  • the betta is showing agressiveness by flaring his gills....

  • I had two fishes. One was a goldfish and one was a betta fish. They were in seperate tanks. One day, i decided to put both in the same tank. When I put the goldfish in the betta's tank. The betta fish went to the goldfish and nibbled on him. Luckily, the goldfish wasn't hurt. But, he died on November :(

  • ur camrea sucks

  • I dont understand but Dont Betta fish need a heater ?

  • I highly advise putting them in separate tanks. The ammonia levels in the water created by the goldfish alone will be too much for the betta to healthily tolerate.

  • i have a 10 gallon tank with a male betta in it and hes very crazy about his own space you get in his way he will bite you !! ...i put a gold fish in with him and he nipped him a couple times i had to take the gold fish out GOLD FISH ARE DIRTYYY!!!

  • @TheJacobWoods yes haha howd u find it

  • @kellypeet first of all how old was your betta when you put your first gold fish in the tank because the pet store guy i know and i know him really well because his wife worked with me . he sead the yunger thay are when you put a gold fish in the tank with them the better in works out and get along.

  • @gnhking anther thing the gold fish can not be bigger than the betta in fact it is better if the gold fish is smaller like a feeder gold fish

  • lol, this is the video you were talking about!!!!

  • You need a biger tank

  • So, i've had a betta who bit the tail off a goldfish, and a goldfish who stripped the fins off a betta... It doesn't work either way.

  • wow... lol.. sad tht it died.. if the goldfish is really pissed. it will destroy the betta.. i tested this.. on accident.. i did the same thing you did here.. but my goldfish was white and red.. she sliced the betta to ribbons...

  • bettas and goldies do NOT go good together. they need different temperatures, goldies being coldwater and Bettas being tropical. goldies can get HUGE, over two feet long, and either the goldie will kill the betta, or the betta will kill the goldie. :/ the guy at the pet store doesn't know what he's talking about. bettas can be kept with certain placid fish, and goldies need HUGE tanks.

  • Hi um ur not suppossed to put a goldfish and a betta together.

  • People must really hate fish to keep them in such small cups like this....

  • hey i was thinking about buying one should i buy the ones with the long tails or what

  • You Probably won't believe it but i had a betta and a goldfish, and they got in a fight and the goldfish killed my female betta..

  • goldfish only die in a week cuz you suc at caring for tham. they need a 20gallon tank. 10gallon for 2fish

  • quality sucks, but very interesting

  • thats y i dont get goldfish they die in a week

  • thats why you never trust the pet store people. =/ I hope both fish are still alive.

  • what kind of filter did you buy? can you tell me the brand name and model of the filter? and can you tell me how much you got it for? Thanks so much

  • I have the same tank have u keept the betta with a different fish in this tank after the gold fish died? Or have you keept any other fish and if so how many in the tank?

  • Please tell me wat haopen did u take?them out or did the betta give up and accept him?

  • the betta quit chasing him around but the gold fish did die a couple weeks later.

  • Bettas can never be in the same tank with other fish unless the conditions are right and that's normally in a heated tank...but bettas are extremely aggressive fish and will fight anything that moves, even his own reflection!

  • @VivaAlecto male bettas are most aggressive towards other male bettas. they display aggression when they see their reflections because they mistake it for another male betta. i wouldn't say that they "fight anything that moves"; i've had countless bettas over the years and i've had most in community tanks, with goldfish mostly but even with smaller fish like guppies. they've never harmed any of their tankmates. some bettas are more hostile than others though...

  • @john13louis It's not the betta attacking the goldfish that would be the problem, its the fact goldfish are fin nippers and if it bites the bettas fins it leaves it open to infection.

  • doesn't bettas need warm water???? u are just hurting the animal

  • no betta dont need warm water or filter i think they dont

  • I have two goldfish in a tank with a crowntail, and they don't do anything to eachother at all. Infact, my bettas doing everything he did before. Nothing changed but the two goldfish being in there 0_0

  • fyi goldfish release alot of ammonia or whatever and that's bad for betta fish

  • Your betta kinda looks in destress! just remove the two :)

  • meh i have all together 7 types of gold fish a crowntail beta and a very large bottom feeder and from day one my beta hasnt had a problem with anyone actualy the feeder fish tried feeding off him on the first day which he didnt like but he got over it and made himself a home in a castle none of the other fish can get in and their all living fine but those gold fish are hell on my filters

  • man these people know nothing

  • thats a cool tank i just got a betta today, they are beautiful fish!!

  • dont listen to these pple. bettas can live with golfish.

  • are you kidding?

bettas need warm water up to 72 degrees while goldfish swim in waters between 45-60 degrees

    one of them will die

    (depends on the temperature)

  • gold fish can live healthy up to 105 degrees, they just poop more. look it up at fish profiles, and bettas can live to 64 degrees also, fish profiles.

  • Humans can also live in extreme temperatures, from 0 degrees, to 110. But we're most comfortable, and most healthy, around 70. Bettas have a much higher ideal temperature than goldfish, and though each can survive at extremely high or low temperatures, neither will thrive. Bettas in cooler water will become sluggish and lethargic, with weakened immune systems, goldfish thrive in cool water. Better to just get them each their own ideal tank :)

  • what they want and what they can have are too different things.

i honestly have my betta in 75 degree water and my cichlids in 78.

and i have no gold fish, but they would be in 62 degrees water. ( unheated water temp at my home)

simply the thing is some people refuse to do things right so I don't try and tell them what they "have" to do, but that they "can" do.

  • srry get the goldfish out fast he wil kill the bera!!!!!

  • not true gold fish can live in any temperature i have a 8 inch who i have for a year now and hes been living in a tropical environment with tropical fish and 2 bettas all in a 55 gal

  • well the guy at the pet store said it would be ok to put them together... its benn a coiple days and the fish are friends now.

  • Than the guy must be very stupid in 2 ways a Goldfish is a coldwater fish and Betta´s need tropical warm water and then the Betta will kill the Goldfish soon.

  • The betta will probably not kill the goldfish. They only fight with other betta (normally). The biggest problem you will have houseing the two together is the temperature difference required by the two different fish.

A different problem: The recomended tank size for a single tailed goldfish is 20 gallons each.

Goldfish are very dirty fish and Betta's have very delicate fins and will get amonia burns easily. Do many water changes to keep that water clean.

    Good luck with your fish.

  • what!? r they both still alive? I have two baitas but in different cubes.

  • You shouldn't put goldfish in with bettas, but hey whatever, the betta looks quite pretty though.
