i mean yeah she should of been wearing a helmet.... not that it would effect if she fell or not but also heaps of horses/ponies refuse jumps even one that are very unlikely too. also if she didnt know how to ride how would she be jumping never mind being able to ride bareback towards the jumps: so think about.. yeah the riders riding needs improvement but every ones ridng neededs improvement even top dressage riders.

How is anyone saying "She can't ride bareback"? If a horse refuses a jump bareback, ANY rider would be likely to fall off. Hats only help with head and possibly neck injuries, they don't keep you on a horse. It probably WAS the girl's fault, but so are a lot of problems with horses. She clearly didn't kick the horse on enough to get over the jump, but that's something to work on, not to blame it all on her and tell her she's a terrible rider. Leave the girl alone, you can't change the past.

It is how ever a good idea to wear a helmet but i cant say much because even i dont wear one when i run barrels.! When your in the hospital because of major head injuries and memory loss because he spooks unexpectedly then all i can say is i told you so. Wear a helmet even if you trust your horse completely, I've has my horse for 8 years and i can jump and ride him around with no bridle, no saddle, no wire, no nothing, i've even gone swimming with him, but i still wear a helmet because anything can happen no matter how trained or docile they are they are still animals.
