  • Советская идея)))

  • It's about replacing the old with the new? But buses from the 50s used the same system: search Gyrobus in wikipedia.

  • As a former datacentre employee I know how much maintenance batteries require. My question however is this: How many of the VDC-systems will you need in a datacentre that has a load of 3 Megawatts on the net for cumputerpower only?

  • flywheels are so sexy

  • or if they are its not US stock so its hard to buy it

  • unfortunately many of these companies are not public so you cant buy stock in them

  • try ticker (ACPW)... similar to VYCON, just popped 36% today!!!!!!

BCON is another one ready to move in the next 6 months!

  • too bad im @#$ broke. lol. i know that this will become a huge industry but theres no way i can profit.

nothing you can do but laugh about the situation.

  • lol jawadesign, thank you for your comment... i went and checked my account, turns out i did actually buy some ACPW about a year ago.. i just had forgotten the ticker symbol lol.

    thanks sir / madam.

  • @jawadesign Move off the market? They have received a special consideration from the SEC stalling them from being de-listed. Check out the share price.

  • Hows this idea. Remember those gyro toys you could balance on a string? Well why not a flywheel energy storage for use in a car that turns only when the brakes are used. Magnetic bearings for less friction...its turning may make the car more stable also when this thing turns its spinning a permanent magnet alternator making 3 phase AC the correct gear ratio would have to be determined for the flywheels alternator. Or the flywheel could BE the alternators rotor magnets.

  • A google search of "elevator return energy", found that modern elevator systems in tall buildings do have special drive mechanisms that generates return energy when the elevator is going down. Thus, the complete needed technology for storing residential solar energy in a special heavy-concrete-weighted solar energy storage elevator is already available. The "overall energy" use for tall building elevators is very small ( just the cost of resistance and inefficiency ).

  • talk more

  • The present technology for this idea may not make it practical, as I originally thought.

  • These aren't quite cheap enough or provide energy long enough for home use. But the power companies can plug these things in tomorrow!

  • Flywheels are a very interesting energy storage technology.

Google reveals much of interest about "flywheel energy storage".

If i had a solar power house, i would like to use a flywheel system instead of batteries. There needs to be more talk about costs.

  • How much energy does the magnetic bearings consume? Someone here have any idea?

  • Perhaps encourage your states to extend conservation incentives to include flywheel and other systems that capture and apply what was formerly wasted. This can include CHP systems also (Combined Heat & Power) and it would be reasonable to REQUIRE utilites to capturwe all wasted Fossil heat while they are updating emissions and other by-products/ filtration equipment.

  • Very interesting! Good to hear companies going for green answers for our kids futures!!

  • Cool stuff..

  • Awesome Green Energy Company! Hope everyone hears about this one.

  • Fascinating! I had no idea. Go VYCON!
