Dispensers were added with Beta 1.2. To make a dispenser, you open up a workbench, place cobblestone everywhere except bottom-center and center. In the center, you place a bow. In the bottom-center space, you place a piece of redstone. Then you place something in the dispenser and you activate it through redstone. A powered dispenser powers all adjacent dispensers. Dispensers just dispense. When arrow is dispensed, they get shot out. When TNT is dispensed, non-live TNT is dispensed.
