I would be alot more impressed if the boards were thicker than 1/2" and they were able to pull off those acrobatics and still break a 2" standard board.

Granted, this was probably just for show, but why instill a falsehood into an aspiring audience?

@DukeR690 WTF. Generally from what I've seen, WTF tends to have the V-neck dobok tops, ITF the body length more "dressing gown" like ones. (Sorry for crude terminology to any ITF guys, just couldn't think of better way to describe it).

I must say, I'm a practitioner of Shaolin Kempo myself (I'm not too shabby, if I may say so myself) and I'm not usely impressed by TKD, especially the breaktests do not impress me. But I must say, this was one really good demonstration. I still don't like some parts of TKD, but it's definitely very interesting. :)

I would like everyone to take up martial arts! Any martial arts would do. It'll help you in every sort of way (especially discipline). Doesn't matter if it's TKD, Karate or Kung Fu!

@N3ppyZ Being a TKD student and instructor, this comment made me very happy. :] It isn't about the martial arts itself, they are all very helpful and beautiful, it depends on the person. I very much admire Shaolin Kempo, I think it's a very beautiful martial art. I also hope that everyone can experience an amazing demonstration such as this one.

when my trainer had a worldchampionship in korea I went along, and almost all planks are 5mm or 1cm and most of them aren't regular planks but modified, 'cause in the show everything must go right.

if they would try it with 2 inch planks (5cm) then it would be almost impossible to break those planks at that speed.

just look at the planks the way they break.

Okay, so it's a good demo. Not sure it is up to the hype you folks have given it. I've seen this level of expertise in my university's TKD team (I didn't train with them, but visited a few times). Basically, it's what good TKD should be able to show for itself, but not extraordinary. I'd like to see stuff like sparring on the wall, etc.
