This was by far one of the best ideas for a ppv, and one of the best ppv's they ever did. I remember everyone wanted either the rock or austin to win his belt back. My friends and I were like WTF when Rock went Heel and joined Vince. Great writing during 1998.
@FrancisTaylor253 aye, ill second that one except people still like Hulk Hogan, even the older people. there are quite a few who hate John Cena already. Hulk barely ever gets booed. Cena on the other hand, it seems theres always people booing him
me 2, my bday was a few days after so we thew a huge part and had all my freinds who were into WWF, and we were stoked, and so shocked at the outcome... rock going heel. who saw that comming??
Man the WWF was so stacked with talent back then. You had Austin, the Rock, the Undertaker, Kane, and Foley all in the championship tournament. Anyone of these guys could have walked away the champion that night which is why the pay per view was so awesome.
It's really sad how horrible wwe is nowadays. 98-02 was the best fucking yrs ever to be a wwf fan. Glad i caught 2 yrs of the AE in 01 and 02. I feel sorry 4 the fans who didn't.
1999 was, in my opinion, is the best year in wwf/e history. But i know we both agree from 1998-2002, it was the best time in wwf/e history. That's why it was named the attitude era...those were the days...
i remember the deadly games there were only 14 wrestlers kane and the undertaker has to get a bye which means they didn't fight anybody in the first round so they advance to the quarter finals and fight each other i dont get it
I have a question for you about your comment and please don't take it the wrong way
Did you count the fact that The Rock was surpose to face Triple H that night however thanks to Ken Shamrock at the ppv before Survivor Series that didn't happen so athough The Big Boss Man lost by DQ to Stone Cold Steve Austin so they had the Boss Man face the Rock which as we know was one of the shortest matches to ever take place in the World Wrestling Fedration at that time
I think the reason why The Undertaker and Kane got a bye was because they had one of the WWF's biggest fueds at that time so that's why they could have got a bye
Actually the reason whe UT and Kane received byes was because of their Judgement Day match
ended in a draw because Stone Cold was the guest referee and knocked them both out and Taker and Kane were fighting for the vacant WWF title after they both pinned Austin at Breakdown
I remember their classic Judgement Day match one of my personal favorites but your right their match ended thanks to Stone Cold but he wanted payback from Breakdown in your house but thanks for the help
I don't really remember why, but in comparison to other logos with skulls (Like Austin's stuff, which I didn't find creepy at all), I thought it was so creepy looking for some reason. But I will say this, the "Hell Yeah! skull back then looked badass.
I think Vince jumped the gun a bit on the RAW after Judgement Day that year when he annouced a 16 man tournament for the title at Survivor Series. No way you could fit 15 matches in 3 hours. So 16 men became 14 when Taker and Kane got a bye for being last guys to contend for the title, then you had a 5 second match for Bossman, X-Pac injured giving Austin a bye, and a joke match (Duane Gill) to fit the tournament all in.
I found it while watching a November 1998 WWF RAW IS WAR on Daily Motion. I'm pretty sure it was the November 2, 1998 RAW, but don't quote me on that.
I think your right but if my memory serves me right it air when Jr said Vince is playing a heck of a deadly game here then raw went to a break follow by the classic commerical for the 1998 Survivor Series
I think your right but if my memory serves me right it air when Jr said Vince is playing a heck of a deadly game here then raw went to a break follow by the classic commerical for the 1998 Survivor Series
the sad thing was that the actual tournament, for the most part, sucked. There were only a few main eventers, and the rest were mid and lowcarders you knew could never win the wwf title.
Actually I think that was Ken Shamrock because he used to wear a black robe to the ring, and he actually competed in the tournament (losing in the Q-finals to The Rock) whereas Marc Mero didnt even compete on the PPV
But Ken Shamrock is the second person that they show in the commercial after Stone Cold Steve Austin. Plus, Shamrock never wore a black and white robe, his robe was always black and red.
That song is awesome. I wish was like this nowadays. I'm only 15 and I understand how you guys feel. WWF was awesome.

Seriously how many ppvs have they retooled in recent years? It's ashamed because there's so much history that went on in its course.
