Farcry gets no.1 spot for me. The reason is because it combined so many good ideas (from other shooters) into one game, and then did those things better than any other game. The physics were great fun, and the level's were stunning. Decent vehicals, powerful weapons, iron sights, swimming animation and a volcano. Saying all of that though, I probably must have Quake as number 1, because I was born for Quake.

@lipehique I've never found an FPS like far cry, the experience on "realistic" mode is very though, very technical and unforgettable. All other single player fps are about rambo-ing dumb opponents and mistakes doesn't count. At least in FarCry on "realistic" they know how to shoot.

The only true close quarter combat simulation. #1 with distinction.
