The Barenaked Ladies lied when they said that. Wanna know why? Because I asked my dad if it's an appropriate thing to say to an authorized person when he/she orders, and he said no. So the appropriate answer is to obey them.

Ed was most certainly joking, and I HIGHLY doubt any kids learned anything from Ed when he said that. If they were old enough to understand, they would understand it isn't appropriate. If they were too young, no matter.

It's got a lot of little hidden meanings in it that kids wouldn't get - perhaps why we adults love it so much? My friend did say a 8-year-old in her class did pick up on the Gordie Howe thing though!
