The humans in this story are here to mine Energy Crystals, which the Martians oddly didn't care about much. The aliens in this video are Crystaliens. They invaded Mars and drove the Martians away. I don't care if they were there before this particular astronaut team, they destroyed and drove off the Martians, and deserve to be thrown off Mars.

Just because one system doesn't mention or constantly make references to another doesn't mean that system is non-canon. Most non-lisences themes are in one universe, even if Lego stinks at continuity.

And I don't get what connected stories has to do with anything. These creatures aren't Martians, Lego even said so, and we know from the past what Martians are like. They apparently invaded Mars and drove off the Martians. I don't know why you're so unwilling to accept that.

The aliens are not from Mars, but they still arrived before the humans, and therefore they have more of a right to the planet's resources. In the Life on Mars universe, there are Martians, but in the Mars Mission universe, there are none. They are two completely different stories.

Both universes? There's only one. There's no evidence at all that they are not connected. In the Mars Mission THEME (not universe, that's the LEGO universe you're thinking of) there are native Martians, but they left before or when the Crystaliens came. Maybe it gives them rights, but the humans didn't openly attack them first, nor did the humans attack the Martians.

Let me repeat: Why are you so against the idea that not every set is in its own continuity? I see no logic.

As far as I know, there has never been any indication that seperate themes have any connection. They could very well take place in the same reality, (there's no indication that they don't), it'sj ust that the different themes don't connect with each other. Mars Mission simply doesn't interact with the storylines or characters of any other theme unless Lego says so.

It is literally an entire universe. The themes are all in the same canon, except liscenced ones. There's been truckloads of indication everywhere. @grevgnu I just realised, thats basically what Lego Rock Raiders was. In the game you had to build bases, kill the inhabitants already living there and steal their rocks and energy crystals. And the Chrome Crusher was basically a giant tank.
