  • 昭和18年の演奏ですか。日本では国家総動員体制に入り、大変な­状況に入りつつあった時代かと思うと、そら恐ろしくなりますね。­しかし、同じアメリカの同じ曲といってもBenny Goodmanのそれに比べてこちらは段違いに良い。まさにスウ­ィングしていますよ。

  • I'd say 1941-1943 because Don Byas (who replaced Lester Young) is one of the saxophonist. Another question: who's the bass player? it's not Walter Page

  • Because Freddie was a pioneer in this skill. Guitars in big bands are difficult to write for, play and stay in the same range of volume as all the other instruments with careful microphone/sound control work. As such, Freddie did a great job and should be respected for his place in the history of jazz.
