@simoncase - Portland has put millions USD into the course and pit facilities. Their biggest problem at PIR is the pavement taking any damage near June when the race was traditionally held - in the hotter weather the cars do a lot of damage - and it's hard to get it to set up in time. Now attendance is so poor due to lack of quality racing and promotion, the City of Portland won't put money into the track. last several Champ Car series races were big money losers.
@tobats2 - good question, if you want to see racing in person, we're pretty much out of luck here in the US for F1. CART (later Champ Car) at its peak was good quality road course racing with 800hp FI cars and good fields with quality drivers. The Tony George IRL split hurt both series badly, and questionable management, declining sponsors and attendance , higher costs, killed Champ Car. IRL, without the Indy 500, they'd be in the grave next door.
@bluejayw yes, same here but IRL is having troubles now. and trying to draw in more fans by getting a new car design...my opinion is that the prototype designs suck and i like the dallara
With the annoucnment of Turbo charge engines in 2012 that will be between 600-750 hp I doubt that the Delta Wing will get picked. It's going be between B.A.T. chassis, Swift, Lola or Dallara.
we need to watch this more than fuckin Nascar!

The tracks are so poorly maintained, do they not get any investment or something?
