music like this makes me forget about hatred brought upon us by muslim fanatics that fucked up this planet so quick! I wish I could go back to the 80s. with my old life, my old girlfriend, my old memories, my mother still alive, me younger, me happier.....
I dont really understand why today is a shame to show in the music for young people (overall this audience) the side of being cute , sweet , full of fantasy just like children!
They want next generation stupid acting like b**** and bumbumbumb !! No melody !! Anything !!.. miss me 80s ..
OMG ... Thank you so much for posting ... Words cannot express how much this video/song means to me ... Brings back so many happy memories ... Thanks again :) ((((big smile))))
I had an ordinary day today: I awoke, went to work, then home where I sat surfing YouTube. Stumbling upon this video took me back to 1984. I was 14, filled with dreams of being a pop star, wearing eyeliner and listening to Spandau Ballet, David Sylvian and Duran Duran. Now I sit flooded with happy memories of being young, full of unbridled hope and energy. It’s touching, sweet and sad. Thanks for posting this - it’s a great way to end a day of adult things: being transported back to youth.
Feels poigniant to life these days; remember it on release. Media ala vultures, politicians and their gaffs, 'History repeating' as the Dame released and even that was years ago
Love, love, love these guys. Singing with power and great lyrics and hot music and melody to make for what has to be one of the greatest bands ever. Ever!
I first heard this in 1993 on their singles collection cassette. It was track number 3 and I loved it straight away. I wonder is "Round and Round" a reference to the slow sets in discos... you know, when you holding your woman close an slowly going "round and round" to the music. "This is the game we came here for" indeed!
This very beautiful song is a classic! In the Philippines, they have 3 hit songs: "True", "Gold", and this amazing track. I don't know why in the United States, they are considered a one-hit wonder!?
@MrsMeowMix Actually they have 4 US top 40 hits which included "Only When You Leave". Only "True" was a major hit which reached #2. They had several more hits in the UK like Highly Strung, Chant No.1, I'll Fly For You, Heaven is a Secret, Communication, Through The Barricades, Fight For Ourselves, To Cut A Long Story Short, and Instinction. They are bigger outside the US like Canada, Germany and Australia.
yeah folks, i love this song too. Spandau Ballet was a one of a kind band back in the 80's. yeah, hadley could pass for a pretty vampire in a movie. I just saw a later video of him in Italy, gained weight from all these years (like us), but u know its still the good looking him. i'm not gay, just telling the truth.
This is the most touching song Spandau Ballet ever performed. Sure, "True" is the gold standard amongst fans, but there's a special sentiment about this track that makes it a subtle gem. A gorgeous, often-overlooked track by an under-appreciated band.
I remember hearing this song as a kid and liked it but didn't appreciate who sang it. Went to the Spandau Ballet concert in Adelaide, Australia last night and realised SB sang it. Awesome song, awesome band!!
classic song but im giving the video some praise it kind of puts you into the wonderful world of children full of imagination my lad keeps telling me about ghosts in his school and bloody mary i have to smile wish i could be in his adventures
Ah I just love Tony so much. he is so charming and a really nice man. I have met him 3 times and he has time for all his fans which is what I like. The sign of a true gentleman that is
wonderful memories of the 80s , such a long way back now... all hail to legends spandau ballet for giving me the best soundtrack to one of the greatest decades of my life.
glad they reformed tony hadlee came to auckland nz last year with paul young, and sang at the zoo, hes far to good for that, if you were around in the eighties youll no what i mean.
Yes I do know what you mean. His vocie is just perfect. He sounds so good live and that is unusual because they sound shit some artists when they song live but he doesn't, could watch him all day live
I saw them too and went with my mum. Im 26 and mum would play their music in the 80s when i was growing up. I wore a black lace dress and red lipstick, very new romantic!
i went to see them last night in manchester they were excellent i didnt want it to end and steve norman is even more desireable than he was in 1983 xxx
Bittersweet....innocent days when all was just perfect, Spandau Ballet my favourite band, martin kemp my favourite man, endless summer days and dreams of tomorrow....when i see you all on October 21st and the familar music starts up, pure nostalgia will overtake me and i just know the tears will come....love you guys....xx
It's hard to pick a fave Spandau song...but, this song is just so intense, so transporting - makes me cry even a little. So I guess if I had to say, this is it. Brilliant.
oh god, spent a fortune on gigs, merch n downloads since Take That reformed......My 20's BoyBand...........Gonna wipe me out following my 'teenage' boyband as well - but bloody worth it!!!!! End of the day - they are from Islington - feels like going home!!! Round and Round it goes, so True, pure Gold - like a 'Lifeline'.........I'm still so 'Highly Strung'!!!! <3 xx
the cinematographer did a great job lighting up members of the spandau ballet in this video. By they way, THEY ARE BACK! Reunion tours will be announced on March 25th.
great song....but, can someone explain how the video clip relates to the song? I thought this is a love song, about relationship...don't understand how it relates to the kids?

Most videos and songs never really go together, MTV was full of songs with visuals and lyrics that did not go together,
but in the lines of this song they are referring to younger selves and their fantasies....but directors always come up w/something to do in videos....
