It's horrible...ridiculously horrible. I LOVE the groop too - one of my most favorite bands in the world, but its obvious all of their creativity and ingenious talent was in the studio. Other than "Noise of Carpet" all of their video work is pretty boring.
If that is the case (I have no idea, not having heard more than 3 of his songs) I'm sure it is him ripping them off as this song was released in '94, before his time, and their other, similar music predates even his oldest stuff even further.

Regarding dwhills comment re: talent all in studio.I don't know about today but I saw
band in '93 and '94 at The Crocodile Cafe in Seattle, and they were tight and grooving.
In fact the 94 show was the second show they played that day.The first being 200
miles to the south in Portland Or. earlier that day at Lolapalooza.

pulrh, I had a chance to meet Stereolab in late 1994. Katharine wasn't particularly cute then, and I don't think 15 years have done much for her.
