  • Adjust the valves while your in there. That ticking noise is the valves NOT the injectors like a lot of people think.

  • @toyautotech Ture. Most people with Toyota don`t have money to maintain they recycle car,instead they have money for montly payment with interest and fees.the truck was send to the scrap-yard for recycling...:).The ticking is cause by a low oil pressure(worn out oil pump).the hydralic valve lifers are bleeding down causing clearance issue with the rocker and the tip of the valve stem.

  • @toyautotech yes that is valve tick but a lot of the 3vze injectors are very loud and give off a ticking noise but in most cases you cant hear injector tick at idle just when accelerating ...hold one end of a screwdriver to the fuel rail and another to your ear. while the motor is running the injectors tick quite loud

  • @LifEndsQuick A hydraulic lifer noise is much louder than any injector ticking in any application.Remember all Hydraulic lifer are internally equip with a coil spring.High mileage will reduce coil spring tension.replacement is the only solution.

  • hey steve I got a leaky valve cover on my 2001 Impala with the 3.8.... I think its botht the front and the back... how much would you charge to fix something like that? Also ever did the valve covers on a 3.8? Any idea where to get a book for a how to guide or something like that?
