petas real goals are to ban completely any and all pet ownership of any kind, total ban any or all farming any kind, and to release all pets and farm animals into wild immediately and to ban all forms fishing any kind and all hunting any kind. cannot obtain these insane goals honestly so lie in every breathe and image like in all peta productions such as earthlings every image a deception every word a lie like leather for example lol not 1 xow been killed for leather all is biproduct of beef
#4 so thats the real truth that peta puppet liars like this poster will never tell you . this woman is not just another decieved idiot too dumb too know truth, she knows better, she knows is lying in every sentance, doesnt care like all peta puppet psychos is totally ok with lying and deceiving anyone too dumb too know any better as long as acheive insane goals of stealing our birthrights to hunt fish and eat meat they dont care how manipulative deceitfull or dishionest they are. period.
@fishncapt26 My god, have you been doing this for 24 hours? What a waste of good coke, bro! Go out and party it off, and then stop snorting it, it is a big lie <-- thought you'd appreciate that last "line" ;)
@fathomlessliesandinsanityandobnoxiouspetanazipropaganda- she and all you peta sickos care about nothing but stealing through lies and deception the birthright of every human to eat meat own pets and fish and hunt. and cannot obtain there insane peta goals through honest means so lie to obtain them as peta says in its justification of human murders- " its ok for us to use any means necessary to obtain our goals" and not picking on just this liar but anywhere peta puppets spew lies? we'll bethere
#2- not 1 cow been killed for leather leather in surplus is biproduct of beef food industrys and would be sinful waste not to use it and discard it, then theyd use the waste of hydes as another tactic to ban beef. or they use 1 in 5 million freak instances like cow being punched or dropped from crane things that never happen and lie say its what happens every farm every day every cow lol or use decades old footage abolished practises that dont exist say whats happening every farm every day lol
#5 so thats what they do lie in every breathe and image just like earthlings for example and all peta p-roductions, they lie lie lie lie hoping to deceive as many who too dumb young or inexperienced to know better, lie lie lie till caught, then when caught they try ban block anyone telling truth or threaten or atack them. our own govt & law enforcement cannot remove my/our rights to speak and expose lies but yet every peta puppet online does it any way. lie till caught& block any1 exposing lies
so anywhere these mentally ill pathological liar peta cunts spread their lies and deceit there will be some of us willing to lay down lives to reveal truth and expose the lies and combat lies with truth dellusions with facts deception with reality and lunacy with sanity. and noone has done more harm to marine and wildlife then peta puppet animal rights groups thats a fact and can prove it to anyone wants the proof- theyve gone way too far and messed up with the assault campaign on you tube
cause now everyone gets see the lies deception they telling our kids and teens and young women and everyone brainless enough or inexperienced enough to know better. now with their all out assault on you tube theyve exposed themsalves as the liars and psychos they are and they think they gettiong somewhere when in truth their screwing selves and very soon the world going take stand and bust these liar peta groups up and the terror laws etc have paved way and they #1 terror threat in usa anyway
@fishncapt26 I eat meat, own fur, and own pets. But dude, you're over-board. Fun facts: most leather is bred from cows TO be leather, it is NOT a bi-product of our meat industry (dumb, I know). Male chicks still get killed like seen in the video. We take milk from calves because we like it so much that we've evolved past the lactose-intolerance all animals develop with age (some of us haven't though). And meat/fur is the result of killing animals. Wrong or right? Your choice.
dear god i hate this 100% liar crazy dishonest dellusional cunt and all peta psychos- if you are dumb enough to buy 1 word out of this psychos liar mouth or any word or image from single peta production you are frighteningly stupid- earthlings and all peta productions are 100% lies and deception and i can literally prove every image every word is 100% lie- and this cunts passive agressive lies are rediculous- trys say im not peta or millitant but is exactly that- BEWARE 100% lies peta propaganda
@fishncapt26 Funny thing is, vegans care about you even if you do not care about yourself. Why have you picked @porolita22 as the target for your childish rants anyway?
#3 other tactics of pure lies deception like deleting editing out the split second kill moves shots or cuts etc and lie say its alive when skinned or cut up lol lol for 2-6 or more hrs after clinical death body still moves legs kick eyes mouth move, ive had decapitated pigs deer elk in bed of truck do this 4-6 hrs after decapitation. only idiots buy these lies and every word is lies like in earthlings and all peta films they cant obtain insane goals honestly so lie in every breathe and image
I also a grow veg , yea i said veg i love veg , but plants are alive and you kill them when you harvest and also kill the soil , We live for mill of yrs and we ate animals and etc but dont mean im a monster nor you or anyone else , peace and love
I eat eggs from my farm. these chickens are free range and super happy. they live out their lives on our 26 acres and only die of natural causes in about two years. they eat seeds, bug and other things they can find during the summer aand wheat and corn in the winter. they lay the eggs and leave them there. they only will set once a year and all the other eggs rot where they sit. I am really just wondering if you think it is wrong to eat the eggs that are left.
@tubamidget92 Even if all your rationalizations and justifications for animal exploitation were real, you are still eating chicken menstruations. It is sick on its face. Plus 1 egg has the maximum daily limit of LDL. Thus if you eat 1 egg and ANY other food source that has eggs per day, you exeed your max limit of LDL. Look at it really closely, the whole picture, the resulting intelligence from careful, unbiased observation will take action.
souuhhhh people that eat meat are disgusting and miserable thats a wonderful statement :D it just proves how you are doing all this just to be able to tell other people and feel better than them but youre not because you call people whatever you want....
and if u wanna argue my previous comment that the eggs ARE fertilized check this. when you crack an egg, do u see an embryo? no. there IS NO embryo, just yolk. and another note. cows often give birth to still borns. these cows are milked completely. cows that DO have calfs r not completely milked. many farms will have a few cows that feed all the calfs, the mothers r milked and adopted mothers r not. cows also produce more milk than the calf needs and months past the age they stop drinking milk
here are some problems with that: eggs sold in stores are not fertilized and therefore would never grow to hatch. and milking cows DOES help them because when they do not have a calf to feed and they're producing milk, the milk needs to be removed or else they can actually have their udders become so full they actually will start to burst. take high school biology guys, it's all there. ecucate yourself about the facts before calling other people out
I've never watched/read Magic Schoolbus. I think it depends on the school, the teacher, and in some cases, the curriculum. My high school happens to be kind of.. bad, but I do learn things, if not about cows/chickens. I learned absolutely nothing in elementary school and middle school.. I'm not even sure why I tried. Lol.
I pour almond milk in my cereal and the difference is so slight, I don't even notice when I eat. It's expensive though and hard to budget. I'd probably end up too skinny and starving if I tried to afford it on a daily basis (lol). I'm not vegetarian or vegan or a crazed meat eater, just health conscious. There are meats and vegan products I don't need to eat to maintain a healthy body.
I don't get the dairy argument. Yes, they keep the cows pregnant often, but it's not like they just toss the calves into the garbage. Veal comes from those.
And no, I don't feel bad for them. They exist for the sole purpose of being eaten. If we weren't going to eat them, they would never have come into existence.
@brianv00 Killing something for no reason is not "better off." It's wasteful and pointless, more stupid than egotistical hunters who go out and shoot a big elk just to stuff and mount the head. If you're going to spend the resources, you shouldn't waste it, especially when wasting it results in the animal being just as dead.
I've yet to meet a hardcore vegan who didn't carry around a portable soapbox everywhere. People don't like being preached at, and moralfags wonder why people hate them.
i liked the video...very informative, and not in your face, as you said. i've wanted to be vegan for a while, but it's really hard to go anywhere that doesn't at least use animal bi-products in their food. so i find myself spending a lot of time in cooking. also, i agree that peoples' attitudes need to change before they go pointing fingers. And i know you're specifying organic in the sense of animal bi-products, but i would always advocate organic in all other forms( produce, grains etc.).
I don't see what the difference between a cow breastfeeding and pumping is between a human breastfeeding and using a breast pump. I prefer the breast pump.As far as the chickens go, death is death. It will happen to us all. I HOPE that it would be as human as possible.I believe in quality over quanity in life.
I keep chickens for meat and eggs, and think its a wonderful thing. They live almost entirely on wild forage. Im getting free, and green protein right outside my door. I'm not shipping food that requires chemical fertilizers, from states away that burn up fossil fuels. and they eat up all the ticks so I dont have to use pesticides. Before I kill them I pet them for a while then quickly break there neck. There's no stress or pain. Its a matter of how yo do things.
Lemme pick your brains... How is eating eggs cruel? Hens laying eggs is a natural process... The eggs we eat are unfertalized, so no loss of life takes place. If the hens are well taken care of (free range and organic) than everyone benefits from the ordeal. It's not USING so much as an exchange. Farmers provide a good life where hens are well fed, and hens repay this kindness with eggs... win win right?
@chimmychainsaw Just to clarify, isin't 2-4 years of a good life followed by a quick and painless death better than non-existence? As for the treatment of rousters, well that not very humane, I must admit, but I'm sure there are hormone therapies (birthing hormones aren't poison) than can ensure that only females are produced...
To be honest I could never be vegan. I respect animals but I don't think they are equal and should be treated like people. that & bacon is bloody delicious! Thanks!
@chimmychainsaw Have you seen a chicken farm before? Not all are ever so pleasant. search'' kfc chicken undercover'' and you'll see what I mean. (not agreeing with the video poster, I am not vegan) but you'll see that some people just don't give a damn about animals.
@Poptart956801 he did, but he didn't give a damn. He blamed vegans for killing cows... It's called denial. I do believe when he connects the dots he will be vegan, he cares, he just doesn't care enough. I don't know man... eggs and dairy produts are disgusting and their production methods abhorrent.
@Nevanator7 bees produce far more honey than they use. You leave enough for them to winter on and you use the surplus. Its a very hard thing to be a bee-keeper. A lot of science goes into it. You dont just go and raid the boxes.
I appreciate the information in this video, and I will say it makes me wish I could not eat meat. See, I literally have to. I listen to people preaching about how awesome vegetables (Veganism/vegetarianism) is but there are people who literally will die if we eat them. I am far from alone there. So I eat a lot of meat. I also advocate for animal rights, because I want the animals to be healthy, happy, and at least live well before I eat them. I cannot afford to die so the animals may live.
Onision, as far as I've seen, has always been a douche. If anyone is going to stop eating meat, then they should also avoid animal-based products (milk, eggs, etc). Personally, I enjoy chicken, and the occasional steak and ham (very rarely, but not for any moral qualms), but if someone is going to be a vegetarian, and complain about animal abuse, then support using animal-based products, then they're a hypocrite.
Good video, though. It seems that while we eat differently, we agree in general.
awesome video, i like how you showed examples instead of just talking the entire time, it made it much more interesting. You opened my eyes as well, i didnt know so many male chicks were slaughterd and cows had to stay pregnant.
hmmm... thanksto u ive now completly changed... my world is almost now completly beutifull i can only ask that u do something for me.... and tell me more and show more of your beutifull face and voice and teeth and hair and eyes
I believe human are created as omnivores. let us have the rights to choose what we want to eat. however , i strictly suggest the practice of humane animal treatment even though in the end these animals are going to be slaughtered , but I oppose the way turn vegan promotional video way of treating animals .
However , when it comes to beauty, i support vegetarian products not vegan.because make ups are luxury things , not necessity like food .
You're more likely to win people over if you use honey instead of vinegar...you get more flies with honey than you do with vinegar, as the old saying goes.
Would you choose "organic" vegetables over "non-organic"?
Seems to me that a vegan, who is vegan for animal rights issues, would prefer non-organic vegetables.
The reason: Non-organic vegetable fields are largely fertilized with chemically derived fertilizers; whereas, organic fields have to be fertilized with organic material - which is usually manure obtained from factory farms.
Organic vegetable farming promotes the suffering of animals on factory farms.
@Afod3 I choose organic. Using manure is natural. Organic veggies don't have any pesticides, and nothing else artificial. But often times even organic veggies, especially from local farmers, aren't fertilized with manure, and many farmers use no fertilizer. But I grow my own veggies as much as possible, or get them from health food stores.
@Afod3 The problem isn't between organic and non-org.
If your reason is health: You would choose organic because of the lack of spray and pesticide.
If your reason is environment: You would choose sustainable farming. Waste from factory farming very rarely gets reintroduced into the system, certified organic would not be able to use waste that is high in growth hormones.. Sustainable food systems that include animals don't have enough to profit off them, they profit off the vegetable produce.
im vegetarian, and ive wanted to go vegan for a while now, ive told my parents about this. but they just say no, and its stupid. (they eat meat, im the only vegetarian in my family)
what do you think is the best way? - i already consume some vegan foods, which ARE TASTY!
well in some ways u make a good point but in others not so much cuz going vegan can actually harm your health more than making it healthy i'm a vegetarian myself and we are helping animals and care about them just as much as any vegan would
@shannon3ify Going vegetarian can also be harmful if you aren't consuming the right nutrients. You don't really digest dairy. That gets stored as fat in the body. I know one gal who got quite sick as a vegetarian. She'd eat cheese and such, but didn't eat the right veggies for protein and iron. I went vegan, and I'm much healthier than what I was. But I'm also eating the right veggies.
well in some ways u make a good point but in others not so much cuz going vegan can actually harm your health more than making it healthy i'm a vegetarian myself and you are helping animals and care about them just as much as any vegan would
What about being both vegan and organic? Organically grown vegetables, fruit, and other produce are proven to be much better for the environment. Anything that iis better for the environment is better for both the welfare of humans and other animals.
If we didn't need meat why do we have appendixes? the appendix is used to help digest raw meat, but seeing as how humans rarely eat raw meat anymore our appendixes have stopped functioning properly.
let me start by saying that I am on your side. i believe very strongly in animal rights, and I would much sooner be vegan than eat factory-farmed meat. however, I have chosen to eat organic, pasture-raised meat from farms that I visit myself to buy from. my question is: don't you think it is better for an animal to live a pleasant, peaceful life and then be killed rather than not live at all? wouldn't the net happiness for the animal be greater? after all, every life must end in death.
@maximum411 Ask yourself that same question: Would you rather live as a slave, die a painful death or not have existed at all? I would rather not exist, since that would give me no pain or misery... I would just not be. People think that the animals' lives are worth only because or what people take from them, and that is very sad. No matter where or how the animals live, if their only purpose is to die for things we make from them, it's really unfair and speciesist.
@maximum411 you must be talking about the farms you read about in chldren's books.., not the ones that actually exist. The way we use animals as commodities is really awful. Even in small family operations, animals do not "amble around green fields with family and friends" and I tell you this because I have relatives who raise cattle, pigs and have friends whose parents have small dairy backyard operations, there is no such thing as "humane" animal exploitation :(
No, actually, I understand very well what goes on on factory farms which is why I do not eat any animal products that come from factory farms. I have actually BEEN to the farms where I buy my meat, however, and I go there every time I buy meat. The cows and chickens do in fact amble around green fields year round and I have seen them do so. These are not CAFOs, and not every operation is the same. Google them: they are called Green Ledge Farm and Yellow House Farm.
I wouldn't bother looking them up. I will not support a non-vegan industry or business with my wallet.
I'm glad that you are at least trying to take some steps towards more humane treatment towards animals since it is better than doing nothing or denying that they are treated badly.
However, do not expect me to accept your choice to still eat meat. I highly encourage you to look into animals rights and abolitionist theory, and ultimately to try veganism.
I actually just read Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, which was basically the spark that started the animal rights movement. He actually says in his book that he would approve of eating animals that were raised humanely- he is just against causing suffering to the point where the animal's life is more bad than good, which is basically my philosophy.
And I didn't expect you to start going to these farms- I just wanted you to see that not all animal farms are evil.
Peter Singer actually said that being omnivores isn't the problem, it is animal husbandry that is the problem. He never said it should be "raised humanely". You're thinking the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma".
But I digress. Humans have practiced animals husbandry as an innate part of animal consumption in a civilization for centuries. We will never go back to the hunter/gatherer days. ALL forms of raising animals for food are inhumane because it makes them our property, slaves.
Right, he said that being omnivores isn't a problem, meaning raising animals for food isn't a problem. He may not have said the exact words "raised humanely," but he said something to that effect. And I have read the Omnivore's Dilemma, but I am definitely talking about what I read in Animal Liberation.
See, here is the problem. Humans think that being an omnivore automatically means animal husbandry because we think no other way in a civilization that must provide animal sources to everyone if they are to be used. A beaver is an omnivore, but doesn't raise meat. The beaver hunts (or, fishes).
Being an omnivore being OK does not = raising meat and dairy is OK
The point is, Peter Singer never explicitely condoned animal husbandry. He promoted veganism.
"if we could change the mainstream from eating factory farmed products to eating only free-range, pasture raised animal products, that would be a huge and positive change."
and
"I think as long as the standards really are compassionate ones, that do as much as they can to give the animals decent lives before they’re killed, I don’t have a problem with it."
But owning a cat is also keeping it as your property- it never chose to be your pet. And there's nothing wrong with that- having children is also in a sense slavery. Children never choose to come under our care, they must do what we say, and they do not have the choice to leave. Raising animals is not much different. Not all control is bad- some organisms need care. As a matter of fact, many domestic animals have undergone "neoteny," meaning they retain juvenile traits throughout adulthood.
I don't own my cat, I adopted my cat. Caring for my cat is NOTHING like predestining her to be my meal and using her for my own benefit. I am her welfare program, not her parasite.
I have resolved to emancipate my children as soon as they are old enough, to fight for lowering the age of emancipation, and for working for the rights of children to be aided in their endeavor for education, welfare, and a home.
Besides, I can't give birth to a cow. It is not obligted to me.
You still own your cat, whether you adopted her or bought her.
You have control over how she lives, and she will be under your care when she dies, just like a cow or chicken. The only difference is that old age will cause her death rather than you. If you were to keep another human being under the conditions we keep cats in, it would be an easy form of slavery but it would still be slavery.
No, I do not own my cat. I do not use her for my own convenience or pleasure, and she is my family.
I use the word adopt because it is an adoption, not a license of ownership. I have refused to register her that way with my own state laws that require that I do (and I am dealing with some heat over it).
Tell me, do you think there is a difference between owning a person as a slave and adopting a child so that this powerless being has someone to care for them? That is what I see.
I have another question. Are you alright with eggs or milk from animals kept as pets? I have four pet chickens which I hold, let outside every day, feed organic food, and care very much for (and they will live out their natural life spans). Would you be OK with that? It would be like if your cat just happened to lay eggs.
Having children is not slavery, it is a natural outgrowth of reproduction and the mother is equally bound to the child to provide for him/her with her body. The way a person chooses to teach their child to grow up may be in ways that are oppressive (which is just as wrong as actual slavery), but being a parent does not automatically make you a slave holder. Raising animals predestined to die so that we can exploit them is VERY different from having children and animal companions.
@maximum411 i believe the same thing . raise farm animals humanely , even though in the end , they will be slaughtered , but they should be treated nicely . not like the video shows
And thanks for seeing that I am doing what I think is right.
Again, I have absolutely nothing against veganism- it is a kind and conscientious way of life.
I just think that raising animals humanely for meat is morally defensible. All animals will enjoy life when their needs are fulfilled, even when it ends in death, as all lives must.
It's funny that I was arguing with a vegan, whose views align much more closely with mine than someone who would eat factory farmed meat.
I do not think that "humanely raising meat" is morally defensible. It is still animal slavery (again, I kindly urge you to look into the abolitionist view).
I do, however, think that at least "humanly raised" meat is about making better conditions for animals to a small degree. As I have said, I would support legislation that meant any improvement for animals, along my road to what I hope will be eventual abolition of all animal exploitation.
@porolita22 im vegan, just saying. but he did tell you he himself visited them. I do believe that it isnt impossible for cruelty free farms to exist. if he is not willing to stop eating meat, at least he is willing to go through the trouble of making sure the things he buys are as cruelty free as possible. now is he more suseptible to colon cancer and heart disease? yep, yes he is.
@porolita22 - actually it's not just from 'childrens books' - In many other countries besides the US (Australia being one) beef and dairy cows are free to roam in acres and acres of grassy paddocks with their fellow friends, with access to shade, fresh water and even extra food like hay/straw. You can see this with your own eyes driving along the long stretch of roads here in Victoria and NSW.
i find it funny how onision in a hardcore atheist and a vegan..yes, humans are made to be herbavores, but i guess in the Bible it says that after the flood and noa and stuff, God let us eat meat...its weird because we are made to eat vegetables....more proof God exists i suppose....if evolution was our entire ancestory why would we eat meat at all?...i dont know..dont bombard me with anti-God comments please..im just saying something interesting.
@TheSaintAza Either they will be ground up alive to make cheap pet food or other animal feed, or they will be discarded in plastic bags and left to suffocate :( it is the disgusting truth of egg laying industries.
Meat is cheap, the economy will collapse at the rate we are going, the masses that make barely enough to keep a roof over their heads are gonna focus on keeping fed and staying alive. Supply and demand. Meat eating is here to stay, I do predict that veganism will continue to grow trendy with the wealthy and the elite. That's how I see it, OMG BLASPHEMY!
I am currently transitioning into vegetarianism (with my goal as a vegan) and i really want to, i've been considering it for awhile but my family (i still live at home for the next 6months) will not let me, literally! I now only still eat chicken (not even dairy), i was thinking about using the next few months to add things into my diet (not a diverse eater currently) so that when i move off its easier. I am having a tough time about feeling like a hypocrite.
or we could let our livers fail or die of b12 deficiency, humans didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat LIVING plants. vegans and vegetarians are hypocrites. they say meat-eaters are murderers and what not but what about the plants that are living organisms? besides, if we didn't eat certain animals they would overpopulate and die of starvation. Life is a paradox.
Also, plants don't feel pain and are not slaughtered.
Yes they are living, but animals feel pain, eat, sleep ect. Plants only eat and breath and drink. there is a difference. "Living" is not the same for every living thing.
know what's interesting? B12 is always cited as an essential nutrient that proves that we need meat, but it turns out that B12 isn't even a part of the meat itself. B12 is a byproduct of bacteria that grows on meat after it has been killed. B12 can be found wherever such bacteria thrives, including pond water and dirt. People used to get their necessary B12 from dirty vegetables and natural water, but in today's sterile environment meat is the only food dirty enough to contain B12
Since I stopped regularly eating dairy I haven't caught a single cold. It's been years since I've been sick! Weird eh? I think cows milk is worse for us than moderate alcohol and smoking.
Illustrating a calf with a gunshot sound is very misleading, I think. Calves are not (at least not in common practice) killed after birth to get the milk from the cow. They are taken away after a day or two and raised with other calves. It's not the best situation for the calf, but it's very much different than killing them as you claim.
Now, if you want a cruelty issue where it IS likely the "byproduct" animal will be killed, research the production of Premarin.
I swear every vegetarian and vegan is stupid, every single one. "animals are equal to us" bullshit, "we dont need milk we are grown up" we drink it for pleasure, "that chicken has a life" really jumping around and laying eggs, oh wow, what a life. Do I look like I care? Lions dont give a shit about their prey, neither should we.
@DoomExtreme1 your totally trolling man if you want to eat meat its ok but being a vegetarian is ok too we not stupid we just think a different way then you
Why do you discriminate between killing an animal and killing a plant? Entire ecosystems were annihilated just so we could farm some vegetables, think about that. At least some of the wild animals probably made it out alive. Just because plants are from a biological kingdom less related to us means it's ok to kill them? Is it the way the animals come to meet their death? How do you think most animals die out in the wild? They are mauled to death or they starve or are afflicted with some disease.
@tobitobide plants had to die or be mutilated in order to be eaten too. Just because there aren't blood and guts doesn't mean they don't feel pain on some level either. Everything dies, all living things can be hurt. I don't see your point.
@tobitobide plants are not alive lmao, what quack biology course did you take? Plants have movement they just don't have locomotion. Some plants react instantly to the touch like the mimosa plant. Some plants are even carnivores (venus fly traps). You have no idea what you are talking about. Plants roots seek out water underground, but they don't have a will? Well thats a topic for another discussion but that certainly isn't biology.
@tobitobide Thats totally your opinion and it has nothing to do with the facts. I am as much a living being as a tree is. We are both alive and are composed of living cells that replicate and die.
@tobitobide We only refer to ourselves as 'beings'. I have only ever heard of a human being. Have you ever heard of an elephant being? An ant being? No. From wiki: "In abstract usage, "the being" or "one's being" is the mind's concept of the self as a whole entity —including both mind and body —wherein the being is in the mind, and the "body" is all sensory aspects within the being." Do you really think animals distinguish between mind and body? Are they capable of conceiving a self like we do?
one of the most reasonable vegans on youtube, not screaming about it, not discouraging anyone. just plain and simple. i agree. its a slow process from vegetarian to vegan and i hope i will get there one day. just wished companies where more honest about the food were consuming (did not know that about happy eggs 0_0'). were all as bad as each other in the end of the day! =D
onision? in one of his vids he basically said body modification is just as dangerous as smoking n cancer! *face palm lol
Oh noes! nuance, research, honesty and a resistance to fascist sloganeering? How could you? Onision walks on clouds and farts rainbows! Don't you know? lol.
no no no no no no no! Stop your vegian BS. Guess what!? Pay attention to evolution. MEAT PROTEINS ARE WHAT MADE OUR BRAINS WHAT THEY ARE! It's proven, it's a fact, get over it.
I dont eat eggs they taste like torture. I eat meat because cows are dumb and chickens taste like beef. And turkeys look like chickens. I do not eat sea food. It is gross. I Loled when you played the gun shot at the baby cow.
I think I'm in love. A woman with intelligence and strong conviction on this issue. Hmm! I'm lactose intolerant and I try to eat organic as much as possible because of information that I was given. I don't think going organic is bad, you're just pointing out the inconsistencies but point taken.
Right now I think egg and dairy trade are only wrong bcoz they still involve killing, and causing great suffering to animals and violating their rights in other ways but I think eggs and milk can be obtained without doing this and I would advocate this as I think it can be part of a soltion where we can continue to care for these animals without harming them. Most of the time chickens and cows really dont mind when u take their eggs and milk respectfully & they still need to be in the care of us
Ppl who opposed slavery, racism, nazi antisemitism and so fort had to engage in 'militant' activities far more aggresive than anything these vege-militants do. Was what they did so wrong, and if not how is it any different to what so very hostile vege's do now. Its the same situation they are opposing only now the victoms arent human, but that makes no difference to u. I dont like militantism either and I dont voice my beliefs in this area but thats bcoz Im selfish
This ist the most stupid video i viewed on YouTube (about organig food) ;)) you have same thinking problem:)) same hole in your brain:)) LOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!
Hm. I went vegetarian three months ago, and ovo-vegetarian one week ago. Here's the problem... My parents think i have an eating disorder, even though i eat like hell.... I would prefer a vegan lifestyle, but for some reason they won't let me go all veg. They are already very, very, very sceptical against me not eating dairy, and they are nagging about it every single day. I weighed 55 kilos before, and now i weigh 42, and I'm 174 cm, so I understand them to a point. Oh, and I'm 13 years old! :)
I didn't hear Onision say anything about eggs in "We moo you murder", maybe he changed the contents or I just didn't get it.
Still in his latest video he makes clear he is not vegan (which I had assumend before, watching only some of his videos). It strikes me how someone can be so clear about meat and so blind about dairy and eggs. It wouldn't matter to me if it wasn't for the big audience he has. *sigh*
This response of yours was excellent though! Thumbs up!
They either turn the calf into veal or it is feed some kind of fake milk if not enough milk. They might of breed the cows to produce more milk than the calf can consume. Eating eggs is eating undeveloped chickens. If Onision is promoting vegetarianism then he wouldn't want you to eat eggs or drink milk. If everyone was to go vegetarian it would probably be gradual just as outlawing alcohol didn't work had it been done gradually would it have worked, don't know but a better chance it might have.
@hydrolito All the milk breeds (as opposed to meat breeds) have been selectively bred (over centuries) to produce more milk than calves need. But still- the calves are an unwanted by product. The dairy farmer has no need for male calves, and only a percentage of the female calves. EVERYTHING else ends up as meat.
As far as eggs go, hens don't have to breed to lay an egg. All of the eggs you buy are sterile, unfertilized eggs. (Fertile eggs have a blood drop-too gross to sell.)
Thank you for those videos, porolita. I'm going through the process of switching to vegetarianism and just eating free-range eggs but after seeing the chick video, you made some good points. I wonder if there is a good egg-substitute. If I can go entirely Vegan, that would be a good thing.
You will never stay Vegan if you approach it as a diet. You must understand that Veganism is about being in tune with nature and all sentient beings, not about what tastes better. Humans consume animals simply because of gluttony. Replacing one food with another of similar taste is only a superficial solution to your problem. You must understand that animals feel pain and die for your unnecessary and unnatural cravings. When you get this, you will make a smooth transition into Veganism.
my question is what happens to the millions of animals already in the intensive farming industry if everybody goes vegan? where do they go? what do they eat? who takes care of them? i'm not saying let's continue with current systems of cruelty.. but this is a question that is very hard to answer don't you think? do we kill them all? let them starve to death? we can't set them free because they are not wild animals and there is nowhere for them to go. so what do we do?
@picobravo30 It is a hypothetical question which doesn't really need to be answered. The whole world is not going to go vegan at once. How would that happen? By art of magic? It is a process. Intensive farming will not diminish or end until the demand goes away. Less demand, less breeding, less killing. Till no more animals are bred for these purposes. That makes more sense :)
first let me say i do not wish to disrespect your choice to b vegan.. i was vegan for many years and a raw foodist for two years.. so i respect your decision hermana, i really do.. but in the interest of healthy dialogue between a vegan (yourself) and an omnivore that raises and kills animals (myself) i implore you to not brush the question off so quickly as hypothetical or answer it without thinking deeply about it..
@picobravo30 But I truly believe it is a hypothetical question. I don't see a way in which the whole world would go vegan instantly. How would that happen? It can't. I meant no disrespect, I am being completely honest. I think we have a responsibility to the animals we have brought into existence, to care for them and not to breed them. Same goes for dogs and cats, as any other domesticated animal.
@picobravo30 I've thought about this before myself. I agree with porolita that this will be a gradual change so we won't have to deal with a bunch of animals all at once. Some animal products will go to waste in the process, although this happens already. They get thrown out when they pass the date. I have a friend who works at a grocery store so I know that this happens.
Dairy is not only immoral, it's really unhealthy and disgusting as well.

I am really just wondering if you think it is wrong to eat the eggs that are left.
tubamidget92 5 months ago
@tubamidget92 Even if all your rationalizations and justifications for animal exploitation were real, you are still eating chicken menstruations. It is sick on its face. Plus 1 egg has the maximum daily limit of LDL. Thus if you eat 1 egg and ANY other food source that has eggs per day, you exeed your max limit of LDL. Look at it really closely, the whole picture, the resulting intelligence from careful, unbiased observation will take action.

and if u wanna argue my previous comment that the eggs ARE fertilized check this. when you crack an egg, do u see an embryo? no. there IS NO embryo, just yolk. and another note. cows often give birth to still borns. these cows are milked completely. cows that DO have calfs r not completely milked. many farms will have a few cows that feed all the calfs, the mothers r milked and adopted mothers r not. cows also produce more milk than the calf needs and months past the age they stop drinking milk
insane247 6 months ago
here are some problems with that: eggs sold in stores are not fertilized and therefore would never grow to hatch. and milking cows DOES help them because when they do not have a calf to feed and they're producing milk, the milk needs to be removed or else they can actually have their udders become so full they actually will start to burst. take high school biology guys, it's all there. ecucate yourself about the facts before calling other people out

I've never watched/read Magic Schoolbus. I think it depends on the school, the teacher, and in some cases, the curriculum. Lol.
deatXbyXchocolate335 5 months ago
I pour almond milk in my cereal and the difference is so slight, I don't even notice when I eat. It's expensive though and hard to budget. I'd probably end up too skinny and starving if I tried to afford it on a daily basis (lol). I'm not vegetarian or vegan or a crazed meat eater, just health conscious. There are meats and vegan products I don't need to eat to maintain a healthy body.
RickiSanchez 6 months ago
I don't get the dairy argument. Yes, they keep the cows pregnant often, but it's not like they just toss the calves into the garbage. Veal comes from those.
And no, I don't feel bad for them. They exist for the sole purpose of being eaten. If we weren't going to eat them, they would never have come into existence.
syn010110 6 months ago
@syn010110 Veal is possibly the worst of the meat industry's practices. They'd be better off being shot straight away.
brianv00 6 months ago
@brianv00 I fail to see how it is "better off" to waste them by shooting them and throwing away the carcass.
syn010110 6 months ago
@syn010110 Notice how I said THEY'D be better off, not people who eat veal. If you disagree, do some research into veal farming.
brianv00 6 months ago
@brianv00 Killing something for no reason is not "better off." It's wasteful and pointless, more stupid than egotistical hunters who go out and shoot a big elk just to stuff and mount the head. If you're going to spend the resources, you shouldn't waste it, especially when wasting it results in the animal being just as dead.
I've yet to meet a hardcore vegan who didn't carry around a portable soapbox everywhere. People don't like being preached at, and moralfags wonder why people hate them.
syn010110 6 months ago

i liked the video...very informative, and not in your face, as you said. i've wanted to be vegan for a while, but it's really hard to go anywhere that doesn't at least use animal bi-products in their food. so i find myself spending a lot of time in cooking. also, i agree that peoples' attitudes need to change before they go pointing fingers. And i know you're specifying organic in the sense of animal bi-products, but i would always advocate organic in all other forms( produce, grains etc.).

Its a matter of how yo do things.
fishtankbank 8 months ago
Lemme pick your brains... How is eating eggs cruel? Hens laying eggs is a natural process... The eggs we eat are unfertalized, so no loss of life takes place. If the hens are well taken care of (free range and organic) than everyone benefits from the ordeal. It's not USING so much as an exchange. Farmers provide a good life where hens are well fed, and hens repay this kindness with eggs... win win right?
Vegans please reply, I'm curious as to this...
chimmychainsaw 8 months ago
@chimmychainsaw Just to clarify, isin't 2-4 years of a good life followed by a quick and painless death better than non-existence? As for the treatment of rousters, well that not very humane, I must admit, but I'm sure there are hormone therapies (birthing hormones aren't poison) than can ensure that only females are produced...
To be honest I could never be vegan. I respect animals but I don't think they are equal and should be treated like people. that & bacon is bloody delicious! Thanks!

I cannot afford to die so the animals may live.

dickyfartz666 9 months ago
Onision, as far as I've seen, has always been a douche. If anyone is going to stop eating meat, then they should also avoid animal-based products (milk, eggs, etc). Personally, I enjoy chicken, and the occasional steak and ham (very rarely, but not for any moral qualms), but if someone is going to be a vegetarian, and complain about animal abuse, then support using animal-based products, then they're a hypocrite.
Good video, though. It seems that while we eat differently, we agree in general.

Afod3 1 year ago
@Afod3 I choose organic. Using manure is natural. Organic veggies don't have any pesticides, and nothing else artificial. But often times even organic veggies, especially from local farmers, aren't fertilized with manure, and many farmers use no fertilizer. But I grow my own veggies as much as possible, or get them from health food stores.
godsfiddler 1 year ago
@Afod3 The problem isn't between organic and non-org.
If your reason is health: You would choose organic because of the lack of spray and pesticide.
If your reason is environment: You would choose sustainable farming. Waste from factory farming very rarely gets reintroduced into the system, certified organic would not be able to use waste that is high in growth hormones.. Sustainable food systems that include animals don't have enough to profit off them, they profit off the vegetable produce.

shannon3ify 1 year ago
@shannon3ify Going vegetarian can also be harmful if you aren't consuming the right nutrients. You don't really digest dairy. That gets stored as fat in the body. I know one gal who got quite sick as a vegetarian. She'd eat cheese and such, but didn't eat the right veggies for protein and iron. I went vegan, and I'm much healthier than what I was. But I'm also eating the right veggies.

If we didn't need meat why do we have appendixes? the appendix is used to help digest raw meat, but seeing as how humans rarely eat raw meat anymore our appendixes have stopped functioning properly.
foxknight19 1 year ago
let me start by saying that I am on your side. i believe very strongly in animal rights, and I would much sooner be vegan than eat factory-farmed meat. however, I have chosen to eat organic, pasture-raised meat from farms that I visit myself to buy from. my question is: don't you think it is better for an animal to live a pleasant, peaceful life and then be killed rather than not live at all? wouldn't the net happiness for the animal be greater? after all, every life must end in death.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411 Ask yourself that same question: Would you rather live as a slave, die a painful death or not have existed at all? I would rather not exist, since that would give me no pain or misery... I would just not be. People think that the animals' lives are worth only because or what people take from them, and that is very sad. No matter where or how the animals live, if their only purpose is to die for things we make from them, it's really unfair and speciesist.
porolita22 1 year ago
@porolita22
If being a "slave" entailed ambling around a green field all day with my family and friends, then yes I would choose that life over nothing at all.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411 you must be talking about the farms you read about in chldren's books.., not the ones that actually exist. The way we use animals as commodities is really awful. Even in small family operations, animals do not "amble around green fields with family and friends" and I tell you this because I have relatives who raise cattle, pigs and have friends whose parents have small dairy backyard operations, there is no such thing as "humane" animal exploitation :(
porolita22 1 year ago
@porolita22
Google them: they are called Green Ledge Farm and Yellow House Farm.

maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
@DarkAngel0125
I actually just read Animal Liberation by Peter Singer, which was basically the spark that started the animal rights movement. He actually says in his book that he would approve of eating animals that were raised humanely- he is just against causing suffering to the point where the animal's life is more bad than good, which is basically my philosophy.
And I didn't expect you to start going to these farms- I just wanted you to see that not all animal farms are evil.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
@DarkAngel0125
Right, he said that being omnivores isn't a problem, meaning raising animals for food isn't a problem. He may not have said the exact words "raised humanely," but he said something to that effect. And I have read the Omnivore's Dilemma, but I am definitely talking about what I read in Animal Liberation.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
@DarkAngel0125
Peter Singer said in an interview:
"if we could change the mainstream from eating factory farmed products to eating only free-range, pasture raised animal products, that would be a huge and positive change."
and
"I think as long as the standards really are compassionate ones, that do as much as they can to give the animals decent lives before they’re killed, I don’t have a problem with it."
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
Fine, I frankly don't watch interviews with authors much. I just read the books.
He never promoted this in his book, though.
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
But owning a cat is also keeping it as your property- it never chose to be your pet. And there's nothing wrong with that- having children is also in a sense slavery. Children never choose to come under our care, they must do what we say, and they do not have the choice to leave. Raising animals is not much different. Not all control is bad- some organisms need care. As a matter of fact, many domestic animals have undergone "neoteny," meaning they retain juvenile traits throughout adulthood.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
@DarkAngel0125
You still own your cat, whether you adopted her or bought her.
You have control over how she lives, and she will be under your care when she dies, just like a cow or chicken. The only difference is that old age will cause her death rather than you. If you were to keep another human being under the conditions we keep cats in, it would be an easy form of slavery but it would still be slavery.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
I have another question. Are you alright with eggs or milk from animals kept as pets? I have four pet chickens which I hold, let outside every day, feed organic food, and care very much for (and they will live out their natural life spans). Would you be OK with that? It would be like if your cat just happened to lay eggs.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411
DarkAngel0125 1 year ago
@maximum411 i believe the same thing . raise farm animals humanely , even though in the end , they will be slaughtered , but they should be treated nicely . not like the video shows
KlienKarnation 1 year ago
And thanks for seeing that I am doing what I think is right.
Again, I have absolutely nothing against veganism- it is a kind and conscientious way of life.
I just think that raising animals humanely for meat is morally defensible. All animals will enjoy life when their needs are fulfilled, even when it ends in death, as all lives must.
It's funny that I was arguing with a vegan, whose views align much more closely with mine than someone who would eat factory farmed meat.
maximum411 1 year ago
@maximum411

I do believe that it isnt impossible for cruelty free farms to exist. if he is not willing to stop eating meat, at least he is willing to go through the trouble of making sure the things he buys are as cruelty free as possible. now is he more suseptible to colon cancer and heart disease? yep, yes he is.
hilldominator27 10 months ago
@porolita22 - actually it's not just from 'childrens books' - In many other countries besides the US (Australia being one) beef and dairy cows are free to roam in acres and acres of grassy paddocks with their fellow friends, with access to shade, fresh water and even extra food like hay/straw. You can see this with your own eyes driving along the long stretch of roads here in Victoria and NSW.

I am having a tough time about feeling like a hypocrite.
any advice?
PinkChinaPanda27 1 year ago
or we could let our livers fail or die of b12 deficiency, humans didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat LIVING plants. vegans and vegetarians are hypocrites. they say meat-eaters are murderers and what not but what about the plants that are living organisms? besides, if we didn't eat certain animals they would overpopulate and die of starvation. Life is a paradox.
foxknight19 1 year ago
@foxknight19 "living plants"
When you pick a plant more grow in it's place.
Also, plants don't feel pain and are not slaughtered.
Yes they are living, but animals feel pain, eat, sleep ect. Plants only eat and breath and drink. there is a difference. "Living" is not the same for every living thing.
CBPCorps 1 year ago
@foxknight19
know what's interesting?

RobbytheLion 1 year ago
Illustrating a calf with a gunshot sound is very misleading, I think. Calves are not (at least not in common practice) killed after birth to get the milk from the cow. They are taken away after a day or two and raised with other calves. It's not the best situation for the calf, but it's very much different than killing them as you claim.
Now, if you want a cruelty issue where it IS likely the "byproduct" animal will be killed, research the production of Premarin.

"animals are equal to us" bullshit, "we dont need milk we are grown up" we drink it for pleasure, "that chicken has a life" really jumping around and laying eggs, oh wow, what a life. Do I look like I care? Lions dont give a shit about their prey, neither should we.

TheeMislolsmileyface 1 year ago
Why do you discriminate between killing an animal and killing a plant? Entire ecosystems were annihilated just so we could farm some vegetables, think about that. At least some of the wild animals probably made it out alive. Just because plants are from a biological kingdom less related to us means it's ok to kill them? Is it the way the animals come to meet their death? How do you think most animals die out in the wild? They are mauled to death or they starve or are afflicted with some disease.
zen699 1 year ago
Why is it wrong to eat animals?
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 They feel pain. And they had to die to be eaten.
tobitobide 1 year ago
@tobitobide plants had to die or be mutilated in order to be eaten too. Just because there aren't blood and guts doesn't mean they don't feel pain on some level either. Everything dies, all living things can be hurt. I don't see your point.
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 Plants do not have a functional nervous system. Period.
tobitobide 1 year ago
@tobitobide so it's ok to hack a tree down (murder it) because it doesn't have a nervous system? Are you serious?
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 It doesn't feel. Animals do. You won't ever see the difference so I will not reply to "eating plants s bad too" again.
tobitobide 1 year ago
@tobitobide there are some people born in this world who lack the sense of touch. So they don't feel pain, is it ok to murder them? No...
zen699 1 year ago
@tobitobide look up "The girl Who Can't Feel Pain" on google and you'll see what I mean.
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 They live. Plants don't. Signs for living. Biology says that all of them have to be there for something to be considered a living being.
1) Reproduction (making babies) - check
2) Reaction to outer influence - check
3) Movement out of own will - not there.
Therefore plants are no living beings and do not feel pain.
Next arguement, please.
tobitobide 1 year ago
@tobitobide plants are not alive lmao, what quack biology course did you take? Plants have movement they just don't have locomotion. Some plants react instantly to the touch like the mimosa plant. Some plants are even carnivores (venus fly traps). You have no idea what you are talking about. Plants roots seek out water underground, but they don't have a will? Well thats a topic for another discussion but that certainly isn't biology.
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 However plants are not considered living beings. Otherwise they would be called "animals" and not "plants".

@tobitobide Thats totally your opinion and it has nothing to do with the facts. I am as much a living being as a tree is. We are both alive and are composed of living cells that replicate and die.
zen699 1 year ago
@tobitobide We humans used to call other people of a different race animals as well. So I wouldn't base your argument on that.
zen699 1 year ago
@zen699 I think that comment didn't respond to me in any way... humans are in fact living beings.
tobitobide 1 year ago
@tobitobide We only refer to ourselves as 'beings'. I have only ever heard of a human being. Have you ever heard of an elephant being? An ant being? No. From wiki: "In abstract usage, "the being" or "one's being" is the mind's concept of the self as a whole entity —including both mind and body —wherein the being is in the mind, and the "body" is all sensory aspects within the being." Do you really think animals distinguish between mind and body? Are they capable of conceiving a self like we do?

Right now I think egg and dairy trade are only wrong bcoz they still involve killing, and causing great suffering to animals and violating their rights in other ways but I think eggs and milk can be obtained without doing this and I would advocate this as I think it can be part of a soltion where we can continue to care for these animals without harming them. Most of the time chickens and cows really dont mind when u take their eggs and milk respectfully & they still need to be in the care of us

Thumbs up!
Shockledee 1 year ago
They either turn the calf into veal or it is feed some kind of fake milk if not enough milk. They might of breed the cows to produce more milk than the calf can consume. Eating eggs is eating undeveloped chickens. If Onision is promoting vegetarianism then he wouldn't want you to eat eggs or drink milk. If everyone was to go vegetarian it would probably be gradual just as outlawing alcohol didn't work had it been done gradually would it have worked, don't know but a better chance it might have.
hydrolito 1 year ago

MsSongshadow 1 year ago
You will never stay Vegan if you approach it as a diet. You must understand that Veganism is about being in tune with nature and all sentient beings, not about what tastes better. Humans consume animals simply because of gluttony. Replacing one food with another of similar taste is only a superficial solution to your problem. You must understand that animals feel pain and die for your unnecessary and unnatural cravings. When you get this, you will make a smooth transition into Veganism.
truth2748 1 year ago
Egg farming involves culling 50% of the chicken population, as the males don't produce eggs, which are tossed into the garbage or ground up alive.
The 50% of bulls that are born to milk cows are put into tiny dark cages until their flesh softens, then they are killed as veal.
NineInchSamusAran 1 year ago
my question is what happens to the millions of animals already in the intensive farming industry if everybody goes vegan? where do they go? what do they eat? who takes care of them? i'm not saying let's continue with current systems of cruelty.. but this is a question that is very hard to answer don't you think? do we kill them all? let them starve to death? we can't set them free because they are not wild animals and there is nowhere for them to go. so what do we do?
picobravo30 1 year ago
@picobravo30 It is a hypothetical question which doesn't really need to be answered. The whole world is not going to go vegan at once. How would that happen? By art of magic? It is a process. Intensive farming will not diminish or end until the demand goes away. Less demand, less breeding, less killing. Till no more animals are bred for these purposes. That makes more sense :)
porolita22 1 year ago
first let me say i do not wish to disrespect your choice to b vegan.. i was vegan for many years and a raw foodist for two years.. so i respect your decision hermana, i really do.. but in the interest of healthy dialogue between a vegan (yourself) and an omnivore that raises and kills animals (myself) i implore you to not brush the question off so quickly as hypothetical or answer it without thinking deeply about it..
picobravo30 1 year ago
@picobravo30 But I truly believe it is a hypothetical question. I don't see a way in which the whole world would go vegan instantly. How would that happen? It can't. I meant no disrespect, I am being completely honest. I think we have a responsibility to the animals we have brought into existence, to care for them and not to breed them. Same goes for dogs and cats, as any other domesticated animal.
porolita22 1 year ago
@picobravo30 I've thought about this before myself. I agree with porolita that this will be a gradual change so we won't have to deal with a bunch of animals all at once. Some animal products will go to waste in the process, although this happens already. They get thrown out when they pass the date. I have a friend who works at a grocery store so I know that this happens.
