  • WTF is wrong with these politicians?!

  • RON PAUL OR NONE AT ALL 2012!

  • This guy is a retard! Romney wasn't just talking about Sesame Street! He's just trying to get people to view TYT by over-exaggerating!

  • Republicans are NOT all brain-washing sadistic people seeking to control and dumb everyone down. Well... not all of them. Tea Party maybe. I like Uygur's talks but saying something like that just makes him less like an intellectual and more like one of those fear-mongers you see on FOX. Seriously. Personal attacks on a specific group of people is as stupid as it gets >_<

  • Bitch, if you take away Arthur I'll kick your ass >:(

  • By the way, PBS already receives corporate funding.

  • I am a huge Sesame Street fan... that does not think it should be government funded. PBS, and Sesame Workshop, who makes Sesame Street both could be fine without the funding. The government only pays 15% of PBS's budget, Sesame Workshop, an even smaller 5%. They could easily be able to get more donations. Sesame Workshop actually uses the profits from merchandise, in addition to donations, to help fund the show. With just a little more fundraising, both could keep going without taxpayer money.

  • OMG Whats the big deal, just have ads, it wont change the education. Just have ads. Discovery has ads, National Geographic has ads.

  • haha are you kidding me? A few hundred thousand dollars in income annually at the MAX is going to reduce the deficit? Try reducing BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN BAILOUT SCHEMES and then you'll reduce the fucking deficit. Who the fuck do you think you're kidding mitt romney? Don't insult our intelligence you corrupt politician.

Do you know how much $200k is of 600 billion? Let me work that out for you: 3.333333333333333e-7. When you have to start using exponents, that's when you know you're fucked.

  • @395235 Which, if my math is correct, is equivelent to 200k being 0.0000003% of 600 billion dollars.

  • wtf?

  • What a COCKSUCKER is MIT ROMNEY !!

  • Man conservative voters are going to have a huge problem in this election. We don't like to vote for democrats because of abortion and gay-marriage disaggreements. But goodness Republicans want to start war with Iran, which would kill thousands of Iranians and Americans, and are sending this country into the ground. I mean the democrats don't have small business interests at heart, but the republicans don't have American interests at heart.

  • Everybody knows facts have a liberal bias, PBS reports facts, therefore PBS has a liberal bias... crystal clear

  • Wow? These are these big issues?! Ridiculous.

  • 10 anti-aircraft missile launchers could pay for sesame street for a year.

  • Are you kidding me....going after PBS? What about the wars

  • PBS did a special on the Dover trial. That's why it's hated so much by the religious right.

  • imagine cutting just 10% of the war machin and how that money could help people.

  • He wants to cut public broadcasting before any of the $650 billion on "defense"? God help us if this man becomes President.

  • rot in hell, Romney

  • big bird an agent for truth ?

  • big bird personally gets 5 million?

  • i say stop federal funding PBS but, it's such a drop in the bucket there is no use in focusing on it.

  • For 3 years, we continue to hear, "funding for that is only a drop in the bucket". Drops eventually fill buckets.

  • What a non-issue that is, PBS is a great source of learning and activities for kids, no matter what political affilition their parents might have, my kids use the PBS-kids website everyday, so ridiculous to propose to cut a few million again from education while so much useless spending goes on....ah yeah gotta keep them 700+ foreign US military bases going, but don't let the kids learn ABCs and numbers!!

  • @Nebbyker: If PBS is such a great source, they can easily get sponsors like every other network. And bullshit on your "no matter what political affiliation". Anyone with an ounce of sense can clearly see they have a left-wing agenda. Perhaps we should raise your taxes so that you can help fund Rush Limbaugh's radio show, making it a bit more fair.

  • @2010GOP Ah yes, the sign of having a left-wing agenda: anything to the left of Ann Coulter.

  • I'm leaving the party and I want everyone to stuff the ice chest!

  • i like pbs and dont want to see it go but, we dont have to use the slippery slope fallacy to explain it

  • After seeing the GOP candidates, we really need to stop telling our children that anyone can grow up to be President.

  • Its such a simple way to promote education...and cheap!

  • Not gonna fund PBS... That money has to go to oil subsidies.

You just can't in good conscience buy into this BULLSHIT that Republicans care about spending when they've increased spending more when in office since Eisenhower. They don't mean it. They're killing off things that help the less advantaged, like education, to give money to donors. You're an IDIOT and ANTI-AMERICAN if you think that the Republicans are representing the values that this country was founded upon. Read Thomas Paine.

  • Mitt calls black people dog.

    *Watch it in my channel.

Mitt's net worth is 1/4 billion dollars.

How can Mitt relate to anybody or anything?

    Corporations are people Mitt?

Your 15 minutes are up -- now go away.

  • What is Cenk on about? What TV show with advertisements have corporate logos on their characters? No, the advertisements are shown during breaks. Fuck.

  • @BobGeorgeAU It's simple; the people paying for the ads influence the content. His example was a stretch, but if S. Street or other programs get ads...

Say, for example, I buy 40% of your channel's ad space. I run an oil company. If I ask you to paint my industry in a positive light, threatening to remove funding, do you listen?

  • @TheKitsuneBlue No, I say "fuck you, this is Sesame Street, people are lining up to advertise during our show". Does your regular TV show do much propaganda for their advertisers? Sure, some shows have sponsors so they will weave in product placement (reality shows especially). But with shows like Sesame Street that doesn't typically happen. It doesn't happen with most of the shows you watch on commercial TV and you know it. You're just presenting "what if" scenario that's not reality based.

  • @BobGeorgeAU I was thinking the same thing (but since Sesame Street is a full one hour show...) and it reminded me of how some textbooks in school have product placement in them for, well obviously, money reasons.

When you have two Oreos*tm and 3 Ritz*tm crackers...

  • "is a program so critical that it's worth borrowing money from China to pay for it?"

i'm sure if anyone ever pointed out that we're doing that to fund our military, all those anti-gov warmongering idiots would go apeshit

  • His name is Mitt, haha, that's silly. Takk for meg.

  • Spoiler Alert...

Many larger PBS affiliates already run ads before and after their shows. Though positioned as spots for companies supporting the shows, they're STILL ADS. Granted the format of running them before and after and not breaking up the content is more palatable, they're still advertisements.

And why? Well obviously it takes a lot of money to provide content, and due to the fact that the average person can't afford to donate and gov funding is always a target, they have no choice.

  • This Greek gets on my nerves

  • PBS needs to get it's revenue from the private sector like any other channel.

Thye get donations, but that's not enough.....run the commercials

  • BBC is the most public sector a channel can get, and its the largest broadcaster in the world.

  • Commercialize the military...oh wait, they already do.

  • Cenk "teaching" us how money influences commentary. What irony.

You had GoDaddy.com giving advertising money to TYT in the past, and Cenk singing the praises of this company. But when GoDaddy drops them a few months later, Cenk comes on with stories (at least 2 to my knowledge) that denigrates the company.

And Cenk has the nerve to call others unprincipled?

  • @hofifut I forget, when Cenk was on MSNBC, did he say something negative about GE? He did? Huh, imagine that.

Can you prove that the issues were public knowledge when GoDaddy was still a TYT advertiser?

  • @hofifut have you ever considered that they stopped being partners with GoDaddy because of their principles? ever considered that GoDaddy didn't start doing things that go against TYT's ideals until after they became partners, and that prompted TYT to drop them?

most likely not, since you're just as biased as everyone else and always assume the worst with no proof.

  • lol @ The captions reading "Big Bird" as "Big Bertha".

  • Just...no. PBS and NPR and other NCE television Channels are doing just fine without the advertisements. Secondly, that would end up messing up PBS and NPR since they essentially are NCE television channels, and also 501(c)(3) corporations.

  • PBS is a very reliable source for news, they give great content, having sponsors could tarnish their reputation as companies could influence what they put out.... PBS is the definition of "free press" and shouldn't be changed by the government

  • @TheNomad22 Say goodbye to that under Republicans.

  • Big Bird ='(

  • These people make me want to exercise my 2nd amendment rights.

I think I'm becoming one of them. Bleugh

  • So that's why TV sucks now.

  • Government subsidized TV is literally 0.0001% of our budget............

  • @HaysuusisaG lul i think its even smaller then that. hahaha

  • $5 million? Mitt, you can probably save, like 100 times that much by closing down an overseas military post of two.

  • i say we get rid of both parties cause its not about issues anymore its about what the other party did to make you sad.....FUCK OFF every one political can go jump in a hole and die

  • LEAVE BIG BIRD TE FUCK OUT OF THIS ROMNEY....i don't give a fuck about politics but touch big bird we gonna have a muthafucking problem

  • People who say that all politicians are bad and there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats really haven't been paying attention the past decade. It's an easy thing to say that can garner support from other people who aren't paying attention (which is obviously the vast majority of people), but it's not the truth.

  • Funny, the giant pigeon, the blue coke addict, and the stoner elephant all tell you more than any news network in the nation.

  • Romney is nothing but a rich white asshole/ Moron speaking for other rich white assholes who hate poor and working class 'Merkans...anyone who is stupid enough to buy Joe Smith's Moron fairy tale/ con job of a *religion* is obviously severely mentally retarded

  • I fucking hate mitt romney I really do

  • Let's stop funding good things and fund only bad things that hurt human Americans, but help corporate Americans. I smell a new civil war brewing.

  • PBS and sesame street are programs that help educate the poor, Romney doesn't want that.

  • It was pointed out that sesame street gave segregation a big slap in the head! Just imagine the repubs watching and seeing black kids and white kids getting along and having fun togeather ! Also like cenk said NPR/PBS reports facts . Now we can't have that can we !?

  • Actually, all we have to do is make the poor kids stage hands and janitors at the studio for rich kids! Finally, Romney and Gingrich can agree on something.

  • Oh boy here we go folks. There's going to be publica and private education for pbs..

  • damn romney ads before all my videos

  • Romney wants to build 15 more ships for the Navy, and upgrade the Air Force aircraft, but he also wants to limit spending and make government smaller. Something doesn't add up!! How can you make government smaller and cut spending if you are policing the world?

  • They're attacking the little fish and completely ignoring the big ones. The problem is, the little fish have teeth, and the big ones will bite your head off. Which ones would you go after? I'm not saying its right, but ...

  • Oh my goodness, didn't we go through this already? They already threatened the Corporation for Public Advertising. It costs less than two bucks per citizen ($422M in 2010). This is about politics and ideology -- not budget concerns.

  • @WrestlingBC12 "Newt" is short for "Newton", and "Mitt" is Willard's middle name.

  • Oprah can give them that with the change she gets back everyday.

  • Yea it's PBS that needs to be cut *rolleyes*

  • @DaytonaRoadster

You missed the whole point you imbecile.

  • Mitt Romney is the Used-Car salesman who thinks he could be President.

  • Americans, do not ever let your public TV channel to take ads. I am not American, we used to have a GREAT public tv: great art shows, classical and folcloral music shows, documentaries, educational programs, classical movies, extraordinary literature adaptations...Then, goverment decided to take ads for that channel. Now, for the ratings, our paublic channel is broadcasting idiotic soap operas, melodramas, stupid stupid tv series and worst kind of pop music. :(

  • @rasnac to late we already have all the bad things you said

  • $5,000,000. vs 800,000,000,000? There would be a bigger impact if Oprah cut back on fingernail polish

  • @mooncrab win

  • That's it. I'm going to kill Mitt Romney. Where's my Big Bird costume?

  • They just want to kill Frontline because made great videos about the financial crisis.

  • In Australia, we have the government run ABC and SBS television and radio stations. They even supply a 24 hour news channel. In my opinion, these stations are probably some of the most politically neutral in our country. I believe a lot of people see it as a valuable part of our nation's media and removing it would be tantamount to political suicide. It's value is based not on a financial return, but on the fact that people can remain informed without commercial interests being a factor.

  • @CrazedCousinDougal Same with some stations in Canada. But don't tell our American friends, they will only do something smart if they think it's their idea.

  • 5 Million dollars? The Pentagon can find that between their sofa cushions

  • Yea republicans are the worst of the worst yea i admit almost all polititians are corrupt but republicans take it to a whole new level.

  • Stop saying "republicans'... POLITICIANS in general are corrupt.

  • @gekko101 I agree. Democrats are every bit as corrupt.

  • @gekko101 But republicans seem to show no shame, or at least are not as good at hiding it.... it's the only real difference.

BTW: Obama would be considered a republican in most European countries.

  • @gekko101 completely agree

  • @gekko101 Yeah I'm sorry but Dems aren't nearly as bad. They're not the ones busting unions across the Country. They weren't the ones who gave tax cuts to the rich and handouts to the banks. They're not the ones wanting to cut social security and medicare and end payroll tax cuts for the middle class and stop unemployment benefits. Dems aren't perfect, but they have some really good platforms we can get behind... The Reps don't have a SINGLE issue I can get behind...

  • @fizXgirl314

unions arent exactly a good thing. think about how many jobs have been and will be outsourced because buisness owners dont want to have to increase wages and deal with a protest every year. its not like it was a 30+ years ago jobs dont need much protection and unions arent very nessasary. i mean im dont care either way but if you cant look at any political problem from both sides you should probably stay away from voting and what not. reps look at dems just like dems look at reps.

  • @OrangeSaint420 "unions arent exactly agood thing" . . . . get your nonperforming head checked! BTW, thats the only protection the pesant got.

  • @OrangeSaint420 disagree... many skilled laborers depend on unions for living wages. People take their jobs overseas because they can literally pay them pennies an hour. We are already having problems with income inequality without busting unions which provide a modicum of relief...

  • @gekko101 agreed!!!! I hate the lot of them. Even messiobama.

  • @gekko101 Republicans are just stupid and corrupt.

  • @gekko101 True, but the republicans are corrupt and insane.

  • All of our funding is paid for by placing future generations in debt. Which is wrong. We cannot enter our children into contracts for which they did not consent to. This includes social contracts like that whole government constitution thing that is based off of the idea that might makes right (democracy).

  • Hmmmmm wars in middle east.... or NPR and public broadcasting..... idk.... decisions decisons.... -__- what a joke this candidate is

  • 5 million? We spent more on that to fix the F-22s, something the government already spent 66 BILLION dollars on.

  • Der Fuhrer Mitt Romney says "Facts are bad".

  • This TYT news segment is brought to you by the letters A-S-S.

  • Comment removed

  • looks like big birds gonna be a ho with a tramp stamp "Goldman Sachs Owns This" XD

  • @IMPALEXANDERAVG Harris points out that beliefs have consequences and that it would be a bad idea to give Mullah Omar of the Taliban a nuclear bomb. That is NOT the same thing as tarring all muslims with the same brush and freaking out. Muslims have more to fear from America than America has to fear from muslims.

  • The conservatives are just mad that people donate to NPR or PBS, and not to their campaigns, or to big corporations.

  • I haven't seen so much ridiculous shallow anti liberal propaganda until the republicans started SERIOUSLY trying to sheepify the public. It's so they can say there's two sides to the "people are evil" coin. But to the intelligent observer, it just tells us they know exactly what they're doing.

  • That's the game. Bitch about mexicans getting $200 a week check FOR WORKING, and then turn around and give a bank 2 trillion.

  • Romney would support people spreading caltrops in his path if Lowe's payed him to encourage the sale of nails.

  • when perhaps about .05% of the annual federal budget goes to NPR, PBS and the NEA combined, you have to realized that is not about saving money and is 100% is driven by ideology and politics.

  • FUCK ROMNEY. FUCK WASHINGTON. HOW ABOUT WE CUT SPENDING TO THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX? HOW ABOUT WE AUDIT THE PENTAGON?? TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS ARE UNACCOUNTED FOR AND THERE IS A CHILD PORN RING OPERATING IN THE PENTAGON WITH OVER 5000 PENTAGON EMPLOYEES INVOLVED.

HOW ABOUT WE STOP BAILING OUT CORPORATIONS AND BANKS TOO?? BUT OH NO, ROMNEY WANTS TO CUT BENEFICIAL PROGRAMS AND PUT ADS BELONGING TO HIS CORPORATE OVERLORDS ON PBS. FUCK ROMNEY. FUCK HIM SO HARD WITH A FUCKING SPIKED DILDO.

  • @igotaidsinnarnia Wait, the Pentagon has a child porn ring? Not that I'd find it that surprising but that's a pretty bold claim. Would you please tell me where you got this information?

  • @blackkakari here, reported by anderson cooper on ac360 /watch?v=bf8rOGLC898

  • @igotaidsinnarnia You seem mad.

  • @igotaidsinnarnia

    ^^^what he said

  • @igotaidsinnarnia yes to the first, yes to the second, yes to the third, but pentagon porn ring? where did that come from?

  • @igotaidsinnarnia hahah i liked your comment b/c of the last sentence

  • @igotaidsinnarnia So vote Ron Paul problem solved

  • @igotaidsinnarnia I read this in a weird yelling voice...

  • @igotaidsinnarnia I am getting so absolutely depressed at how violent comments on TYT videos are constantly getting the top number of "likes". Seriously, guys. We're supposed to be better than the bloodthirsty conservatives.

  • So the immense national debt is not caused by war, or Wall Street-Washington corruption, but by 'Sesame Street'?

  • Well, may be people should donate more money to PBS if they want PBS to continue...

  • this is like turn off a lamp wile powering a football itches floodlights, totally insignificant

  • "we're republicans, we hate facts!"

    vintage cenk

  • Just a quick fact, the best television in the world is made by the BBC, no ads there.

  • @soundslave PBS shows the BBC World News every night at 5:30.

  • @soundslave Agreed. I have three BBC channels in my US cable plan that I watch regularly.

  • government should have no business controlling the media

  • Im so sick of these republicans. They can all go eat shit including the ones who votes for them.

  • It's about TOWELS in the budget....gotta love audio transcript.

  • Cenk you make your money through youtube being able to generate revenue through advertising.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with advertising 30 second commercials.

  • @treysparker There is a difference between a children's programming, and all of YouTube. I am not clear on the other shows shown alongside Big Bird, so excuse me if it isn't just a children's channel.

  • @treysparker but there a lot of wrong when ONLY advertising is used as funding. That mean you are at the mercy of the corporate whim. That mean you will only receive news, education (what ? nah, no education, only entertainment) etc that fit the corporate agenda, help their image.

(no wonder American get dumber and dumber, rating and product placement! .. the reality shows)

  • Ya, let's not cut the billions of dollars the taxpayers fork over every year to Big Oil- let's instead attack Big Bird! Conservative logic.

  • He says he doesn't want to kill big bird. Translation Romney wants to kill big bird with a sniper rifle.

  • I called my kid and asked her if she felt like a communist. She asked why I ask that. I told her Fox News is reporting Sesame St. turns kids to communists. My daughter is the least political person you will ever meet but now she has a case of the ass against Fox news. Do they not realize all the kids that grew up with that show love it?

  • Sesame Street vs wall street. I pick Sesame Street all time.

  • I don't understand your bias against Republicans. You say the Republicans don't like the people to be conscious, that they want to brainwash the people. Wake up to your bias Cenk - The Democrats in government have the same distaining attitude towards individual Americans as the Republicans; exactly the same. The only person in government that is free of corporate corruption is Dr Ron Paul. Why don't you see thru the establishment tyranny of fear and be courageous like Ron Paul and defy it?

  • 1:03 = my new catchphrase.

  • Education is the path to enlightenment, why do you think these Corporate Merchants want access to further education gone? Because knowing what to do to make it in life means you are competition & they do not like that.

  • How the hell can the GOP bitch and moan about less than 8% of the budget WHILE NOT SAYING SQUAT ABOUT DEFENSE SPENDING?!!!! It's the most bloated part of our budget along with the tax cuts, yet anytime a debt debate gets in full swing, they go on and on about welfare and payroll tax cuts. Just last month congress passed a 700 billion dollar defense spending bill without anyone giving two shits, yet if unemployment benefits need another boost, you can bet the GOP will be in full "fiscal" mode

  • @TheDalinkwent Read the NDAA bill for 2012. It's veddy interesting...I'm still going over it.

  • IV STOPED WATCHING the news , i only watch sesame street

  • @griiko And you're a better person for it!

  • The only thing Mitt is consistant on is being a clueless putz!!!

  • Keep the people poor and stupid, norvos orno seclorum.

  • @Hammerhead547 I hate to be pedantic, but don't you mean "norvos ordo seclorum" (a new order for the ages)?
