How does the Motorola droid work as a Music and video player? Is the sound quality good? I'm thinking about buying one from ebay to replace my current MP3 player, they're going for under $90. I won't be using it as a phone, I can't afford to. lol
@Gipshaw It plays music on the Droid player, and it also plays video. I haven't heard it yet, but I assume it's quite decent, plus, you can buy sound enhancing apps. You can use the WiFi for apps and surf the internet without service. I'd check Craigslist. I got one for $50.00 with a charger in great condition. ^_^

Best move I ever made was dropping GSM (T-Mobile) for CDMA (Sprint (Evo)). The call quality is uncomparable, I have 3G nearly everywhere, and I don't drop calls anymore. I can only speak for android but I think that the market is on par with the app store. I get the same quality apps on android as on iOS, even if there are less apps total.

I had an iPhone for two years, until i dropped it, and it shattered on impact. So I bought the Droid because I wanted Verizon and something different. I gotta tell ya, I'll never go back. And now that the new 2.2 firmware (Froyo) supports flash (iphone does not) and pinch to zoom I just think iPhone is one bad Apple.

So in effect, what this review is saying is that the iPhone is good at everything except what it's designed for, which is being a phone. The gewgaws are nice, but it's still a phone, so the Droid beats it in that respect, hands down. I read a review once that said the iPhone is the nicest pocket computer, and the worst phone, ever designed. I'd concur with that. Android is catching up, and with its open sourcing, will soon surpass the iPhone. The upcoming Droid X already does. Go Android!

sorry, i think i will go with the phone with expandable memory, where 98% of the apps are free, where i can run multiple applications at the same time, and where i can install swype with out a problem...
besides, that whole music thing, i uploaded my itunes music to it seamlessly with out a problem

Definitely the Droid. iPhones are trashy pieces of plastic. You drop it, everything. DONE. Oh god, atleast the Droid didn't get anything like a 3.3... Now the bestest smartphone, THREE KEYBOARDS, and a more reliable phone, I'd rather have a Droid than anything else... Droiddoes com people, it'll show you the greatest of the Droid. You iPhone lovers will have your mind changed, times two. And wait untill the Droid X comes out. iPhone = FAIL. ;)

I had an iPhone for two years, until i dropped it, and it shattered on impact. So I bought the Droid because I wanted Verizon and something different. I gotta tell ya, I'll never go back. And now that the new 2.2 firmware (Froyo) supports flash (iphone does not) and pinch to zoom I just think iPhone is one bad Apple.

So in effect, what this review is saying is that the iPhone is good at everything except what it's designed for, which is being a phone. The gewgaws are nice, but it's still a phone, so the Droid beats it in that respect, hands down. I read a review once that said the iPhone is the nicest pocket computer, and the worst phone, ever designed. I'd concur with that. Android is catching up, and with its open sourcing, will soon surpass the iPhone. The upcoming Droid X already does. Go Android!

The last Catagory isnt about the phones its about the carriers in a foreign country where more reliable carries have won Apple Contracts it would leave the droids in its dust but since the last category doesn't even focus on the phones rather it focuses on the network i view the iphone as the winner.

I have them both cause I'm a smart-phone freak, and I have to say. Droid is much better. I mean, the iPhone is all good. But, the look is getting me tired. Apple should change the look, it's not excited. I'm bored of the Safari browser, those gray squares in the back are annoying, and the keyboard is also annoying in the iPhone. Droid's camara is much better then the iPhone's one...

The only thing that should matter FIRST is performing exactly what the phone is named for!! Its a CELL PHONE! Multimedia stuff, games, and other apps are awesome too but they come secondary.

Now see, I take issue with the 'Call Quality & Performance" round, as it seems like that's more of a Verizon vs. AT&T thing as opposed to a Droid vs. IPhone thing. If Droid was on AT&T, it would probably behave the same way the IPhone presently does where call quality and performance is concerned.

hey i have played wit both phones before and it is just a matter of what company u have if u have att you will like the iphone if u have verizon u will like the droid i think both phones are good for the most part i also thought that when i use my dads iphone to call people while my phone is frozen(samsung impression) tha call quilty is good but i do think that you do get a lot of dropped calls but in my opion i like the iphone better
