion however to call me a nazi is a bit much. You must not truly understand what nazi's represent because if you did PooDiddy you'd know how to use that term in context -- so what your trying to say is I'm oppressing this guy to death and I have a hatred for him which would want me to kill him -- all of this because I called him young buck you're F*ck up fella.

By the way are you a young buck by any chance?

  • Get off your high horse. You can't DJ from up there

  • Actually Avoca-don't I can and I have been since 1985 what about you pony rider?

  • Good to know you've been in the game making a name for yourself for so long. I was born in 86 ha.

  • @xpoondiggy has any here ever played asahhincred 2 ?

  • dang whole coast came went that fast scracthin stuff is to ill

  • Wordup, this no asspiss

  • damm every dj back in the days always did there routines with cool j

  • that explains why i cant find any of his old shit....

  • I Love this set !!!

  • aladin is ice-t's DJ right? or produced beats for him, and evel e was his DJ?

  • Ice-T's DJ was Evil-E Aladdin was affiliated with Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate

  • this was the routine that blew everyone's mind including qberts. I thought there wouldn't be anyone better until Qbert came along. This set by aladdin would have to come 2nd to qberts in my opinion. Qberts set in the 90dmc is still mind blowing.

  • This is from the Riviera in Chicago. He won first place and then went to London finals where he came in second in the world. Many agree, myself included, he should of been first. I have the video and this guy blew away everyone. Including a guy from London who won first. If you ask me, it was fixed.

  • Two Werdz....Got Damn!!!

  • ahhhh man did you see that old school needles droppin??? Taking it back one groove on the rock the bells beat. . . sick sick sick sick

  • oooooooooooooooooow shiiiiiiiiiiiii . . .

daaaam that was sooo dam hot. Aladins the man. Was this from the qualiifications for the finals?? I never seen this set before!!
