This guy is sharp, and is really a perfect surrogate. He won't overshadow Obama too much, but he also can carry himself on his own two feet. Not a lightweight by any means.
Absolutely right, I think he'd be the best possible VP choice because of age, experience, appeal, electability- what more do you need? He's been a Governor and Senator and is only 52, plus tall and attractive which matters and has good international policy experience plus could put Indiana's electoral votes in the blue column.
He'd maybe be a decent choice for president, but not now. McCain would probably fry him if he was the nominee. VP wise maybe, but I don't think he'd carry IN because us hoosiers wouldn't like seeing him on an elitest's ticket.
I think the main thing giving him pause is that he doesn't like him personally ... which annoys me because I think that's immaterial. I actually think friction is a good thing, and like Barack said, he wanted a diverse and divided cabinet ... not have "yes men" like Tim frikkin' Kaine.
Bayh might over shadow Obama and Obama might not like that. Bayh seems so much more substantial. Obama delivers a great speech with a teleprompter... but does not think on his feet nearly as well as Bayh.
He's obviously going to get it. Very smooth, secures a solid state, good background, nothing particularly weird of controversial and was a Clinton supporter originally so he bridges the gap.
It's all about Bayh. He is ready to be president if the need arises and his ability to cross party lines, much like Obama, will add tremendously to the ticket. And let's not forget the 11 Electoral votes from Indiana they will undoubtedly go Demif he is on the ticket!
i wouldnt want that...it would turn me off the clintons. they talk all this shit about being pro-civil rights and then to put a WASP on the ticket. I really like Al Gore (who Bill tipped) and like Evan Bayh too but nothing would excite the base more if she put Obama on the ticket. But then again the Clintons only want to win.
I think you're just use to seeing other politicians, whom in comparison, make Bayh look like Brad Pitt. Btw ... you should see his wife - not surprisingly she's hot.

Can Evan Bayh spell potato?

If Obama can carry Indiana, then he's going to win the election. So the only question (on a political level) is: Will Bayh as VP flip Indiana?
politicalfarce 3 years ago
even if he doesn't it would be worth draining McCain's campaign resources in a state he shouldn't of had to defend so heavily.

I don't think Obama has to worry about Bayh overshadowing Obama. Only Hillary Clinton could overshadow Obama.

13000 Iraqis = 140000 Americans...Hey, how much are you charging for your Iraqi? 11 Americans? You've got yourself a deal!

Should Clinton get the nom,
Bayh will be her running mate.
Bayh makes Edwards look only marginally cute.

Sorry to be so shallow, but this man is one of the most handsome humans on the planet... and that voice. I just can't help it. Mr. Bayh, that is.

Nominay: Oh, no. You see, Bayh is better looking than Brad Pitt to me. I truly have my own tastes. I'll bet his wife is hot, but gimme Bayh. ;-)

Well, good news for you then, because he's going to be the next Vice President of the United States, so you're going to see a lot more of him soon.
