  • You're a terrible person for putting that terrible music on the video.

  • Who made the music? Is awesome...

  • Nice picture of James Hunt (probably from his 1976 championship year).

The first melody is Kraftwerk's "The Telephone Call".

  • @McLarenMercedes

Its Watkins Glen 1977 - when sex was safe and racing dangerous *g*

    Jap Kraftwerk :)

  • if someone atempted creating a batch file of this what would be the code for it?

  • if only i born 20years ago...

  • For some reason when it doesn't let me type in terminal mode on ttgreen, Any help??

  • @modman1234567

You need to set "Echo on" - dunno how it works using ttgreen (on default settings I had no problems typing)

Perhaps you should use another terminal prg (with echo on) - mabye your other (emu) setting are not correct?

  • That just reminds me of GTA Vice City lol

  • @LegendKillerO2Jammer

*bg* Video killed the radio star!

  • @quipzz

Actually "The Telephone Call" by Kraftwerk.

  • Huh. Attempted to connect, selected ASCII mode, get NO CARRIER.

    Must be windows 7....

  • The first time I saw a 300 baud modem is when I was in 6th grade. Woah this video brings back childhood memories!

  • My favourite terminal programs were: BobsTerm Pro, TouchTerm, and DesTerm

  • @toomanymodz what are they used for? Also in nowadays?

  • i can´t connect to your bbs :(

  • @MrFiking15

Try another telnet bbs (check out the bbs list - link in the video description)

  • @quipzz thx

  • This brought me back to the days I ran a BBS using wildcat! Ever heard of it . I rana bbs for 3 years when a 2nd phone line only cost 12bucks Man those were the days.

I was in the NAVY at the time on submarines for 7 years then got out full honorable discharge. I was a IC2 (SS) E5

  • @OBSysteme

To use your C64 modem you need a dial up BBS - like the Tornado BBS in Hamburg - have a look at my dial up 300 baud C64 clip.

    Jamming Signal ist telnet only

  • When I started BBSing with my 1660 modem in 1986, I called manually, waited for the signal, hit connect and then manually hung up the phone. I probably lost some hearing doing that, :) I think I started with Darkterm.

  • Wierd watching you put in an IP addy after the ATDT command! Amazing, its been at least sixteen years (?!) since ive had to type that in a terminal but I remembered the command right away. I would like to see an xmodem download using the full speed of a typical broadband connection!

  • @GreatLakesDrifta

was weird for me too with the ATDT + IP - but it worked :)

  • I used to love playing Jump Man on my C64--of course that was back in the early 80's!! Can it be??

  • This video gives the false impression that the commodore could multitask Online and music at the same time. In reality it was a silent process

    .

  • @harleykman

Yes it was - but this is a Vice-Emu-Session running XP. I hope this video gives also not the false impression that you can run WinXp on a C64 ;)

BTW: Using interrupts it might be not impossible to get music during a BBS-Session. Has anyone tried?

  • @quipzz It wouldn't be impossible at all. You just need a client program that was written in such a way that it would play SIDs

  • @jazzpsalti

Ok, perhaps I got such a prg on my old disks...

  • Good Old Times ^^

  • Fantastisch!

  • ooh boy...i am 43 now but i just thought i was 20. holy crap, it feels like yesterday :-)

  • @rockangel1967 you are a fail

  • @viciousvex

    Thanks! :)

The second tune is "Telefax" by Torben Hansen

The first tune is "The Telepone Call" by Per Almered, btw

    (Kraftwerk cover of course)

I have both songs on my C64-Story-Pages as background tunes in

the bbs section btw (don't forget to enable java) - you find the link on

    this youtube page

  • Nice Video and yes, what a great Soundmachine the c64 was... awesome!

  • Does anybody know the name of this second tune in the video? I really like it!

    Very nice demonstration BTW!

  • @viciousvex ask daison2002 (look@myCHN) & greet him from me!

  • MY BLADDER WON'T CLOSE!!

  • Awesome, awesome video. My first C64 modem was a 300 baud Vicmodem.
