Anyways, I used to play this game on my very old Packard Bell Win98 PC. It would run fine at first, but then, all of a sudden, BOOM! BSOD! I pressed a key, and went back to the game! Very strange eh? It turns out that my cables for the HDD were loose! LOL That PC is long gone now, but I still have the HDD!!

Does your BSOD screen say this?

(replace the stars with your driver)

    Or is it similar?

"After you upgrade your computer to Windows XP, you might receive the following Stop error message when the computer starts"

Have you recently upgraded to XP or installed XP on your PC recently?

I would be happy to help you.

  • haha, nice video, thank you! it looks like you just replaced your car's head gasket when you did this too lol...

  • Beta Question I Have a old Compaq Evo P-4 d51c with X.P 133mhz Ram it's not worth nothing! the Case is Very Big I was Wondering if you Could Suggest what Kind of Mobo I Could Put in it I Would Like to Make a Very Fast Quad Core is it Possible? I Never Built a P.C Before! Does a Mobo Kit Come with all the Connecting Wires I Would need and for the I/O panel ? thanks

  • @Parrotluver2 You would have to do some research and find a mobo that will support a guad 4, or buy a bear bones kit, that way it will all be compatible.

The wires to connect to the mobo are built into the case or tower, You will most likely also need a newer power supply to have all the plugs you need.

  • Beta it is my Recovery Drive But it use to be a Short Blue Bar Now it's a Long Red Bar and says 1.06 GB Free of 11.4 used and if I Click on it it shows a Folder That Says Recovery than SCHJW then I open it it shows a Bunch of numbers/Listed and dated and very small kb

Do I Need to Wipe it and Reformat it ? to fix it thanx

  • @Parrotluver2 You don't want to format your recovery drive, It is red because it is getting full,

  • Beta Question on my H.P D:\ Factory Image System Restore Drive it's Red and Long it use to Be Blue Like yours is on your E:\ Drive What Do I Need to Do to Fix it ? Thnx

  • @Parrotluver2 Your D:\ drive should be about 100mb using about 1/2 or less of that space, it is your recovery partition that is created by windows,

You might have accidentally saved data to that drive, the needed files are hidden on that drive so if you open it you should only see things that you have stored there.

  • betaflux i failed to copy the stop error at the beginning when i started to get the BSOD but still my computer keeps freezing (cause that was the problem) But now the blue screen doesn't come up so i dont know the cause is help how can i find the cause?

  • OK, I have it copied. here it is. Please help thanks again.

    Beginning dump of physical memory

Physical memory dump complete. Contact your system administrator or technical group,

  • @1positivesoul Sounds like the memory you put in might not be the same as the other stick, try leaving one in at a time.

If it will not start in safe mode try VGA mode.

If it will start you can try:

Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotes and hit Enter

It may ask you for a disk to replace broken or missing files.

After doing this reboot the computer

You could also try to install an updated driver for your video card. and your INF driver for the motherboard.

  • @BetaFlux Okay, thanks. I just tried it, and nothing it still only goes throught windows screen loading bar, then goes right to the blue screen, and crashes.

I should be clear by memory stick I meant jump drive. I have not altered anything in the machine.

    Thanks

  • @1positivesoul Have you tried my video on Recovery Console?

If that does not help than you will need to reinstall windows.

  • Mine shuts off so fast I can't read it.

i bought htis used, and put in a memory stick, and it broke.

    Mine says physical dump

  • hi,when i turn on my latop it says (os not found!!) wat should i do? pls help me..thnkzz

  • @25heineken Sounds like it cant find your hard drive, make sure all your cables are plugged in correctly. if you go into your bios (F1, F2 or DEL) you should see it will list your hard drive if it sees it.

  • I know that the following error is a common indicator of driver (software) problem, but I wanna know: could this blue screen of death error: stop 0x00000024 indicate in any case problem with cables, power supply (long time working PC) or something similar Anyone know?

  • @everyoneSalegend Actually your stop error should have a short statement at the top something like, (NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM) or something

This stop error means that your ntfs file system is corrupt (damage in the file system, bad hard drive data, corrupt SCSI or IDE drivers or a corrupt ntfs.sys file.

reinstalling windows or running a chkdsk scan should fix your problem.

  • @BetaFlux I manage to fix it! I did repair installation like you told me. Thanks! Now I am just asking this for know special reason. I am just interesting to know. : )))

  • @everyoneSalegend Yes it could have been caused by a power outage or shutting off the computer the wrong way, or it could be a bad cable. what happens is that a program is open when the pc shuts down and the operating system gets confused because the program is still in the memory when it crashed and it does not know where to return the used files so they get lost. when programs are open they store certain files in the memory and then dump back to the hard drive when you close the program.

  • @BetaFlux thank you very much for the answer. you were great help! :)))

  • @everyoneSalegend No Worries Mate..

  • I formated my laptop... And i only installed Office 2003... And some drivers.... then i restarted my computer and it showed me a blue screen... this have hapened to me before so i decided to formate it again... I set it so it would star from the cd... It began to load the files etc etc... and it showed me the blue screen again.... now i cant do anything because it wont let me format and start on safe mode......How can i fix this?

  • Boot to the cd again and go to recovery console.

run a chkdsk scan of your hard drive and if that does not help then you can put your hard drive into a different pc as a secondary drive and format it that way. sounds like one of the drivers for a device is causing the problem, hard to say which one.

  • i already fixed it... i installed it on a diferent computer as a secondary disk and erased all the drivers... thank you for answering....

  • There is something else i wanted to ask you... Im having problem with my video drivers.... I already hace the drivers for my pc model and OS... but when i install them.... It pops up a windows saying that it could not be installed because it didn't fint any compatible hardware...

  • Sometimes when you reinstall, you need to install the motherboard driver for the vga before it will be able to see your video device.

look for the (inf) drivers for your motherboard.

  • hey bro i love you today my computer it break and i see all you videos and i fix it i love you man thanks if you need something call me bro

  • pls help. whenever i click safe mode my pc restarts.. what do i do?

  • @ppvconadac that happen to me dude , just get another hard disk is nothing you can do

  • im sorry to ay this mate but i had the same problem u need new ram take it to a pc docter it will sting ur wallet thoe so b prepard

  • DUDE! LOL... i was at the mall and some of the displays had BSOD! it was funny!

  • uh i need a little help. the blue screen keeps popping up. i wen tot safe mode deleted some stuff. i tried to see what was wrong so i look on the blue screen. for yours it says SPCMDCON or watever, but mine it doesnt say anything? any help?

  • your blue screen should give you some kind of stop error code, but if you can boot into safe mode run a disk check or chkdsk.

  • oh ok so i get into safe mode, then how do i disk check? sorry im not too good with computers haha

  • right click my computer and choose Explore, then right click on the local disk c:\ drive and choose properties, click on the tools tab. you will see the check disk in there and it will ask you to restart.

  • I have a perpetual BSOD. As soon as I start windows in any mode it instantly flashes BSOD and restarts. I can't use a recovery cd because it says I dont have a HDD installed...The only thing that I thought I could do was to run a live ubuntu cd and use its browser to pull of an extremely important project. I can't acess the HDD though because it says the volume is not mountable. Any tips?

  • you would need to place your hard drive into a working pc as a secondary or slave drive and scan it.

  • okay using the unbuntu live cd and following some tutorials online I mounted it through typing jibberish in the terminal :D All good :)

  • What do you do when you can't use safe mode or any of the other methods and even tryed to to use my windows cd to boot and do a repair and it still give you the blue screen? help please!!!!!

  • How far do you get when you try to run the repair install from your cd?

  • All the drivers load and then it says windows is starting up then I get the blue screen again

  • Could be any number of things really but,

Start by unplugging all usb devices (not mouse and keyboard of course) if you have more than one memory stick, try taking one of them out.

  • yes already done all that stuff changed out video card and memory sticks. unplugged any thing possible to see what could cause this. I tryed a new psu. I'm thinking it must be in the mainboard or cpu. Can a motherboard go bad gradually?

  • Yes could be the Mobo, it will cause odd things to start happening before it dies.

  • Hello, Does this work on error message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL or how do you fix this? thanks.

  • thinks ill do this next time i get a blue screen

  • I got a blue screen of death on my desktop, i'm on my laptop right now, but everytime i restart my computer the bluescreen of death comes right before the log-in screen :(

  • Sounds like theres A driver that was installed that doesnt like the way your system is setup

  • I can't write down anything, I just see the BSOD for a sec and my PC restarts....

    Help please?

  • Press F8 to get to your safe mode screen and you should see a setting to turn off auto restart, then you can read the screen.

  • I don't need to go to safe mode, the blue screen only appears when games are loading. I disabled auto-reboot, now I gotta cause a blue screen to see what the problem is.

    Thanks anyway.

  • If it is crashing on your gaming I would update the drivers for your audio and video, start there. most blue screens are caused by video drivers being unstable

  • Actually, it started when I got Xfire, I read on some forums that it happens to other people too when someone messages them while they're ingame.

  • updating your network card driver may help be more compatible with xfire

  • @BetaFlux That what happen to my rumble fighter I update graphic driver it work!

    =]

  • thanks for the comment and the info.

  • most time you have a BSOD THE FUCKING THING GOES AWAY TO FAST TO WRITE DOWN THAT SHIT!!

  • Goto your safe mode screen you should see a setting for disable auto restart. that will make your blue screen stay up so you can read it.

  • yea this sucks when this happens it used to happen to me alot but then i found out what caused it and BOOM! :D it stopped lol

  • Its funny when u see it on win 98 presentation, but its the windows fail that i hate ++++++++++++++. Is not like when u cant boot up, that when u fix it all its ok, bsods are over there ready to appear....:S

  • Lol. Nice Vid man.

  • thanks, nice to see you stopped by.

  • rofl the bluescreen at the end =p

I think that is actually possible.

  • Yeah, they use windows too.. haha

  • Error 404: mcdouble cheeseburger does not exist.

  • does safe mode looks the same in xp and vista

  • once you get the blue screen you can not load up the OS So how do i search for the file and rename it?

  • try booting into safe mode, if that does not work then you will have to use recovery console

  • hi dave, why in the name of heavens would you get the blue screen of death,is it a virus?

  • There are many reason for the bsod, most times it is because programs share files and some programs don't agree with others and also hardware can go bad or become un stable needing a driver update.

  • I loved the picture at the end XD

    Great video!

  • Thanks a bunch for stopping by and commenting.

  • ehh i never had this i dont even know this lol ...

  • BSOD is annoying..

Lol at the end, is that a real picture? the ATM machine

  • I'm not sure if its real or not, LOL

  • LOL.

You have not been making videos as much as you used to =( You should man! Everyone enjoys them.

    Keep it up bro

  • I wish I had a mac!

  • Mac's get blue screens to, just very rare.

  • Are blue screens caused by viruses that damage files on your computer?

  • No. BSOD's are caused upon system crash, often caused by a program or function malfunctioning and crashing your computer.

  • even Bill Gates is said to get the BSOD

  • great info ! appreciated.

  • interesting:)
