Steve and Ronnie swapped lead vocals on this song and Ronnie had nothing but high praise of Steve Gains. He was a class act for sure. I couldn't possibly pick a favorite between him and Ed King though. They were both BAD ASS guitar players. Lynyrd Skynyrd is the reason I picked up a guitar some 35 years ago. I've always wanted a black Les Paul too thanks to Steve. Hopefully that dream will come true very soon.

I always loved this song! My brother and I had a rock band years ago and we did this very cover song. The song came out perfect and we were so elated and ecstatic about it. We had a great lead player who was from Texas and he could play that thang! My brother, who is now gone, to be w/ Jesus, was a wonderful drummer! I played rhythm and when the song was done, we realized that we, as a whole, were much greater than the sum of each other. This is to My brother Blake and Roy! God bless you!
Thejodyg could'nt have said It better, If you have ever played In a band you know how hard to make your sound come together this tight, good stuff forever !
Let's not lose track of the rythm section folks. Artimus, and Leon Wilkerson, one of the best bass players ever on the planet (in my humble opinion), and you definetly have a band for the ages!

@theShowStopper321 Yes, your partially right, had the crash not happened they would be up there. But with the Stones? C'mon bro, get real! They can't even stand toe-to-toe with the Allman Brothers. Have you been smelling the gasoline too?
@BENFICA60 Skynyrd blew the stones off stage, and so much better than allman brothers, heads and shoulders above them all. Shouldnt even mention stones and Skynyrd in same sentence. I think you might be smelling the gas to.
this album was the only album to feature another lead vocalist " steve gaines " plus " aint no good life " damn the whole album was a show casing for their new found guitarest pretty much. steve had such amazing talent its ashame fate took him away =( damn you fate!!! atleast now your in rock heaven where your strings never break ;)

If that plane crash didn't happen they'd be up there with the Stones today. The had so many good foot-tappin songs in such a short period.
