  • 5 Starrs!!!!

  • How do you cut power to the engines to the side tracks? I've been wanting to build something like this for awhile but I can't figure out how to make each line connect but still run them seperate.

  • @tillyb1989 I use DCC, so all the track (except a few spurs) are live all the time. The DCC controllers indicate which loco is being operated. If you are using DC and want different lines to run separately, you would need to have the different lines electrically isolated from each other (normally done by using insolated rail joiners), with either a separate controller for each line and/or an electrical switch to cut the power for each section.

  • Very cool.

  • I Like The Lay Out So Much!

  • Awesome! 5 Stars!

  • super switching, great job!!!!

  • Cool layout. To make it more realistic during your operations slow em down a bit. Trains do not move so fast through switches in the yard. Great job though!!!

  • Yes, the trains are moving a little too fast! But I also wanted to keep the action going, and to fit as much into the 10 minute YouTube limit as I could. The train speed was a bit of a trade off - time vs activity. When I am operating the layout without filming it I tend to move trains a lot more slowly.

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated.

  • Another fine addition to your series . Keep up the good work .

  • Wow thats a very nice layout, also how'd you make the "stanford films" thing? it's neat

  • The Stanford Film logo is basically Movie Maker transistions, and an image made in The GIMP, a free image editing program. Thanks for your comment.
