also you can do it yourself. just jump onto the mav (a standing jump) so then it's a first time attemp of getting ontop and jusmp of at the right hight! also you can go up at full speed. you might have had to of said this because it is pre-patch
@xephosman You can go up full speed now? I'll test that, but I know that you can do it by yourself. I say you can do it by yourself and how to do it in the annotations. :) And, yes, getting ontop of things with the MAV was different before the patch, lol.
It's a glitch, it's being in the game is unintentional and you're all cunts for exploiting it. The only people saying the opposite are the snipers who use this exploit to get cheap kills to make themselves feel good; and inevitably lose the game anyway since they're not playing the objective.
Might as well use it to your advantage while it lasts :P I go up on the highway or the inaccessible buildings below it every time I have the chance. I mean at least we're not boosting right? We're using an in-game mechanic that allows us to gain an advantage/disadvantage depending on what you do up there, either you pick off quite a few people, spot enemies or get M320'd or Mortar'd your ass off. The funny thing that happens is the amount of enemies that focus all of the firing towards you xD
@NorthLondonFlyers I know that you can do it on your own. This video was made before the last patch, when you COULDN'T do it by yourself. I clearly state both of these things in the video annotations.
If DICE did make this intentionally, then why are you floating above the road? I very much doubt it's intentional. Granted it's inventive and I don't see how DICE could have missed this but its happening a lot now, almost every game on that map I see people on there either my side or the other. Still last time I saw this happening I covered my team mates progression on flag capturing by sniping back at the guys on the highway... one thing for the floaty glitch, no place to hide!
@croesis The reason I think it was intentional was because last patch (this video was made BEFORE the last patch) DICE fixed the floating soldier glitch at the end of the video and instead gave you the ability to get yourself ontop of things *by yourself*. My reasoning is that if DICE patched the floating glitch, musn't they also know of the elevator 'glitch'? So if they patched floating and left in the elevator, perhaps they're okay with the elevator? :) Just a thought I had. ^_^
@TopHatRunner Fair enough, there are places on a few maps accessible by this method which can't be reached by any other means and generally the snipers aren't contributing greatly to the objectives of their side. It's not hard to snipe or rpg back anyway. Actually what annoys me more is being killed by the mav by being 'run over' by it as if it was a tank!

If DICE is going to give you the ability to road kill with it, they need to make it easier to shoot down. The thing can take more abuse than a person, I hit it directly with the M26 MASS from about 5 feet away and didn't kill it. Thats just ridiculous.

@NightmareRider50 I haven't actually done this with a friend since the patch, but if you do like I did at the end of the video (get on your own MAV) you can lift yourself up into the air and get yourself onto the Highway so I'm assuming you still can do this with friends. :D
@LaxNathan99 Not necessairly. Their last patch fixed the glitch mentioned at the end of the video, but left in the ability to fly soldiers up with the MAV. Actually, the patch gave you the ability to fly yourself up with the MAV.

@lifer4jdm I think I know where you're talking about. No one can hit you, but you can't hit them either. If you can shoot people but they can't shoot you in the spot you're thinking of, then I don't know of that spot.
The easiest way to counter this glitch? Get a full squad with mortars and light them up, make em move around so much they can't shoot, and if they stand still a mortar falls on there head. But I still use this anyway
@ellipsis117 Mortar, tanks, shooting back are all good counters. Last time my friend 'n I got up there we had half the enemy team mortaring and sniping at us. Some tanks were fighting us too, 'twas intense lol. The enemies were TERRIBLE shots but my friend and I are great snipers so we managed to matrix-dodge enemy snipers and mortars and pick up a good amount of kills. I eventually ran out of ammo and jumped off the highway 'n PTO'd with my M93R untill the match ended. I had a perfect round. :)

@gasolinenmatches23 Rofl, usually when I get up there it ends in epic sniper battles. I love sniping, so some of the most fun I've had in BF3 were some intense sniper duels I had while up there. :D

It's a matter of perspective, but I think it's clearly a bug abuse. You are using a glitch in the game to gain an unfair advantage against the other players.
It's obvious you ain't supposed to be able to stand on the drone.
Hope DICE fix this drone issue, or set this area as "out of combat zone.
Or provides players with regular ways to get there.
Yes you can get killed up there, but it's easier to hide atop there than people on the bottom of the map. Spawn beacon cannot be hit up there too.
@startide Yes, it is a bug but I'm just saying it's probably the least unfair advantage I've ever seen gained from using a bug. :) It is still an advantage though, and I rarely ever do this anymore for that reason. It can be fun sometimes to get into an epic sniper fight with the American's beginning spawn in Conquest, however. :)
Maybe DICE will fix this with the next patch. I just hope they leave in the glitch where you can make yourself float in the air... xD
@TopHatRunner There is a patch shipping in tonight, they didn't seem to have changed much as far as maps are involved. Although you can always expect stuff to slip out of patch notes ^^
Much to be fixed there is, especially making spawns / base areas immune to mortars... on grand bazar if you get cornered at your spawn in conquest, you get assraped and mortarspammed all the way down to 0 ticks without being able to fight back. Although setting this map to 64 players might be the reason for this
@startide I also hear they're dimming flashlights. :) No more turning a corner and walking into an alien abduction LOL. Yeah, that happened to some enemies of mine while I was playing Grand Bazar yesterday. Perhaps they'll make more of that region out of bounds for the other team. @gasolinenmatches23 Rofl, usually when I get up there it ends in epic sniper battles. I love sniping, so some of the most fun I've had in BF3 were some intense sniper duels I had while up there. :D

@TopHatRunner ha now that i been getting up there with my brothers it's not so bad lol i hope i dont get reported its so fun they never see it coming i use sks with suppressor and bypod. and you can have friends give you a lift over to the other buildings close to the Back yard flag its sweet.

@gasolinenmatches23 I like using the SV98 or M40A5, goin' for headshots, lulz. :D Well, DICE patched the floating soldier glitch at the end of the video, but they left in the ability to use the MAV to get on top of stuff, so maybe they're okay with it? Who knows.

It's a matter of perspective, but I think it's clearly a bug abuse. You are using a glitch in the game to gain an unfair advantage against the other players.
It's obvious you ain't supposed to be able to stand on the drone.
Hope DICE fix this drone issue, or set this area as "out of combat zone.
Or provides players with regular ways to get there.
Yes you can get killed up there, but it's easier to hide atop there than people on the bottom of the map. Spawn beacon cannot be hit up there too.

@startide Yes, it is a bug but I'm just saying it's probably the least unfair advantage I've ever seen gained from using a bug. :) It is still an advantage though, and I rarely ever do this anymore for that reason. It can be fun sometimes to get into an epic sniper fight with the American's beginning spawn in Conquest, however. :)
Maybe DICE will fix this with the next patch. I just hope they leave in the glitch where you can make yourself float in the air... xD

@TopHatRunner There is a patch shipping in tonight, they didn't seem to have changed much as far as maps are involved. Although you can always expect stuff to slip out of patch notes ^^
Much to be fixed there is, especially making spawns / base areas immune to mortars... on grand bazar if you get cornered at your spawn in conquest, you get assraped and mortarspammed all the way down to 0 ticks without being able to fight back. Although setting this map to 64 players might be the reason for this

@startide I also hear they're dimming flashlights. :) No more turning a corner and walking into an alien abduction LOL. Yeah, that happened to some enemies of mine while I was playing Grand Bazar yesterday. Perhaps they'll make more of that region out of bounds for the other team. I guess I'll find out what the patch changes in a week, my internet is going to be down for about that long. D:

For a camper, he moved quite a bit up on the highway.
I can't understand why people can't grasp the concept of sniping, you certainly don't run and gun with a bolt action rifle so that's just ignorant to call a sniper, a camper. ;)
