About that rumor in your destcription, I'm sure it's false. The false rumors around MK I and II were many. I investigate them in MK II, some of them very creative...

In the Mortal Kombat Secrets website there's nothing like that rumor of yours mentioned, however it IS described as the condition to fight "a second reptile" - that's a glich unique to the Genesis/SegaCD versions. So it pretty negates that possibility.

The hints were actually spot on. Look to the moon (something has to fly), perfects, no block, pit stage.

This is easily my fave secret character in a fighting game, it was difficult to get to him without cheats. He remained unplayable and there was this 10 million bonus.

Just lame that Sonya cannot fight him due to no block.

@TheSonicGod Euhm... maybe you mean it sounds differently... I think that's because the music might actually be "midi" files and in the dos version differently "soundblasters" can be selected. (Different midi players/sound tables).

"General MIDI" or "sb soundblaster" probably sounds best to most people ! ;)

Also the X-Fi crystalizer makes it sound slightly different.

(Adlib is probably worst/simplest sound, except for pc speaker which is the worst! ;):))

About that second rumor... it's false. Reptile can't be unlocked on SNES at all. You can only fight him. I've beaten the game with all flawless victories and without ever using blocks. I wish he was unlockable though.

This rumor you speak of, is NOT a rumor. I know for a fact that you can fight a silver reptile on the Sega Genesis version of mk1. You must fight on the pit in the second endurance, the usual flawless/fatality routine. But you have to do it again on reptile. Once you've beaten reptile, a silver reptile jumps out. He has the pallets of the previous 2 fighters you fought in the endurance, and they're all silver, but he has the same moves. Easy w/ cheats, I think Battle Plan 4 is endurance 2 pit.
