  • wow 110 and he still able

  • I feel it in my quads more then the hams. Wonder if I'm doing it wrong

  • Thanks for posting! It's a big help.

  • Dope shit.

  • i been doing these alot too man! these are good stuff :)

  • perfect form

  • mcdonald and other great references. Come at things with a more scientific approach as opposed to a meathead mentality. Just saying im stupid makes you more idiotic than you can imagine. Yeti out. Bye guys. Have fun in the gym rofl.

  • @AmusingYeti AHAHAH you're just mad that you even had to admit we were right. "Oh it's not functional.... just um.... helps build explosiveness, yeah thats it." Oh ok, so you can use the strength and explosiveness, yet it's not functional? LOL!!! What a fail!

  • @crystallinentity I know right? This guy is pretty pathetic. "Oh it's not functional strength because squatting isn't part of the sport..." Then even admits he's wrong! Ha!!!!

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 Yeah at least he knows when he's beaten, even if he won't admit it. He knows when to tuck his tail and leave.

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 I pray to crop circles everyday, but the aliens never respond; what am I doing wrong? Please help. I even setup a Christmas Tree, but they never showed. I'm confused. LOL

  • @AmusingYeti LMAO YOUR JUST TO STUPUD, MORON. I know more than you.

And to those who keep calling me a troll here on YouTube, just stop doing that to me; it's mean!!!!!!

    I am the smarter one!

  • @crystallinentity Wow, whether you're right or wrong you are as obnoxious as hell.

  • Haha i tried my best to educate you two. You have added nothing to disprove anything except "Lolz if iz kickz uz in da head its functional." Squats and deadlifts are excellent but dont be fooled into thinking they will add "functional strength" to your sport. Play the sport and lift weights seperately. Simple as that. Beneficial vs functional. Ill leave it at that. I can tell by the tone of both of you, you are caught in the "if i dont squat i need to kill myself" mentality. Look up Lyle

  • @AmusingYeti We never said you don't need to practice the sport. Please don't be so stupid. We said that squats build functional strength. You even admitted we were right and tried semantics to hide it. You lose. End story.

  • Good video man, nice form. I like seeing alternatives to the stiff leg deadlift like this.

  • interesting never seen that before good vid

  • i can see doing this if your a fucking chick

  • @Shanerc310 No its called functional strength. If youre an athlete these are favoured over the usual deadlift. I can tell youre gonna reply like "Oh dawg all you need to do is squat and deadlift and thats the only things you ever need to do in the gym ever in your lifetime" They dont build functional strength. One of the benefits of this is the proprioceptive work at the ankle. Atheletes shouldnt train like powerlifters. Barbell squats are excellent but dont get stuck in that mindset.

  • @AmusingYeti first of all favoured is not a word so go back too school dip shit and i'm not going to say oh dawg because i'm not a fucking nigger squats rule every athlete does that and dumb niggers like you do shit like this monkey bitch

  • @Shanerc310 To start with favoured is a word. Also no, every athlete does not squat. In fact if you do your research you will find a few institutions taking barbell squats out of their training routines for their athletes. The back is the weak link in the squat and restricts your legs from lifting maximum load. I do still squat but different forms. I.e split squats, pistol squats, lateral squats. They got me a 39 inch standing vert. Also barbell squats slow you down. Why the insults? Calm down.

  • @AmusingYeti Back is the weak link? Lol of course! I'm sure that's why pretty much everyone can deadlift more than they squat, right?

Barbell squats slow you down? And they don't build functional strength? LOL!! Stop talking.

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 Oh dear we have another meat head here. Ill make it simple for you. Lifting weights does not build "functional strength." Functional strength is obtained through playing the sport alongside your weight training. No manner of weird balance board exercises/weights will build what trainers call "functional strength." Its bullshit thats sold to idiots. As for the squat biomechanically the low back is the weak point. Rather than randomly saying things how about evidence?

  • @AmusingYeti Yeah, here's my evidence: YOU'RE STUPID! LOL!

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 Thats exactly my point. You arent showing me proof as to what you say. Train smart, not idiotic. If you have studied even the slightest biomechanics you realise the low back is a weak point in the squat. As it is for ALL lifts. Its a stabilising joint and so no load can be applied. Simple science buddy. Deny it as much as you like.

  • @AmusingYeti I love when morons ask for proof when they didn't give any in the first place. HA!

It's the weak point in ALL lifts? Oh, so it;s the weak point for bench? For Row? AHAHAHA YOU'RE SO STUPID IT'S HILARIOUS!!!

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 Yeah it's pretty funny, isn't it? Go easy on him though. He's retarded.

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 The lumbar spine is the connection between the thoracic spine and the hip flexor/posterior chain area. It essentially acts as a hinge. The hinge is the weakest point of any object. Hence why form for deadlifts and squats is so important otherwise you will seriously injure yourself. Joint by joint stabilisation means the lumbar spinal region is extremely prone to injuries.

  • @AmusingYeti Oh dear we have another moron here. The low back is the weak point? AHAHAHAHA!!!!

And to say squats and deadlifts don't build functional strength is just foolish. But, based on the other stuff you said, I'm not surpised.

  • @crystallinentity This coming from the person that still thinks functional strength is an actual thing! You are stuck in the past. Look at modern day trainers; for instance Joe Defranco. Functional strength training is a load of BS. Nothing you can do in the weight room will build functional strength. Its what you do WITH the weights that matters. Also its called the lumbar spine; its the weakest point in all lifts. Simple biomechanics... but clearly you have no understanding.

  • @AmusingYeti Nothing you can do in the weight room builds functional strength, yet it's what you do with the weights that matters? FAIL!!!!

  • @crystallinentity *sigh* Functional strength is built by playing the sport you play at the same time as you weight train. This is what functional strength is. Building strength in the gym and applying it to the sport. Just lifting weights a certain way will not mimmick this motion. It astounds me that you are so ignorant to this that you just act like a spoilt 12 year old. Once again, train smart!

  • @AmusingYeti Yeah, what the other guy posted pretty much summed it up. You lose. If you really dont think adding so much weight to your squat isn't going to help you kick harder, then you're stupid. Ditto for deadlifts. If you think those arent going to help you wrestle and take people down in MMA, you're stupid. It's that simple.

  • @crystallinentity As i said below. Theres a big difference between beneficial and functional. I think this is where we are all on different pages.

  • @AmusingYeti Nice try with the semantics. You FAIL!

  • @crystallinentity Notice how i have stayed calm whilst responding? Anger is the first sign that idiocy is to follow. Why randomly insult someone over the internet? How about debate as opposed to fire insults. Ive studied biomechanics extensively over the last 2-3 years and worked with a lot of athletes ranging from strongmen to powerlifters to football players. As ive said before i have a 39 inch standing verticle which was gained through a combination of box squats and eccentric KB swings.

  • @AmusingYeti Aww, you don't like it when we laugh at you? Let me get you a tissue! LOL!!

Yeah, I'm sure you do all of that. And I'm Tom Hanks. See how little that means with no proof? Either way I could not care less about you're mediocre vertical.

Please, you already admitted we were right. You're just going to prove that you're the one whos mad when you keep responding long after it's not needed.

  • @AmusingYeti AHAHAH, NOTHING YOU CAN DO IN THE WEIGHT ROOMM BUILDS FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH? How can you be so stupid? Sure squats may not help something like golf, but for you to say an aboslute like that? What about sports that use leg power? Or back power?

Look at it this way: If I add 100 lbs on my squat, it's going to hurt your little brain alot more when I kick you in the head! LOL!!!

  • @teaearlgreyhot1 Ahh see this is where you are going wrong. You are confusing beneficial with functional. Squats are a very beneficial exercise but whats so sport specific about them? Jumping is sport specific, sprinting is sport specific, playing the sport is sport specific. Squats are not sport specific. They build mass and explosion which is beneficial for the sport. Also calm down a little. Use some of that retarded anger to cure a disease or something.

  • @AmusingYeti Ahaha angry? I'm just laughing at your dumb ass. Thanks for admitting I'm right! The point is they have significant carry over. Saying it differently won't help you though.

  • Good form, yes, and good balance. Speaking of which, is there more of a balance-developer than, say, a muscle builder?

  • Good form!

  • Its more strenuous if you don't return your foot to the floor until all the reps are done. Good job though.

  • good work buddy
