I had an ordinary day today: I awoke, went to work, then home where I sat surfing YouTube. Stumbling upon this video took me back to 1984. I was 14, filled with dreams of being a pop star, wearing eyeliner and listening to Spandau Ballet, David Sylvian and Duran Duran. Now I sit flooded with happy memories of being young, full of unbridled hope and energy. It’s touching, sweet and sad. Thanks for posting this - it’s a great way to end a day of adult things: being transported back to youth.

I first heard this in 1993 on their singles collection cassette. It was track number 3 and I loved it straight away. I wonder is "Round and Round" a reference to the slow sets in discos... you know, when you holding your woman close an slowly going "round and round" to the music. "This is the game we came here for" indeed!

They had several more hits in the UK like Highly Strung, Chant No.1, I'll Fly For You, Heaven is a Secret, Communication, Through The Barricades, Fight For Ourselves, To Cut A Long Story Short, and Instinction. They are bigger outside the US like Canada, Germany and Australia.

yeah folks, i love this song too. Spandau Ballet was a one of a kind band back in the 80's. yeah, hadley could pass for a pretty vampire in a movie. This is the most touching song Spandau Ballet ever performed. Sure, "True" is the gold standard amongst fans, but there's a special sentiment about this track that makes it a subtle gem. A gorgeous, often-overlooked track by an under-appreciated band.

Spandau Ballet needed a break from each other, I belive it was Gary Kemp who wrote the songs, but trouble emerged when he found interest elsewhere, in acting. Together with his brother, Martin Kemp, they at ended in a movie ( forgot the title ). Gary also had a role in the movie "The bodyguard". Spandau also couldnt compete with their style "New romantic" towards the late 80is and early 90is style of music. Leadsinger, Tony Hadley is still singing with John Keeble
