The consensus is that plasma displays are better, but LCD displays, particularly those that use LED backlights, are closing the gap. Plasma has better blacks and perform better with motion, while LCD displays are brighter, lighter and aren't subject to burn-in (although this problem has been largely eliminated with modern plasma displays).

selling your tv? i need a newer one, mine has faux wood grain on the side, shiny knobs, and a antenna made of aluminum foil. but other than that great 1980s tv sound on it broke around 15yrs ago but still love it, corners are a lil dark and have to play mw2 with brightness all the way up. probably the only tv that has had 2 people die on it and next to it. grandma hit her head on it 3yrs ago and didnt make it to the hospital then dad had a heart attack while watching it one day..

... your an idiot, first gen plasmas did burn in, however the worst burn in affected screens are CRTS, like we ALL used to have, have you ever seen  CRT with burn in? to be honnest a plasma has upto a million times higher contrast *(literally) also a response tine of less then 0.01 miliseconds. That's called image retention, and is temporary. It goes away within 5-10 minutes. True burn-in is basically a non-issue on any modern plasma TV.

I would say LCD because plasma you have to replace a part in it about every 2 - 5 years, and they get very warm. The main thing Plasmas are good for are sport movies, and gaming because they have very good qaulity for that.

i used to have the Old Version of the Aquos Plasma. only 2 HDMI inputs. it was a 52"

tottally fucked me over. had a crack down the screen. but the new 60" is just AMAZING(:

Nice TV man. My brother has a 46" Sharp AQUOS and it's pretty awesome. I have a40" Samsung myself and I love it. Sucks what happened with your LG. Just stick with the TV's that start with "S" I suppose. Samsung, Sharp, and Sony, lol.

If u compare any sharp / samsung model and a sony model (w or z or x series) u'll understand the difference... i think sony is clearly better..interms of color,noise reduction,compatibility, functionality etc.....the problem is its expensive...

Nothing really. HDTV is basically the kind of quality of television your getting. An LCD TV is a "type" of television set. You have LCD and Plasma displays, both have their pros and cons which I bet you can research yourself. :) I hope that helped!

anyway... I have never owned an lg lcd but I have all lg kitchen applinces and I love them they have touch contols and are extreemly quiet and are good quality... I have had a lg cell phone and I loved that too.

Good choice on Sharp they have great lcd's but are not a high price tag like sony.
