Great that you uploaded this, im finding some trubble in what you call hammering. The only thing i get is a blister and some weird half muted noise. Do you know anything im doing wrong?
great vid, this is actually getting me somewhere :) well, except tis one ting i just can't seem to understand.. the Thumg, ur camera is a bit bad, so i can's see the thumb "in action". COuld u explain it? xD i might jsut be lowsy at it, but yesh :/
just keep your hand kind of rigid. u need to hit the string with the boney part (the joint) of the side of your thumb. keep ur thumb parrallel to the string when u do it. It's kind of like a quick rap to the string, like if u want to just strike it really quick. The difficulty comes in the initial clumsiness of learning how to play slap. I felt pretty inept at slapping when i first started. They key is practice. Remember when you first learned to play it felt weird... the antidote is time
Do not keep your hand rigid. Your hand should always be relaxed. Your thumb is the part which should be more or less rigid.
I would not recommend trying to adopt the technique of this young gentleman. It will lead to unnecessary strain and possibly even injury.
No disrespect meant to the channel owner, just trying to put in my two cents. I hope this won't be construed as spam, but in my opinion the best bass instruction channel on youtube is owned by MarloweDK.
Are you crying? There's no crying with a bass in the hand!!!
